prag ♻ (janayanation) Are all the sprint spots taken? :(

I'm (finally!) aiming to read AND finish Pride and Prejudice and I think it can be used for arm on cover. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ?

On a completely different topic- I went to the zoo today and saw a red panda for the first time!!

Yes, but hang in there - we will have a way for you to do sprints soon! The captains have been scheming, bwahahahaha. :)

And oh my gosh red pandas! How were they??

eta: Geesh, how did I miss the cover - sadly I'm going to have to say no. :( His hand is in his pocket/behind him, and most of her fingers are obscured by the paper. It will count in places like page jumping, though!

I'm so glad that this is a longer challenge - we're getting to really know each other as individuals with all different strengths. This will help us even more in later challenges, I know it. :) Going forward if you ever feel insufficiently scheduled (...you know what I mean) don't hesitate to holler! Hehe

Yup! If you go to the spreadsheet and look at the O - Master page you can see the recommended order of reading to make sure we get through all the requirements. :)

eta: Depends for Wild Man... we already have two people with books ready for the 500+ page task in Distance, and Page Jumping only goes up to 500. You could use it in other places, though!

Up next, I am going to read the book for the spring (on friday). Otherwise I am going to start The Iron King for the Book it to the distance (this works for 290pages) or A Study in Silks as the arm (which the ebook has 352 pages instead of the 524).

Yay for having lots of time to read!

Hi Tammie. Good job!

Next we are prioritizing everyone picking a book for event two- Page jumping. Smart and Sexy will work for that event if you want to read it, otherwise you can pick another.

We have a couple options for the chariot, so don't feel obligated to read it for that.

I'll be reading Through Your Eyes tomorrow (or tonight), which is 100 pages. So that can go for a PJ book, or the one above, or both. =) I know not many others read short books, so I'm going to try to get some of those taken care of.

Well, after you finish that book you'll have your three required events finished so you'll be free to do what you like! :) We have one sprint done so you could read a MMA for a coaching slot. You could put something towards Distance (though maybe not the 500+ pager just yet). I'll have the Distance spreadsheet done soon-ish but not immediately, for reasons you shall soon see. Kazen

The sprinters for Fight Club have been chosen, but do you know what every good fighter has? An amazing cheering section! So we're going to do Support Sprints to cheer our sprinters on, matching one aspect of their bout to help spur them on to victory. :D

This mini-game is Rose's idea - three cheers for her awesomeness! Huzzah!

The basics:

Each sprinter has listed five aspects of their sprint: length, beverage of choice, weather, time of day, and genre they plan to read. To support them do a sprint matching at least one of these aspects. You could do your sprint on a cloudy day like Margaret, read some Chick Lit like Lory, drink water while reading like Ray, etc. When you finish the sprint report your results in the thread (form below) and we'll add your pages to the Support Sprint spreadsheet.

As a team mini-game these Support Sprints are outside of Wobble proper and therefore will NOT garner any extra points. That being said they'll be great motivation to read and will hopefully up our score by helping us finish more books. Participation is optional but we hope you'll join us! :D

The Nitty Gritty:

● The sprinting ground is now open and will close on Wednesday the 20th at 11pm London time. This is two days before the end of Olympics, so you can use the Olympic countdown clock to count down. (But to two days, of course, not zero.)

● A sprint is defined as a period of sustained reading. For this event you may sprint from one to six hours, in one hour increments. Longer sprints are harder to sustain so you may take a break if you must, but the entire sprint must be completed within a twelve hour time frame.

● While the official sprint doesn't accept page counts from ebook percentages we will. Do the conversion and post your result as pages. But to keep the playing field even no audiobooks, text readers, or other methods of speeding up reading will be allowed.

● You may read as many books as you like as long as you finish one book before starting another.

● Long sprints may cover a couple times of day - as long as part of your sprint is during the period you're using it's okay. We're not going to get picky about hours or anything like that, you know what morning and evening are. ;)

● You can tell us when you're starting your sprint (you might get someone else to join you!) but it's not required. When you finish post:

(cover of book/s read)
Length of sprint
Pages read
Sprinter you are supporting
Aspect you are matching (All sprinters and aspects can be found on the Support Sprint page of the spreadsheet. Feel free to elaborate with exactly what you drank, how the weather is, etc!)

Go forth and sprint like the wind! :D

WAIT! I was a weirdo and forgot to put an asterisk in front of the name when I renamed it and it disappeared :( Give me a little time and it will come back.

eta: The sheet is basically back, the last bits of info will be filled in shortly. Sorry about that!
