Omni-sack: I have done: H - Suggest an event/new feature for NBRC. Just sent the PM; will let you know when I hear back.

You're right. I double checked my maths and if we finish either Heat 3 or 4 for E2 bonus, the points are more per book than E1 bonus. Yay! I can stop banging my head against the chains spreadsheet, haha.
Super excited that Chariot decor isn't a bonus round. Those net the most points and will likely be open before the bonus rounds. Woo-hoo!
Kazen wrote: "Tammie - A Lead book would be awesome, and more coaching books, too! It would be hard to get those coaching points otherwise. I like to have more than one book going at a time, so also currently reading:
Maybe for PJ (210 pgs) or for a Chariot decoration? A map?
Wow there's a lot going on.i'll catch up in the morning though. Just stopping by to say that I finally finished
The Doctor's Secret Bride by Ana E. Ross

Book into the distance- Arm.

Unpacking is nearly as awful as packing - I bet you're happy to have that (hopefully) over!
Have a look at the spreadsheet (link on the first page of this thread) to see what slots are left. And yup, fighting books are now open for coaching spots in the sprint. Just fighting, though, of the MMA/Martial Arts/Boxing variety. :)
Pragya wrote: "Hey guys, I wanted to tell you all I might not be able to read or check in much in the next 2-3 days, so if you need to shift my books up so others can read and complete, no problem! School starts ..."Thanks so much for the heads up! The only book I see you down for is Second Chance Summer for Distance - we'll swap it out if need be but I think you'll be fine. Good luck with all the school stuff!
Tori wrote: "Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been off the grid. I've been working and playing pokemon...anyway I finished Sentinel by Jennifer L Armentrout (has anyone noticed a theme) I'm 100pgs into ..."Thanks for checking in! I put Sentinel in for PJ as I didn't see it slotted for anywhere else - once you finish Golden Son your required books will be finished, yea!
I like how this challenge lets us pick and choose which events we want to concentrate on so we can cater to each of our strengths :)
Ray (user2637) wrote: "Omni-sack: I have done: H - Suggest an event/new feature for NBRC. Just sent the PM; will let you know when I hear back."That's excellent - great work! :)
And no banging of head over chains! Let's take the path of least resistance to most points. :D
Tammie wrote: "Ok...il read Lace & Lead next...if you want me to read something besides a coaching book let me know, I should finish LnL on Wednesday."Sounds great! We're over the worst part of the "oh my gosh we need to fill this hole" phases, so I'm sure that'll be just fine. :) Let us know how the books are!
Ray (user2637) wrote: "I like to have more than one book going at a time, so also currently reading:

Not sure about a chariot decoration (is it a globe? a map? ...lunch?) but it should slot into PJ just fine.

The page count thing is weird, considering they're both the kindle edition. Is there a preview of another book at the back, by any chance? Those can be left out of the goodreads page count.
That makes two complete throws for Distance, yea!
Yes! It feels good. Even if we do have some boxes left at least it isn't the whole house anymore, and having to weave through all the stuff to go use the restroom is over. Hehe. Will check spreadsheet and some fighting books out:) thanks
Yea Margaret! I'm so glad other people like MMA, etc. romances, not quite my thing, hehe. If there's ever a paranormal task I'll be all over it, though! ;)
Kazen wrote: "Yea Margaret! I'm so glad other people like MMA, etc. romances, not quite my thing, hehe. If there's ever a paranormal task I'll be all over it, though! ;)"I surprise myself sometimes with what I can find in my TBR. I was actually looking for a book to fit the shorter Page Jumping tasks, and thought I would read this one (its 187 pages). When I went to mark it as 'currently reading', I read the synopsis and thought - wow MMA romance - Ok, let's go with that :)
Kazen wrote: "Rose wrote: "Finished

Oooo, what did you think? I read this a while ago and had mixed feelings."
Me too. I have it at three starts now, but I'm thinking of notching it down. It had such a cool premise, but I didn't enjoy reading it, and the characters felt off.
Rose - that's just how I felt! The idea is great but the characters are enh, the plot is enh, and I didn't feel engaged enough to want to continue. Verdict: enh. ;)
Finished
Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
418 pages
July 7, 2016
Task: Event 2: Heat 1 - Leg 3 (401-450)
Also I think I got a little confused with the rules for sprinting. Am I allowed to tell you guys that I finished my sprint or do the mods tell you guys? If so I finished my sprint Sunday. I was looking through the spreadsheet and seen it wasn't mark as complete so I'm checking to make sure I didn't miss something.

Actually the 324 is from the prologue to the epilogue. The index, title, previews etc etc are all seperate. If those were included the page count would be somewhere around 380pgs.
Im 50% into my next book (though i finished that in the morning itself) since then iv been catching pokemon hahah. Anyone else playing pokemon-go? My brother (4yrs older than me) n i have been going crazy running around hahah
Question is who isn't playing Pokemon Go?!! LolMy husband will pull over from driving to catch them and everywhere I go I see people on their phones trying to catch um all haha

Haha ;) :D this sunday im getting all my cousins hooked on it. The more the merrier right? Plus morning walks are going to be so much more fun! I sent my brother to the supermarket for some stuff and i didnt evn have to bribe him (d supermarket is a pokemon hub ;) )
** though its been an hour and im strting to think sending him fr groceries wasnt the brightest idea lol
Haha he's gonna come back with all kinds of pokemon and hopefullly he remembers the groceries unlike my sister who went to the store for my mom and came back with nothing
Finished 7/12
Real, Katy Evans
320 pages
Coach-MMA
Overall OK...not my usual type of read...but I do want to read next in series. Lots of sex, well written...but could have been 50 pages shorter and still been good. Most others rated it 4⭐️...I gave 3⭐️
Will plan to read Mine (kindle version)...MMA Boxing after Lace and Lead...let me know if you prefer I read something else...it's no problem.
Pokemon Go, you all are so funny! :) I was a bit too old for Pokemon when it first hit my area, so I never got into it nor am I playing now. But reading the articles about it and seeing pictures online is entertaining. Did you see the one about the guy who caught a Pigeon (?) bird thingy on his wife's hospital bed while waiting for her C-section to start? Honestly, I probably would have installed it by now if my ipod wasn't too old -- can't upgrade ios to the version needed. Alas.
I am also unaware of the Pokeman Go phenomenon. My coworker was talking about it yesterday and I had no idea it was such a big deal! Sounds interesting though.
Oh, and there was a woman out looking for Pokemon in Washington or Oregon and she found a dead body!
Ray (user2637) wrote: "Omni-sack: I have done: H - Suggest an event/new feature for NBRC. Just sent the PM; will let you know when I hear back."I heard back from the Mods and was asked via PM which bonus we want. Captains - who will decide? These are the 3 Kazen listed as the most appealing. Let me know what to tell the Mods!
1. Someone else may read one of the 3 mandatory books for another person.
2. One bonus round of your choice may be opened up before completing the event.
3. One coach may read a sports book instead of a fight book.
ETA: There's a Omni-Sack bonus spreadsheet page now too, in the All Teams spreadsheet. Looks like they approved Margaret's submission as well, so we get to pick 2 prizes from the list. :)
heehe i used to watch pokémon as a kid and i remmber hoping that they were real lol. then i out-grew it but this morning my brother was going on and on about the gamed so i got it too and then i was hooked. gosh im so tired walking all over to catch them haha. and yea i did read about the dead body in the news paper .
Hmmm... I was going to go welcome 10 members to NRBC (for another Omni-sack prize) and saw this post by a Tapir. She welcomed 10 people in one fell swoop! Genius or testing the flexibility of the rules?

Did you want to give it a go Ray?
I am slightly unconvinced. :) Plus, it would just be the same 10 as she welcomed.... Instead, I'm trying to start a convo in the Land Teams thread. :D
Brianna wrote: "Also I think I got a little confused with the rules for sprinting. Am I allowed to tell you guys that I finished my sprint or do the mods tell you guys? I will check the spreadsheet, but I think I'm up next!!

You can totally tell us that you finished, just not how many pages you read or your times or anything like that. That way the whole fight is fair and no one can spy on other teams, hehe. Excellent work! :D
Ella wrote: "Actually the 324 is from the prologue to the epilogue. The index, title, previews etc etc are all seperate. Riah wrote: "I'm going for read Tortilla Flat by John Steinback for 201-250 page jumping:)"Sounds great! Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors... I'm reading his books really slowly so I don't run out, hehe. Let me know what you think, I haven't read this one yet!
