We don't get credit until we input two books for each task, so we've been holding back on entering some until we have optimal placement. We also get new tasks soon (the last set of picks), and we don't want to place bonuses before those are known.
Expect many teams to fluctuate wildly in the last days of the challenge.
Sam wrote: "When will our next guesses be?"Sorry, didn't see this. Tonight or tomorrow (we are waiting on the window to open). If anyone has any suggestions, we would love to hear them. Right now we are just thinking we might fill some of those obvious ship shaped holes and see what that gets us :)

Which was not good at all. Solid " would have been a DNF" territory."
Grah! I'm reading a "would have been a DNF" book too... I hope it's not catching....
To answer some questions re: Battleship:Friday (early NA, late Asia/Aussie) is another round of 10 guesses for the board. We sank all our ships and don't have any leads... but we do have some conveniently ship-shaped holes so we'll be aiming at them. :D After that we will have one last round of 10 guesses, so hopefully we can still sink a lot of ships!
Like Rose said we have some books that we're holding in reserve to see if we can use them towards the new tasks. Once we commit them to squares expect our point total to go up and up. :)

Margaret came up with the most amazing set of guesses guys - three cheers for her mad analysis skillz! Here's what it looks like:
Disregard the speech bubbles at the top, we'll be using all ten of these as our guesses. I'll be straightening out the spreadsheet and firing these shots over the next hour or so, and I'll post an update as soon as I can. :)
~runs off to the spreadsheet with a slightly maniacal grin on her face~
~returns from the battleThat was very informative! We found a lot of places where ships aren't. :P We still got three hits and some new genres to play with - check out the goals post at the top of the page for details. Now I'm going to figure out the most advantageous way to enter our banked books so we get the most points... read like the wind, everyone!
My 2nd book is done! What an incredible series....

LOL - always good to know where the ships aren't.... I think that's great to get another 3 hits - we have a lot of reading to do!!
So, I just got DarkFever Darkfever from the library. Are there any issues if I read a book that has already been read, as long as there are slots open? I also have a lot of books I plan to read! Power through the weekend!

Uggggh, I just did that painful thing of abandoning a book even though I was over 200 pages in. T_T It was only 55% though, and my lack of will to read it put me into a reading slump, boo! Now that I have that mental weight lifted I'm soooo happy to dive into Darkfever, espeically after everyone's glowing recommendation :)

I am working on a non-fiction chemistry book at the moment. Hopefully adding more books. Tammie, so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine. I think we all say, take your time and don't worry about reading.
Finished
You guys are making me think I should go back and attempt Darkfever again. I tried to read it at one point, but the dialogue style in the first few chapters didn't click with me.

I normally also don't like first person narratives, but it's the action and witty dialogue between the characters that made this book a 4 star read for me (and continue with the series). I hope you enjoy it ...
I am almost finished with the diary of ann frank for non fiction Category if it is still needed. Starting beautiful disaster next I think.

It must be a sad books week for me...tear.
Red Pandas - Sorry that I haven't been reading on coming to the thread in the past couple of days. I had a miscarriage and just wasn't in the mood to read. I just started picking my books back up about an half hour ago.
I am so sorry, it must be heart breaking. Don't rush back in if you need to take a break. we will understand.
