Jason wrote: "Oops! Sorry, I just joined this discussion. Is it too late to sign up for a team?"I think they're still accepting people on the waiting list to act as replacements - you can do that at the sign up thread over here :)
I had a lot of catching up to to because I just got married yesterday! Yeah, it was a lot of fun with a lot of tears.So.. question, do we sign up for the misses too? I think I'm too late to sign up for a hit now. :(
Oh wait, I was a reading through the posts and Margaret's book can also count for Science Fiction. If maybe you could transfer her to the first hit and I'll take over horror? I have a horror book that I will read first.
The time is upon us - Let's Wobble!
A bunch of information has been added to the first few posts of this thread, so if you have any questions take a look - you may just find the link/tidbit you need. :D

Congrats! I cried like crazy during my wedding but it was totally worth it. I asked the makeup lady if she had any tips on how not to cry and she said, "Don't bother. Just enjoy stuff as it comes." :)
Back to books... nah, let's not sign up for misses. Reading for a hit, even if it's taken, is a great idea because then we can use it for bonus points once the first two books are read. Bwahahaha! :D
Kazen: I started crying when it was my dad's time to speak. Lol but true, you just have to bask in the moment and not care about crying.Yay! I'll start my book now. Did you see my suggestion about the shift of Margaret's book to science fiction? That's if she agrees. :) I'm going to start reading Daughters Unto Devils
I think I'll shift it to science fiction now... she's a co-captain so she can curse me out in the captain's lounge if she doesn't like it, hehehe. ~sneaks off, not looking guilty in the least~
Hi Team,OK, here's a visual of our board with our hits and misses:
From the rules: Ships are only vertical or horizontal
Hidden on the board are:
1 Battleship (5 squares)
2 Cruisers (4 squares each)
3 Frigates (3 squares each)
4 Minesweepers (2 squares each)
5 Submarines (1 square each)
We didn't hit any subs, so for our next guesses, we just need to decide where next to our hits we pick :)
Kazen wrote: "I think I'll shift it to science fiction now... she's a co-captain so she can curse me out in the captain's lounge if she doesn't like it, hehehe. ~sneaks off, not looking guilty in the least~"
LOL - I am happy to change my book to whatever task you need it to be - it is why I picked it because we could use it for so many of the tasks.
Margaret wrote: "Hi Team,OK, here's a visual of our board with our hits and misses:"
This board is a thing of beauty! I ❤ it so :D
Sam wrote: "For the next guesses, can the books we've read (during the challenge) be used to fulfil the task??"As far as I understand it, yes! As long as they haven't been used elsewhere. Bwahaha. :)
eta: Once we move on to the next part of Wobble unused finished books don't carry over, though. Only the books finished during a particular Wobble section count for that section. It's okay to start a book in Battleship and finish it in the next task, though. Clear as mud? ;)
Kazen...thank you for being patient with all of our questions...this is going to be fun! If none of us like horror...maybe we could find some shorter reads so we can be sure those spots are read.
Tammie - My pleasure and yes, this is going to be sooooo much fun! We managed to find books that will count as horror so everything's covered there. All that's left to do is read our hearts out until Monday, when we get another round of guesses :D
Kate wrote: "I had a lot of catching up to to because I just got married yesterday! Yeah, it was a lot of fun with a lot of tears.So.. question, do we sign up for the misses too? I think I'm too late to sign ..."
Congratulations Kate...I hope you take some time to enjoy this time! It only happens once...;)
Kazen, 本当にありがとうございます。これからもよろしくお願いします。By the way, foreign language books are acceptable too, right?
サム
Tammie: Thanks! I'm enjoying the moment as much as I can! Happy reading to you!I'm almost done with my book. I'm glad I'm on vacation right now so I can focus on my readings.
Kazen, I'm loving it so far. I've been home from work for about 2 hours. I'm on part 2.If no one is really wants to read a horror book, I'll read one. I love horror books and have one on my tbr. So if one person reads a horror, I'll read the other.
Okay, I just finished Just One Day! I really wanted to hate it (yeah, that's right. I can't stand books where a guy comes and sweeps a girl off her feet), but I actually liked it. I've put it on my wobble 2016 shelf, but where do I post it? Is there a books read thread I'm missing or do I just post it here?
I rechecked the first page, got the answer:)
Just One Day by Gayle Forman
Date read: 18/6/16
Number of pages: 369
Task you're reading for: B1, romance.
I hope I did that right^.
Sam wrote: "By the way, foreign language books are acceptable too, right?"Yup! They just need to be listed on goodreads and meet all the usual requirements (100+ pages, etc).
Brianna wrote: "If no one is really wants to read a horror book, I'll read one. I love horror books and have one on my tbr. ..."As long as you're reading for one of the hit tasks we'll be fine - we had more people volunteer for horror than I was expecting! Read what makes you happy :)
Riah wrote: "I would love to read a horror book as well. But I know it'll be towards bonus points correct?"Yup! Delicious bonus points. :D Or perhaps a future task depending on the timing.

I'm hiding the misses under a spoiler so we can concentrate on HITS! If your name is not on the list fear not - just read for a hit and we'll be able to use your book for bonus points, yea! :D

Melissa wrote: "Sorry I just realised I haven't picked a number. I've had three exams this week so I've been a bit out of the loop! Can I just pick any random square?"The exams went well! I still have one more to go and unfortunately it's winter down here in NZ! Could I choose A4? Is there any way of knowing if a book has been shelved by 10 people? I don't think I have a shelf for Wobble. I'm pretty new to this website -- what do I include on the shelf?
Sydney wrote: "I can read a mystery book."Excellent! Lots of mystery and horror going around...
~shivers~
While waiting for my science fiction book to get to me from the library, I have started reading Beyond The Promise. Its a romance but it won't meet the bonus points because only 5 people have shelved it as romance - good grief!!
Its the last of my pre-Wobble library books so, for all my other reads, I will make sure they at least meet one of the hit tasks. Hopefully we will be able to use it when we get our new batch of "hit" tasks.
For what its worth, it does match up with the following miss task, in case someone else reads a book for it too:
J1 - miss - read a book where author's first and last names have same initials
Melissa wrote: "Could I choose A4? Is there any way of knowing if a book has been shelved by 10 people? I don't think I have a shelf for Wobble. On the right side of a book's page there's a listing of "genres". At the bottom of that click "see top shelves" and a list will come up. I end up using the find feature (Ctrl+F in firefox) to see if a genre is on the page - if there are 10 or more people shelving it you're golden.
To make a shelf - go to My Books, and on the left hand side click "add shelf". Many people have been naming their wobble shelves, well, "wobble" or "challenge", but you can use anything you like. Once you do that post back here what the shelf is called so I can get it in the spreadsheet.
When you finish a book first shelve it as "read" (of course! hehe) and then also shelve it as your wobble shelf. This way the spreadsheet will import the data and make things easier for us captains. :)
Hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesn't!

This is perfect and our first book of Wobble, woo-hoo!
~runs to the spreadsheet~
eta: Oh! And while I remember - be sure your next book is for a different task! Each person can only do each task once.

Only five people?! Geesh! It may require a little maneuvering but we'll fit it in somewhere :) And thanks for the info on the miss, that will be a nice backup option.

Daughters Unto Devils by Amy Lukavics
Date read: June 18, 2016
# of Pages: 304
This is for H5 - horror genre type of book
Pragya wrote: "Okay, I just finished Just One Day! I really wanted to hate it (yeah, that's right. I can't stand books where a guy comes and sweeps a girl off her feet), but I actually liked it. ..."
I liked this book too! There wasn't much action in the book, but I still liked it. Are you planning to read the the sequel of this book. Let me know what you think!

Way to go, Kate!
Quick question for you - when you go to the book's detail page, what day does it show you as having finished? Today's the 18th and in the spreadsheet it's showing up as the 19th for some reason... I'm trying to figure out if this is international time line weirdness, goodreads weirdness, or spreadsheet weirdness. ;) Thanks!
I read this book on the 17th, it's in Vietnamese but the original is 窓際のトットちゃん (Totto-chan: The Little Girl by the Window). Hopefully counts in the future?
Kazen: It says 18th on mine. Time zones can make it confusing! I'm not sure why it is happening. Lol
Sam wrote: "I read this book on the 17th, it's in Vietnamese..."From the rules, "◈ Any book in any language will count, as long as it meets the criteria."
So yup, that's totally fine. It's over 100 pages (English edition 232 pages) and meets all the other requirements as far as I can see. This one was started before the challenge and doesn't count, of course, but your next one will provided it meets requirements. :)
