I'm in for this one!

Adding to the schedule :)

Thanks for adding, Pink!

I think I might join that!

Thank you, Pink.

And happily it looks like our buddy read of Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin can be canceled. It is ahead in the polls now for our March Group Read. So is Chess Story. Looks like a buddy read was just the push we needed to get these books to win a poll.

I was thinking the same thing!

I'd say it's exiting to have them in the polls … ! :)
Though they aren't really doing well … :(

I’m thinking of using audio too. Have you ever listened at a faster rate? I usually end up at 1.5x

Oh I like Miriam Margolyes, I’ve never listened to an audiobook narrated by her though. I hope it’s good!

Pink, I'm also going for the LibriVox audiobook, Version 3, read by Mil Nicholson. When I sampled it he sounded like a pretty good reader.
After looking at the chapter lengths, I think I will try to listen to a chapter/day (maybe more if they're short) and plan to finish by the end of April. That kind of plan has worked for me before, doesn't push me too much, and still allows me to read & listen to other books. That way I don't feel bogged down by having to read & finish Bleak House in a rush.
Someone was mentioning listening at a faster rate. I don't usually do that because I don't like the hurried feeling I get when I hear the voice going so fast -- but when I get close to the end or if a book starts to get draggy and I'm ready for it to be over, then I do speed it up!
I'm excited & ready to begin! :)

Here's the link to the spoiler thread we'll be using for Bleak House. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Can you please add Laughing Boy: A Navajo Love Story to the schedule for April and set up a thread?
So far, there are three of us joining in this Buddy Read (Brina, Marilyn and me). We would love to have others join us. This book won the Pulitzer Prize in 1930.
Thank you!

All done :)

Lori and I are planning to read Riders in the Chariot by Patrick White starting mid-April. We would be pleased to have anyone join who might be interested.
Pink--do I set up the thread or do you need to?

I will probably start earlier than that. I am not a very fast reader.

You may set up the thread if you like, or ask a moderator and we will do it for you. Either works.
