Quirky, offbeat romance with mystery/suspense

Enough twists and turns to satisfy an Indie driver.

Did a reread of The Outsiders this week, which I have not read since middle school. Talk about a book that still resonates -- both since it was originally published and since I last read it. Of course, now I'm wanting to see the movie again, too.

I really liked Beautiful Creatures when I read it a few years ago. The movie was awful, but the book was excellent!

I actually liked the movie. It was the book I couldn't get through the first time or two I tried to read it. I just gave up on the book and watched the movie right around the time it either came out on DVD or not long before and it was still in theaters

Agree -- liked the book, movie was awful. Which is probably why they never made another one.

Ahhh, then you are in for a treat. It was one of the few books read by my book club at the time that we All liked.

Uncharacteristic of me, but I have four books going right now. One is a cozy, and the other three non-cozies:
Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs (on ereader)
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (on a different ereader)
I Need a Lifeguard Everywhere But the Pool by Lisa Scottoline (Hardcover book of essays, reading a few between other books)

I adored A Monster Calls

Under the Banner of Heaven is a great book. Read it several years ago.

Thanks. I'm enjoying it so far. I needed a true crime book for my Bookriot challenge.

I'm still reading

Reading Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson..first book I've read by him. He does have a lot to say doesn't he! lol....But I do see what the hype is around him is all about now. He is a great storyteller. Taking a break now though for the read-a-thons I'm doing but hoping to get back to him after they're over.

Finished it last night. Loved it, but definitely needs a tissue warning.
