Sarah Dunant is one of my favourite writers. I've read all her books set in Italy, and especially loved Sacred Hearts

Marina, that certainly is a tough read but well worth it in the end. Probably one of the two most haunting books I have ever read.

Marina, it was AU author Elliot Perlman novel about the Holocaust The Street Sweeper.

Finished Passenger and rated it 2*, I just couldn't get into it. Now halfway through Acid Row and loving it! There's a sense of urgency right from the beginning that draws you in and intensifies as you delve further into each characters' motivations. I'll rate it when I'm finished

Last night I started The Secret River by Kate Grenville (paperback kindly given to me by Marianne in our last bookswap, thank you Marianne!) and this morning I started Out of the Ice by Ann Turner on my kindle. It's a mystery set in Antarctica - very good so far :)

This is also available as an ebook (epub version) from some libraries. It is available in WA. I have had to place a request for it tho. Also placed a hold on Searching For The Secret River, the book she wrote about writing the book. Really looking forward to that as an historian and writer myself. Will get to check out your review first tho Carolyn.

She told me that she feels she can't let those characters go either, so "perhaps they might make an appearance in future books"!
