Recently Purchased/Acquired book/s - part 2

Me too - so looking forward to it!

Well done! They are sending me a copy of Preservation by Jock Serong :D
Brenda I just started my copy of The Lost Man and I reckon it'll be a very quick read! Will be eager to compare notes!

Well i did get one book from a Norwegian author with a Brit translator from the library. Part 1 of 6. Sadly my library doesn't have all 6 parts :D

Unfortunately that's no good to you as they are only for Australian addresses.
And if you're a prolific reader/reviewer like Brenda, well, they just send them to you.
Sometimes I get books by begging/cajoling the publishers (works if I have read/reviewed more of their books, spread the word around and they are small publishers)
And entering comps on Facebook/Twitter etc
Good luck!

Many thanks Marianne, I'll have to try those things! xx

I emailed Pan Macmillan Aus earlier this year and asked how I could go about becoming a regular reviewer for them. They asked for links to my GR and blog, how many followers I have etc. Then added me to their list! :) So I think if you can show the publishers that a lot of people are reading your book opinions, they will add you to their reviewer list. :)

The Year of Reading Dangerously: How Fifty Great Books Saved My Life by Andy Miller $3

I was stunned when I was approved for that one and The Craftsman by Sharon J. Bolton overnight. It's St Martins Press and they always decline! I'm glad I didn't give up asking ;)

And then, when I got home, my copy of The Fragments had arrived from Text.
