Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 944 comments How do you get publishers to send you books? I have completely run out of money to buy any (even from charity shops) and the library has nothing - and goodreads has no more UK giveaways.

Well i did get one book from a Norwegian author with a Brit translator from the library. Part 1 of 6. Sadly my library doesn't have all 6 parts :D

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments Jazzy, since the whole GR giveaway thing fell through (for everyone except the US, it seems), a few Australian publishers (Allen&Unwin, Text), or the Australian branches of international publishers (Simon&Schuster Australia), have set up giveaways via the Aussie Readers group see https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... and https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
Unfortunately that's no good to you as they are only for Australian addresses.
And if you're a prolific reader/reviewer like Brenda, well, they just send them to you.
Sometimes I get books by begging/cajoling the publishers (works if I have read/reviewed more of their books, spread the word around and they are small publishers)
And entering comps on Facebook/Twitter etc
Good luck!

I emailed Pan Macmillan Aus earlier this year and asked how I could go about becoming a regular reviewer for them. They asked for links to my GR and blog, how many followers I have etc. Then added me to their list! :) So I think if you can show the publishers that a lot of people are reading your book opinions, they will add you to their reviewer list. :)

And then, when I got home, my copy of The Fragments had arrived from Text.
