Brenda wrote: "Well done Elaine! Some great pick ups there :)"Thanks Brenda. I was pretty chuffed. I did go in saying I'll only buy books on my TBR but then I couldn't resist. And the price!!!
Michael wrote: "Great haul there Elaine. Some great picks up there. :)"Thanks Michael. I'm just glad people in Hastings donate some great books or maybe they come from elsewhere and people in Hastings don't read!! Lol.

You're far enough away that I don't mind if you got bargains I could have had ;)
Well done!

Ha,ha!! You're funny Marianne. I didn't even think of that. I was just rapt that all these great books were there waiting for me to give them a good home. :)
Michael wrote: "Have you started any of them Elaine? My pick would be the Lisa Unger one. :)"No not yet Michael. I have so many books to read before I can even think of starting any of these but I might start with that one as I have heard good reviews about it and just read your review so it does come pretty highly recommended.
I downloaded a few new books: The Sam Reilly Collection, Exiles in Time, Anti-Romance, Dark Realms, Operation Date Escape, Truly, Madly, Greekly, Open Minds, Offside, Blaze, Third Time Lucky: The Honey Trap, Tangled Tides, Rough Around the Edges Meets Refined, Qualify, Fall DeepAnd my Mum gave me lots of books when I went to visit last weekend: The Tide of War, The Bat, Blood on Snow, The Assassin's Blade, The Rouseabout, The Girl and the Ghost-Grey Mare, The Farmer's Wife, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, A Crucible of Souls, Blood of Innocents

Congrats Veronica :)
Congrats Veronica :)
Veronica wrote: "Received by Goodreads win The Sudden Appearance of Hope by Claire North"Lucky girl! Mine is on reserve at the library, though eventually I will doubtless buy one....
As I enjoyed The Extra Ordinary Life of Frank Derrick, Age 81 (still to write the review...) I picked up Frank Derrick's Holiday of A Lifetime from the library today. Also Black Jade which will probably go to the friend who introduced me to this series, first, when we have our little book club tomorrow.
I've used the last of my Mother's Day book voucher and bought:
Satin Ice (The Delaneys, #12) by Iris Johansen
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys - a few of you have given this rave review.
Running Barefoot by Amy HarmonSo not a bad morning for book shopping
I bought myself Outlander by Diana Gabaldon for my Kindle last night. I got hooked on the TV program, and decided that I'd better red it too! Hopefully it'll be even better :)
....and I had a little splurge on Brotherhood yesterday Brenda so I think it only right that you get into the spirit of it too ;)
Will post my spoils when they arrive, I'm told they are already in transit so probably ♫♪♩monday morning ♩♫♪ :D
LOL! Every single time I check Brotherhood they don't have what I want! Even Deborah Challinor - never heard of her!
Brenda wrote: "LOL! Every single time I check Brotherhood they don't have what I want! Even Deborah Challinor - never heard of her!"That's because they rely on donations and people don't give up their Deborah Challinor books ;)
I use them to find the harder to come by "older books".
Ahh...maybe that's it. Though the ones I am after are the older ones - Kitty series and Tamar trilogy...

Thanks heaps! I worked out how much it would cost if I bought the ones I wanted from Booktopia - over $100!!!

Oh dear, oh dear Abebooks sent me a voucher and just look what happened....
and
They are all books I really want and have wanted for a while, they all count to my 2016 challenge and there is little chance I could have got them any way but buying them. So I am pretty excited...
Brenda wrote: "Ahh...maybe that's it. Though the ones I am after are the older ones - Kitty series and Tamar trilogy..."Brenda, can the book whisperer help? Need a list....

Good luck (good condition please:) ) and thanks!

I picked up Ned Kelly, Australian Son in a used book shop in Braidwood yesterday. Its got a copy of the Jerilderie Letter in it, what a great find.
I agree. Ive almost finished The True Story of Ned Kelly's Last Stand which is about the archaeological dig of the siege site in Glenrowen.Very interesting book if you enjoy reading about history.
Thanks Brenda.Ive always loved history and enjoy reading non-fictions as well as historic fictional books.
Melanie wrote: "I picked up Ned Kelly, Australian Son in a used book shop in Braidwood yesterday. Its got a copy of the Jerilderie Letter in it, what a great find."That's a great find Melanie! At Braidwood too...Ned K. probably rode through there at some stage ;)
Carolyn wrote: "Sounds like your Mum likes to read as much as you Kiera!"That's where I get my passion for reading from.
Woohoo, my postie just delivered my order from Brotherhood...very excited with this lot :))From my wish list:
So Much for That by Lionel Shriver..as recommended by GR friends :)
The Hand That First Held Mine by Maggie O'Farrell..also on wish list and recommended by Marianne.
Nothing Gold Can Stay by Ron Rash..because I haven't read any of his yet and really want to ;)
Queen Of Dreams by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni...it sounds good.
The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes...on wish list.
Riding The Bus With My Sister: A True Life Journey by Rachel Simon...Memoir.
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng..wish list, recommended by Carolyn.
Clearly my NetGalley abstinence diet hasn't curbed my appetite enough to stop me from sneaking into Brotherhood books to quell my wish list cravings, and satisfy my hunger for more books! :P
in the mail today from Text I’m Thinking of Ending Thingsalso from Brotherhood, for a BookMooch friend in California
