3.5 'cute and sweet' stars

Fall Deep is #4 in the SEALs Undone series but can totally works as a standalone. It is short, cute and sweet. The perfect reading material for a day out on a beach or a night in cuddle with your dog.

Miles and Piper met on the day before he is suppose to deploy back to the warzone. However, the distance didn't stop them from getting in touch and knowing each other more deeply.

Piper is a girl without a sense of direction in life. Backpacking through Europe, she hope to do some soul searching, but she ended up getting a military boyfriend instead.

I love this cute little read and enjoy the challenges this young couple face with the distance and constant worry for his well-being. The only thing that I think could be better is regarding Piper's life goal. I wish she had a more convincing career choice for me to root for her.

"I love my job. But I love being with you too. And when I'm gone, you're with me. I take these memories we make and I will hold them close."

I really liked this one but it was soooo short!

The characters were engaging and I really really fell for Miles (although it took a while for his name to stick for me! He just didn't sound like any Miles I ever met lol) Loved the long distance thing, their instant connection and how natural they were together. This all happens literally overnight but it worked for me. Piper and Miles were great together. Wish we could have gotten more though!!

Another cute listen of these Seals Undone audiobooks. Good story, this one was completely different than the other two I’ve read in this series (I’ve read them out of order), it dealt with the couple’s meet cute and getting to know each other long distance. I’ve said cute a few times and that is literally the best way to describe this book, cute. Low angst, easy read, takes about 2 hours to get through (I listen to audiobooks at 1.5x as I find them slow otherwise). I didn’t love how the female character dropped all her plans for the guy, how at the end she was signed up for a life of waiting for him between missions. I guess that’s how military relationships work but the author framed things like her job and travel blog as ‘a way to keep busy during his deployments’ which felt like her whole life and future were meant to revolve around him - so not my thing. I would have liked her to continue with her travels and have plans to travel without him, I mean he had 6 month deployments, why would she just wait around in their house doing yard work? Anyway cute story, nice break from longer more emotional books.

Exactly the kind of romance set up that I don't really like, but worked well for me in the right hands.

4.0+ RATING- I really like this series and loved Fall Deep. Zoe York always does a great job of providing a full story in a novella length book. There's not a ton of room for development but the overall story always works well.

Fall Deep had two characters that were easy to like. Their chemistry together was cute and the entire story was very sweet. Definitely a case of instant attraction but totally worked for me. I'm kind of disappointed it wasn't longer. I could have read more about these two characters. Cute ending. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Zoe York has out done herself with this wonderful book! It's emotional, sexy, and gripping. Once I started reading there was no putting it down. It's wonderfully written and the characters of Miles and Piper will intrigue you through their whirlwind romance. The connection they have can be felt regardless of the miles between them and that connection jumps from the page. This is a book I highly recommend.

It's kinda cute. Same issues as with the last books. They're just kind of there - nothing that makes me excited to read it.

Piper (traveler) meets Miles (military dude) while she's working at a pub. They have a hot kiss and chemistry, but he's leaving the next day on a mission. So they make a little time to chat while he's away. He's injured and she finally gets to see him and they have sex. It's ok, sweet.

They both go back to Coronado and eventually get married.

That's the entirety of the book.

I freaking LOVE Zoe York books. No silly non-sense, no stupid behavior, just people falling in love in complicated situations and dealing with the issues as they come, like ture, reasonable people.the mature adults they are. And even though novella Fall Deep is short on pages, there’s no shortage of heart OR heat.

Piper is 24 and still trying to figure out what to do with her life. (Sidenote: I could completely relate to this heroine...I’m on my way to sliding into 50, and I still don’t know what I want to do with my life!). After saving for years, she’s now embarked on a one year backpacking trip around Europe. During one of her extended stops she gets a job in a pub as a bartender. It’s there that she meets 30 year old Navy SEAL Miles, the night before he’s heading back out on another tour in the Middle East. Before Miles leaves, he gives her his email address, leaving the fate of their continued relationship in her hands. It takes several days for her to talk herself into it, but she finally contacts him.

I absolutely LOVED Piper and Miles and their relationship!!! Get this...they didn’t spend the night together before Miles left. Now I know the one night stand is all hot and exciting, but for me, it’s far more romantic when the emotional bond develops and is strengthened before the physical one. I love a hero who is willing to play the long game and is ruled by his heart instead of his hormones. The chemistry and yearning between Piper and Miles was so sweet and SO SO SO romantic. It made their reunions that much more meaningful and heartwarming.

I also really liked Miles. Usually, Navy SEALS are portrayed as the grunting, bossy, alpha-male types and I am SO over those. But I don’t believe Ms. York has ever gone there. Her heroes are definitely manly, but they have this quiet, not-over-the-top confidence and gentleness about them that makes me swoon. I loved how Miles was aware of how difficult it was for Piper to suddenly be thrust into a military relationship, but didn’t expect her to suck it up and adjust.

“Thirty-six hours,” she whispered, her lower lip trembling. Slowly, carefully, he lowered his face to hers and swiped that lip with his tongue, soft and gentle.
“And we’ll make every single one of them count.” He kissed her full on the mouth, then on the corner as he pulled back a couple of inches to see her face again. They weren’t going any further until they were both on the same page. “Okay, crash course in dating the uniform. Countdowns can be good and bad. It’s there. It’s always going to be there. Thirty-six hours until I go, five weeks until we see each other, six months to the next deployment. Sometimes ninety minutes to an unexpected mission. That’s my life. I love my job. But I love being with you, too. And when I’m gone, you’re with me. I take these memories we make and I hold them close when things get shitty.”
“I’m sorry,” she breathed, her eyes glinting bright.
Crying girl alert. Shit.
“Don’t be sorry.”
“I thought I was being cool.”
“You’re beyond cool, Piper...I derail your year-in-Europe plan and you just roll with it. I appreciate that you want to be happy-happy when we’re together, but if you’re not, inside, I want you to be honest with me, okay?”

GAH! Miles gave my tummy butterflies and if I’d been standing my knees would be weak!

So, a huge THANK YOU to Zoe York for, once again, preventing a headlong dive into a reading slump for a second month. And I knew she would. Every time I need a solid, feel good story I reach for a Zoe York book. This time, she managed to pack in all the feels, all the action, all the heat in a short number of pages. Fall Deep made me smile the whole time I was reading, and I can’t even tell you how happy that made me.

I admit it. I am a sucker for a quick romance novel. I've been reading several lately because I needed a break from some heavy reading and I have quite a few ones I downloaded for free from Book Bub.

It's what you expect. Boy meets girl, is captivated, but they must part. They can't stop thinking about each other, but his job as a Navy seal keeps them separated. They reunite, sparks fly, they make it work. The end.

Zoe York is a good writer and I enjoyed this escape.

I started reading this series right in the middle. That didn't really matter since each story can be read as a stand alone. I had no problem diving right in and enjoying this book.

Fall Deep was a military romance that dealt with deployment and long separations. Heavy subjects, but I liked the way they were handled. The forced separation between Piper and Miles made them communicate and support each other long distance, and I liked they were able to get to know each other in a non-traditional way. The story lacked action, but that didn't really bother me too much. There was also insta-lust, but I almost expected it since this is such a short book. This was a quick read that was sweet and romantic with a HEA. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

Piper is in Europe traveling for a year trying to decide what to do with her life. She gets a job at a nice pub to make some cash while staying in England. Miles is a Navy Seal on leave visiting his aunt in England. The minute he sees Piper he knows she's something special.

Miles and Piper end up spending a sweet evening together and decide to write/email since he's leaving the next day reporting back for duty. During the next several months we are witness to these two falling for each other through emails, texts and phone calls. Sometimes love finds you whether you're looking for it or not.

I loved both these characters. This is the fourth book in this series and so far my favorite. Both Miles and Piper are strong and independent and just perfect together. I enjoyed watching them slowly get to know each other and absolutely loved the ending.

I don't like this series as much as Ms. York's others I've read (Wardham, Pine Harbor) but they're still quick, entertaining romances. This one was a little strange, considering Miles and Piper spend more than half the book apart. Basically they meet, spend a few hours together, share some kisses, then he gets deployed. They mostly get to know each other via emails and phone calls. There was a lack of angst, which I appreciate when the book is short, just a little drama when Miles gets injured.

Zoe York takes her readers on a bittersweet voyage with Falling Hard. Miles and Piper's tale of unexpected love, separation and anticipation was a work of art. All through the story I was waiting to see if they could make this situation work. Emotion love story between star crossed lovers. Get the tissues ready. Was given an opportunity to read Falling Deep as a member of the author's street team.

Each book gets better

Miles and Piper meet in England when he's visiting his Aunt while on leave from the SEALS. Piper is there in stop while traveling across Europe to figure out her life plan. As she's working in a bar, she becomes aware of him just as he's become aware of her. They get to know each other after her shift. Although he's enamoured with her, Miles doesn't want to start anything because he's leaving the next day. They do end up emailing and keeping in touch as much as he can. I liked that there wasn't a lot of angst or misunderstanding each other and how they supported each other. I'm glad there are more books in this series. Even though you have mention of previous couples, each book can be read without reading previous books but you should since they are all great.

Piper and Miles are probably my favourites in the series so far but it might be because of the travel aspect behind how these two go together.

Piper is travelling Europe when she bumps into no other than another American, the very fine Navy SEAL, Miles Dumbrowski. From there they have everything that Zoe York writes well, insta-lust, steam and some added tension and drama. Piper and Miles have a very quick romance and in the process manage to visit some very scenic places, which thanks to Miles always wanting to ravish Piper, they don't manage to see much of.

The only thing with these books being so short is that there isn't much character development, especially side characters and unfortunately, one of my least fave tropes is insta-love. However, Zoe manages to pull off this trope in a not too cringe way.

Happily ever after!

I always fall for those men in uniform! A chance meeting in a pub in England brings two Americans together at a time when they are searching for their future or what they want their future to be. She is taking the summer off to backpack through Europe to figure out what she wants to do with her life when she meets the man who will quickly become her everything. An intense love story, fraught with danger associated with the perils of war, yet captivating in intensity. Great read!

Military romantic fun

Action, travel, romance and fun. The chemistry is noticeable from their first meeting. This story is different from the others because they meet n mother country and then build a relationship via email and text as he was deployed the day after they met.

Their interactions, concerns and overall character Persia kitties are very personable and the story was engaging and emotional from start to finish. There were some great secondary characters like his aunt Sue. Another great military romance!

-long distance relationship
-strangers to lovers
-insta love
-super cute and wholesome

I’m loving this entire series. I’ve noticed that as the series goes on each book has more and more scenes and detail about the military actions and more insight into the hero’s position as a Navy Seal, and this book so far has a lot more of that emotion and heartache that goes with deployment and safety and I loved reading about Piper and Miles’ development through that.

Love/Lust at First Sight

Piper was taking a break from while she backpack across Europe and gain a better of her true self. In England Piper takes a temporary job at a pub where she meets Miles and their instant attraction is mutual but it's Miles' last night in England before returning to his Seal team mission! Is their crazy attraction strong enough to enable them to build upon? You'll love the sizzle and fireworks as the romance plays out!

Fall Deep by Zoe York

In this entry in the SEALs Undone series, we follow the romance of Piper & Miles. Miles is in England visiting his aunt on his current leave & Piper is on a European trip to find herself. When they meet in the local pub that Piper is working at, sparks fly.

What happens when a SEAL falls for a girl who doesn't even know what she wants to do when she grows up?

Short, slowburn full of chemistry. Piper is visiting Europe trying to find herself. Miles is on leave, but going back on a mission as a Seals team member when he sees Piper in a bar. They have an instant connection, spend a few hours together before he leaves. Their relationship slowly evolves through short emails and phone calls. Loved it.

Oh, I love a good long distance relationship, and this was one of the good ones! A chance meeting just as he was being deployed had these two getting to know each other by email, chat, and phone calls. That didn’t stop the heat though, and through what wasn’t said, everything still built up. That meant when it all came together, the emotional bonds were there and the heat could be let loose!

Fun romp but seriously lacking

I liked that she got the gritty details right, but they didn't fall in love. They fell in lust and their courtship was way too brief for the marriage to last. They never talked about anything real, and as much as it was cute it was really shallow.
