Stage 2 consists of obstacles that test the competitors' strength and speed. Competitors must complete challenges that strain their upper-body strength (such as the Salmon Ladder) without running out of time. Just as in the first stage, only the competitors that finish within the time limit and without falling into the water move on to Stage 3.

Welcome Megan! I hope you enjoy it!Y'all gotta see Team Ninja Warrior. It's crazy. We're finally caught up on the episodes, and it's been so nuts.
Each week 4 teams of 3 members (2 guys and 1 girl) race the course together. They are side by side on 6 obstacles. It's so fast and entertaining. All the known guys were chosen to captain one of 24 teams and they pick one other guy and a girl. Every week has been so nuts and it's been fun to watch. If there was more interest in this, I'd do a team version.
I hope y'all get to see it. It's really good.

You just said you wanted to join. :) You can copy/paste one of the shorter summaries that someone has posted, like open up my spoilers and copy paste all that.
Then you just read a long and mark it when you complete each part. You can mark the book when you've read it, along with the day completed and rating if you wanna.

I don't have TV (well, I have Netflix) so I am unable to watch the show regularly. Of course, I can always find someone with access. ;-)

We just got rid of TV ourselves. Had a good deal last year but when it went back up, we decided it was enough. It can be found though, there's usually full episodes on YouTube.
We have Netflix too, I think just about everyone does these days. My Hubby is considering Hulu as well. I read or game more than I watch TV, so I can leave or take it all. I just wish there was a sports only streaming site. I mainly care about baseball and football. :)

Welcome! So sorry I missed your message before now. Posts are being buried so fast with Leprechaun. I hope you enjoy it! They are fantastic, aren't they? There are some great ladies that run the course as well. Last season saw the first females get up the warped wall. Now, with the team competition recently, there's been around 10 to do it! It amazes me.

I have 2 left on Stage 2, then it's the much harder Stage 3 for me! :)
So far, so good for me. I'm currently reading Voyager by Diana Gabaldon to fulfill the "3rd book in a series" obstacle. It's a very long book. ☺️ I'm also simultaneously reading other books that are not a part of this challenge. I have decided that the last book of the challenge is going to be a book I have started several times and put down every time. I am going to conclude this behemoth of a reading challenge with Anna Karenina.

Well done! :) I've been suck on Roulette Row for a while now cuz of Wobble. I'm just hanging three. AGH! hehe! I have the book picked out, just haven't read anything other than audios at night.I personally would say no on anything other than "hang" or "climb", but I'm going going to police you. :) It's your challenge, so if you want to do something like that I won't say it doesn't count. I'd be more ok with the past tense than compound words.
Ok so I read a book I did not finish, two actually but I wasn't using either one for this challenge. Do I still start over?

"Sasuke is a Japanese sports entertainment television special in which 100 competitors attempt to complete a four-stage obstacle course. An edited version, named Ninja Warrior, is screened in at least 18 other countries. To date, Sasuke content has been aired in 157 countries."
"American Ninja Warrior is a sports entertainment competition spin-off of the Japanese television series Sasuke, in which competitors try to complete a series of obstacle courses of increasing difficulty called "stages". The series began on December 12, 2009, in Los Angeles, with the top 10 competitors moving on to compete at "Mount Midoriyama" in Japan. Challenge begins when you sign up, using books completed after you've joined in. Runs for as long as needed, no time limit, but MUST be completed in order.
How to do this challenge ~
1: Pick a Contestant
----- These 5 guys were the contestants during the 2015 USA vs the World challenge and 2 became the first American Ninja Warriors in 2015. Choose your contestant by reading a book with the author or main character's first name being the same (spelling too) as the contestant you have chosen.
2: Read your Way through the course
----- Stage 1 has 8 obstacles. In Stage 1, each obstacle has FOUR choices to choose from in which you can read to get through that obstacle.
----- Stage 2 has 6 obstacles. In Stage 2, each obstacle has THREE choices to choose from in which you can read to get through that obstacle.
----- Stage 3 has 8 obstacles. In Stage 3, each obstacle has TWO choices to choose from in which you can read to get through that obstacle.
For Stages 1, 2 & 3 ~
*** Each stage AND obstacle MUST be read in order.
*** Choose just ONE option for each obstacle to read/do
*** If you are unable to finish a book, or you rate a book a 1, your contestant has fallen on the course. You must pick a new contestant and start the course over.
----- Stage 4 is Mount Midoriyama
*** You climb Mount Midoriyama by Spell-it-Out. Use TITLES to spell out ---
"Mount Midoriyama"
*** The spell-it-out does NOT have to be done in order.
*** As always, you may skip any "A, An or The"
*** Requires all new books, no books used already can count
*** If you are unable to finish a book, or you rate a book a 1, your contestant has fallen on the course. You must pick a new contestant and start the course over.
Earn your Emerald Coins with the Reading Challenges. Must Join a participating Reading Challenge on or after April 1, 2016. May date back to April 1st until June 1st 2016. After that, you must start from date joined for coins.
NOTE: For this specialized challenge (since so few joined in the beginning) those who joined since the start of this challenge (Feb 2016) may earn the coin. (New members to this challenge may still only date back until between April. After June must start from Date Joined in.)
