Ruth | 206 comments No, not ill! Just two kids making me crazy until 10 pm and then too tired to read more than a page or two. Even with today being a snow day (in November!) we are cleaning bedrooms to prepare for my parents' visit this weekend.

Maybe I will read some this weekend when they are here, because the kids love to visit with grandma and grandpa at their hotel. :)

So what's on your reading agenda for this weekend
I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

And also downloaded another Anthology called Night Shift, which has a story by a fav of mine Nalini Singh.

Exigency pretty intense
Looking forward to discussing it in January!!

Exigency by Michael Siemsen

message 365: by April (new)

April (april_h) | 159 comments Downloaded my copy of Exigency today. I'll probably wait to start it until next month. Also started reading Being Santa Claus: What I Learned about the True Meaning of Christmas by Sal Lizard. Got a great deal on it Black Friday shopping and couldn't hold off reading it. Deb, I loved the interview you did with Sal a few years back and saw you reposted it a few days ago. What a great book to get a person in the holiday spirit. Loving it so far!

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments I started "The Darkest Touch by Gena Showalter", over the weekend.

The Darkest Touch (Lords of the Underworld, #11) by Gena Showalter

It's part of a long time running series called "The Lords of the Underworld" Not as impressed as with others in the series. I think maybe it's been going on for too long. It feels in a way like your reading the same thing re-hashed over and over again.

I did some actual my own pile reading this weekend
I read our January Sci-Fi Exigency formulated our questions and am just putting the finishing touches on Michael's interview so stay tuned.
Exigency by Michael Siemsen

I'm almost finished with
Secret of a Thousand Beauties by Mingmei Yip

message 371: by Ang from OZ (new)

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments So I finished The Darkest Touch, nope didn't strike any chords with me. The main female character I just wanted to punch in the face for most of the book I found her annoying. Like I said before, I think the series has just gone on way to long. And to put bluntly, same shit, different book title lol!

Going to start Wickedly Wonderful, book 2 in the Baba Yaga Series today. This is from a new author I discovered this year.

Wickedly Wonderful (Baba Yaga, #2) by Deborah Blake

Currently reading Face of Betrayal by Lis Wiehl. Three female friends (an FBI agent, a TV reporter, and a prosecutor) use their positions to work together to solve a missing teen case. It's a good read so far.

message 374: by Ang from OZ (new)

Ang from OZ | 1690 comments I finished Werewolf in North Woods by Vicki Lewis Thompson. I started this series way back when the first book came out and then some how missed all the others. So I'm making my way through her "Wild about You" series now.

Werewolf in the North Woods (Wild About You, #2) by Vicki Lewis Thompson

And I'm going to read over the weekend, the third and final book in Sarah Fine's Guards of the Shadow Lands Series. I've really enjoyed this series, and the second book ended on somewhat of a cliff-hanger!!

Chaos (Guards of the Shadowlands #3) by Sarah Fine

April (april_h) | 159 comments Currently reading The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, which I picked up because I love the title and is proving to be a great read. Also reading Inconceivable by Carolyn and Sean Savage about an IVF procedure gone wrong.

Debbie, it's not my favorite of the Jury novels. I actually found parts of it quite annoying. You can read my review of it to see why. If you've never read her stuff before, I'd pick an earlier novel to get used to the characters.

Soon should be finishing up Paydown by Nick Stephenson. Has anyone read any of his books? There are several in the series and are frequently offered for free. Paydown is the prequel to the series, so I thought I'd read it first.

Just finished The Christmas Candle by Max Lucado. It was B&N's Free Friday book yesterday and it's still free if anyone is interested. It's an enjoyable, quick read for this time of year about a community coming together to experience miracles at Christmastime.

For a fairly short book, it was interesting enough to make me want to read the first in the series, which I downloaded sometime ago for free.

I've had less than 50 pages for the last four days. With my head hurting I haven't wanted to read much. It was a good read, very eye opening.
