Just like audio books. Get your book to that level of readability. I perform my books upwards, out loud, acting the parts out, upwards of twenty times before they go to publication. Some things sound right out loud that might not inside your head. Or vice versa. You're also looking for tone and pacing and cadence. I think it ultimately helps the reader to hear your words inside their head. A lot of my readers have expressed that they feel like they're in my books. I think this helps a book make a strong impression.(less)

It's a night journey through the forest where a young man meets the devil. The devil shows him what his neighbors, and his true love, are really up to. In the morning he returns, lives his life, grows old and is haunted by what he saw that night in the forest. Maybe it was just his imagination. Maybe it was real. We writers are like that young man, we've been to the dark parts of the forest and seen what goes on beneath the pale moonlight, if only in our dreams. And we are forever changed.(less)

Just some thoughts I developed after working on my latest PA Novel. Thought I might share.

In the very likely event that society does actually collapse the chances are it's not gonna be neat. As in... it might not happen with all your assets in order. Figures, it never does. In this instance "assets "might mean loved ones. Your loved ones might be abroad, in town, or stuck in the pandemonium of... Read more of this blog post »
