I am just thankful my little humans are both bigger than I am and can look after themselves.

My car was parked on a steep angle and didn't have enough gas to start. So I called my sister and fought with her while waiting for my knight.

Robby crossed the rainbow bridge last summer. He's been doing an awesome job watching over me since then. I was terribly sad for a while after it happened, kind of out of it even.
But I snapped out of it when I realized I needed to find another job (The boss didn't let me off work during the week I had to put him down or afterwards... And it seemed she would have us all work through the holidays while she had a fabulous vacation - she'd said so much. None of us had been able to take a vacation or sick leave since last spring when another team member left - she told us this on several occasions.). I ended up applying for some really awesome job opportunities. I was a contender for my dream job. When that happened I knew it wasn't enough. I needed family in my life again.
So. I turned in my 2 weeks notice at the beginning of November, moved to Texas during Thanksgiving week, and I'm on a job search now. My former coworkers got a break over the holidays (definitely would not have happened if I had not left). My favorite bit of all of this is being close to family again. I love being close to my sister and mother and nephews and feeling hopeful again. I'm paying off any debts I have and plan to go to grad school in a year. By then I should have established myself as a state resident and decided on what to study - I'm deciding between educational counseling, social work, psychology, and occupational therapy.
I'm sure I left big chunks out of that narrative, but you got the important stuff.
2015 is my year. I just know it. :) It's your year, too. I know that, as well.
Anywhooo...

And cheers to you and your fresh start.

I've been on the phone for 20 minutes now waiting to get an update about the status of my health insurance. I paid almost $1K for 3 months of coverage. The COBRA provider confirmed they received and processed this payment over a month ago and needed to send it to my former insurance company. My insurance coverage is still not active. This is rather frustrating. LOL.
Aaaaand the guy from the former insurance company (they've been awesome) just got on the phone with me to tell me my COBRA provider still has not sent them the payment. OH! Wait. They conveniently JUST sent it. It should be a few business days to process it. And they've been telling me they sent the payment almost a month ago. Liars.
I basically paid almost $1K for 5 days of medical insurance coverage.
Guess who's reported this to the Board of Insurance... :). Oh yes she did...

For whatever it's worth, this all may be frustrating, but none of it takes away from the joy of being near family again. That part is just flat out awesome. I suppose they're lucky they have fairly content and joyful Heidi to deal with rather than grieving, miserable, sad Heidi?
Also, I had the best night of sleep last night that I've had in almost a year. :) THAT is super great.
yesterday was a little nerve racking. My daughter drove my car by herself for the first time since getting her drivers license. She also went on her first date.
Yep, she is pretty much all grown up now. She was so little when I first join up here.
Plenty of grey hairs. It's now fashionable right?

Gray hair is cool. If it's gray and not that icky yellowish color mine is. Which is why I dye it.
i don't really know. She didn't say much. I didn't want to pry.
There is to be a second date, so it must have gone okay. :)

I had a snow day today. Work caught on and closed early. I made turkey tortellini soup and painted my nails.
I've never had a snow day. :'(

You want one or two? I'll share! Airfare on the other hand might be a bit steep for 'the experience'. Plus airplanes don't often fly in NA on 'snow days' anymore.
One would be nice CD, I might have to save up for the airfare. Do you know when they are coming? I could plan a few days ahead.

All mild weather down here, an very occasional hail storm just for a little variety.

I am so sorry Felix. ((hugs)) Are you okay?

All the best, my Dad died a little over two years ago.

It's a 'snow day' right now! Looking out from the front porch in the past hour. And more snow is expected - up to five fresh inches.

Best wishes for your dear dad, Felix.

I fell and broke a bone in my foot; these walking boot things are a serious pain in the foot. It's not healing properly and have a CT scan scheduled next week. Geesh.
