It started off very slow. But it is getting really interesting now.

I finished Stripped Raw by Prescott Lane and very much enjoyed it. Here's my review.

I also finished listening to What You Need by Lorelei James, Need You #1, and found it interesting but not a strong start of the series. Here's my review.

I'm now reading Why Mermaids Sing by C.S. Harris, Sebastian St. Cyr #3, and listening to Unlawful Contact by Pamela Clare, I-Team #3.

Britney, I highly recommend Maggie Shayne's Brown and de Luca series!! It's quirky, unconventional and mysterious with romantic elements. This was a diamond in the rough I discovered in 2014.
Sleep with the Lights On (Brown and de Luca #1) by Maggie Shayne Wake to Darkness (Brown and de Luca, #2) by Maggie Shayne Dream of Danger (Brown and de Luca, #1.5) by Maggie Shayne Innocent Prey (Brown and De Luca, #3) by Maggie Shayne Deadly Obsession (Brown and de Luca, #4) by Maggie Shayne

Susan, a few members are doing a buddy read of The Search right now. It's definitely one that hooks you right away.
The Search by Nora Roberts

message 111: by Susan (new)

Susan Sounfds good! Im pretty sure I have it!

message 112: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments Susan I would love to help you figure out which Nora book you would love to read first!! I don't know much about any other books lol but I know and love my Nora!
What do you like to read about? Softer? More intense? Lots of paranormal or just a little? Lots of action ?

Jonetta, thank you! I will look it up right now :)

message 113: by Susan (last edited Mar 05, 2016 11:09AM) (new)

Susan Ive started The Search and it hooked me right away. I love intesnse but not too much paranormal. I think im just burned out on it. I havent read Nora in a long rime. I think the last one I read was Black Hills........I have lots to catch up on!!!

message 114: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments The search is wonderful! One of my favorite of her singles for sure. I'm in the buddy read as well :) . I love her trilogies best. Have you read any of those?

message 115: by Susan (new)

Susan I think I've only read the one with Pagan Stone???? I have to check because I don't even know if I finished the series.....

message 116: by Susan (new)

Susan Yup I still have to read the last one.......

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1488 comments I just finished True Deceptions True Deceptions by Veronica Forand by Veronica Forand, a fantastic new author.

message 121: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments Here are some of my favorite trilogies:

Born in - no paranormal - love them so much! Great love stories

Gallaghers of Ardmore - Tiny bit of paranormal. Equally love lol.

Key trilogy - little more paranormal than Gallaghers but not a whole lot. These have mystery to them and suspense.

Circle trilogy- probably the most paranormal of her trilogies. But SO SO great! Has action, suspense, and love of course :)

A few of my favorite singles:

Hidden riches
Carnal innocence
The search - which your reading already
And the group book of the month is The Witness and it is also top of my list :)

I was reading your review and I'm afraid to start these because of the not very much romance thing. I almost have to have love. Lol. Got anything else up your sleeve?

Okay. Have you read Patricia Briggs? I started her Mercy Thompson series, which is more UF than PR but am going through her Alpha & Omega series, which is much more PR, and am loving it!

Have you read the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward or Midnight Breed by Lara Adrian? Two of my favorite series.

message 126: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments Yay! Ok! I'm going to look at the alpha and omega one. I definitely like PR more than UF. The problem for me is, I have almost literally only read Nora lol. She's been enough to content me since I started reading only 7 years ago (didn't know what I was missing) and I have basically no experience with almost any other authors. I have read a few that I really loved, but more often then not I am just not even able to finish a book or just feeling like I need more. I think since I started at the top of them all with Nora , there is nothing higher lol ;)

message 127: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments I noticed that lol, no idea what happened.

I did read the BDB series and it is now one of my All TIME favorites! Oh my goodness I loved those so much!
I haven't read Midnight Breed so I'll look at that too! Thanks so much!

message 128: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7080 comments Mod
Okay, I think you should start with Briggs. Then I'd go with Black Dagger Brotherhood (don't let the name scare you off line it did me initially). It is a highly addictive series!! You'll love it.

Midnight Breed can sometimes feel similar to BDB but it really is different.

Lastly, you've got to read Cat & Bones in Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. The first book didn't knock my socks off but the rest did. Be sure to follow the series reading order for the Night Huntress world as she has two spinoffs that are connected in their timelines.

message 130: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments Great! I'm excited! I felt the same way about the title of the BDB series when I found it lol.

One more...

Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series....FANTASTIC!!!! If you can get the audio version, even better as they're narrated by Robert Petkoff, one of the best in the business. I LOVE this series.

message 132: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 199 comments Audible is having a members sale...one of the Immortals books was available. It is further than I have gotten, but I bought it for future listening $5.95. A few Nora Roberts books were there as well. I picked up Liar

That is one dark book!

message 135: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 8 comments Some crime scene descriptions were a little hard to read...I don't watch gory movies...can't handle them. But one of my favorite non Nora books is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo...the whole series really. Those were recommended to me, not the type of book I would normally pick up....pretty dark....but I loved them...great books. I've just started Dark Places really...I'm sure there's more gore and twists to come.

message 136: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7080 comments Mod
I don't remember it as being so gory...just awfully dark in tone.

message 137: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 8 comments I'm just a baby when it comes to things...like hair matted in blood spatter on the wall...I consider that gory!
