I just finished reading a review copy of Earning the Rockies: American Ground and the Fate of Empire. It's curious that a book that I received before the election, and one that focuses on geography no less, has offered me the most cogent explanation to date of how Donald tRump came to be elected. Here is my review.
Am now reading the devotion of suspect x by keigo higashino a Christmas present and one I am looking forward to read

for Christmas this year.I also just finished an ARC of The Nowhere Man
by Gregg Hurwitz and it was outstanding!

I finished Two Days Gone
by Randall Silvis. When his wife and three children are murdered, Thomas Huston - a college professor, best-selling author, and (formerly) great guy - is the prime suspect. Police Sargeant Ryan DeMarco, who has problems of his own, is tasked with apprehending the writer. Good literary mystery. 3.5 stars.

Just finished reading 'The Jazz Files'... It’s the summer of 1920. Charlie Chaplin is in London promoting ‘The Kid’. The Jazz Age is just picking up the tempo of its swing. So, put on your shift dress and get ready to do the ‘swirly-armed’ dance: technically not, as the author explains with a satisfying knowledge of historical detail, the Charleston.
It was the year that Agatha Christie’s first published novel ‘The Mysterious Affair at Styles’ introduced readers to Poirot, Japp and Hastings…

For my last book of 2016 (I think anyway), the 2nd Mary Russell mystery, A Monstrous Regiment of Women by Laurie R. King
Just finished
Blood Lines by Angela Marsons https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and starting
Dear Mother also by Angela Marsons
I am sort of strapped for reading time at the moment, but I did read The Bone Readers, by Caribbean author Jacob Ross. Very good book.
Loved Blood Lines, Sandy!I just finished Luke Delaney's Cold Killing

I just finished The Borrowed . I recommend it to fans of deductive reasoning mysteries(Sherlock Holmes). My reviewhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This is one I read a little while ago which is now a favourite. The Whites by Harry Brandt is an absolutely first-rate novel that happens to cover crime/police/mystery/families/despair/retribution/life/love/death. Have I missed anything much? Brandt certainly didn't.FANTASTIC! 5★
