Fascinating book, even for non-writers!"
Like me! And I agree, it's an interesting book. :)

My current, Eeny Meeny" by M.J. Arlidge, I am not so sure of. I give all books a chance, so lets see how this will go...diving in...here goes!
This week:
Finishing The Complete Uneasy Tales, by Violet Hunt,
Starting Keigo Higashino's Under the Midnight Sun,
and continuing the Halloween reading, it's The Delicate Dependency, by Michael Talbot

In this addition to the cozy mystery series, set in Botswana, Mma Ramotswe investigates a cattle mutiliation while Mma Makutski plans her wedding. I like Mma Ramotswe's calm wisdom and enjoyed reading about wedding customs in Botswana. 3 stars.

I'm currently reading Under the Midnight Sun, by Keigo Higashino. It's tough because it really is geared more toward YA readers and YA just isn't my cup of tea.

Finished
an urban fantasy mystery and possibly Devon Monk's best book to date. First in the series.
Finished
and it's a bit like The Godfather Meet John Rain - assassin. It is part CIA, part yakuza, part mystery and really good and fast paced. It's getting a solid B
Finished
and for a cozy style mystery is was above average.
Reading
and it's very good. Read half in one sitting last night.

I'm currently reading Frankenstein, rereading this book now I'm at University as I read it for my English Literature A-Level and Red Queen which is a book my friend lent me. Red Queen is interesting so far, similar to fiction novels such as Hunger Games and Divergent.

In this first book in the series Hannah Swensen, owner of 'The Cookie Jar' bakery, sets out to solve two murders in between baking a lot of cookies. She also meets the two eligible bachelors that form her long-term romantic triangle.
Good cozy mystery. 3 stars.

oops! That was funny, Tom. Re my thinking on Dan Brown: he was something new for me when I used to read thrillers with the first book, the second book was okay, and after that, well, he sort of got stuck in a rut and hasn't managed to get out since.

It's the next of his books on my list to read - your comments made me want to read it even more!

The Poet is my favorite Michael Connelly book, bar none, and that is saying a lot.

Me. too. First one I read and it got me hooked on Connelly.

I've finished The White Devil, by Edgar-winning author Domenic Stansberry, and it was a good one. Without giving anything away, it's a sort of modern take on an old Jacobean play.

This cozy mystery series centers around Miss Seeton, a retired art teacher whose drawings help the police catch criminals. In this book Miss Seeton goes to Scotland, where she inadvertently thrusts herself into the middle of a nefarious plot. Humorous cozy. 3 stars.

Ruth Jefferson is an experienced black nurse forbidden to touch a newborn baby because the parents are white supremacists. The baby has a crisis and Ruth is blamed, leading to a trial. Picoult uses the story to explore racism in America. Good story. 3.5 stars.
