The Parlor PI's discussion
This n' That, Misc. Topics. Catch All Drawer.

Thanks, Tina! Yes, I'm happy to be known as Nicole V - lol! I'm going to try and locate the book so that I can participate in the discussion. I'm really excited to be a part of the group! :-)

I changed my Display Name to NicoleG so I hope that helps!"
Lol, and I've changed mine to NicoleV (I think...)! :-)

Congrats, Nicole! Looks intriguing. Let us know when you get to it.

For those who believe...please send up thoughts and prayers for those in line of Harvey which is becoming a Cat 3, possibly 4 hurricane. It's not looking good, my friends. Also, for those of us in FL getting rains, threats for flooding but hopefully, will miss any effects of Harvey. No telling what that storm will do once in the Gulf. Stay safe out there, wherever you may roam.
Thanks, Pghfan! S. FL's threat by InvestL whatever has dumped rain on us (Flood Warnings) but nothing at all like what TX is up for. Those poor people and animals. Too Sad!!
Everyone okay out there? A little pre-occupied with tracking storms and such. The south needs a much deserved break.

No problem here in the north. We are expecting the remnants of Harvey over the weekend, but that is all.
Good to hear that, Nicole, Pghfan. Thanks for checking in. ;-)
I think of the elderly, affirmed, animals out there; had to turn off the news. Donated, sent prayers and doing what we can.

We're on the same wavelength, Nicole. Started looking at titles so yeah, I should get a thread up later today.
Would love to read something steeped in orange, fall, pumpkins, mystery, Halloween and all good stuff. Hope we can find something great!!

Ditto and ditto, Nicole. Lost some read time during hurricane and now there's Maria eyeing us. Sheesh!!

I am up for a fall-related one, but if this becomes problematic, perhaps we could look at the book that came in second in the voting for September?
Jill wrote: "I might come back. I haven't totally decided. IF I do decide to come back it will be on MY terms."
Jill, that'd be nice but we've always been free agents here at The Parlor so long as everyone acts respectable to each other. I've always tried to treat everyone with respect. In fact, I've been told I'm "too nice." Who would've thought that a bad thing? LOL
Anyway, if your terms are in sync with the going terms then purr-fect. No special treatment to any of us. ;-)
"Peace, out" as they say. :-)

Like I said I'm still thinking about it. I do miss most of the people here.
I am so-o storm weary!! Send thoughts and prayers to the islands. FL shouldn't rest easy either. Can never tell with these hurricanes.
PI's, should I take down Theater Room that LM started or leave it up? I love the idea of having a theater in which to discuss movies but I don't expect to see LM in The Parlor much to run it. However, we can just post to it as we might any other thread.
Mark Pghfan wrote: "I say let's just post to it when the spirit moves us!"
I second that, Mark Pghfan. :-)

Allison, Laura sounds most excellent. Love old Hollywood stories, mysteries, esp. movies. Gotta look for this one.
Can't help myself. Just learned an hour ago... See Best Director - International Category.

I totally am!! Hope to be in theater opening night for MotOE! No, Brannagh is no Suchet but I'm so desperate for a full on theater movie that I'll take it. Besides, there are many big names in this version and I love seeing their acting.
Keep us posted, please, Nicole and I'll do same. Maybe we should get sep. thread under movie heading or just a new thread for discussion of this film!! Counting the days. Choo, choo!

If I might take a li'l Parlor space to celebrate a major win in my writing and film aspirations. I was just awarded Official Selection in Monaco's International Film Festival for my feature screenplay based on my first novel, Country Inn, Dead & Breakfast. Celebration film festival is in Dec...and I can't attend. :-/ Oh, well. One out of two ain't bad. :-)

I heard some sad news. Donald Bain has passed away. RIP Murder She Wrote guy :(
Nicole wrote: "Congratulations, Tina!!! I have to look up your book now..... :-)"
Hope it doesn't disappoint, Nicole. It's my first attempt at novel writing. But I did hire line editor to clean up the manuscript some. Script is much shorter to lmake an hour or hour and half movie.

Several things going on that I can't break away from, Nicole. Plus the cost involved. Need two gowns, one after five dress. Etc. kind of costly.

Yippeee! The film festival Programme listings are going up. Exciting to see ones name making the cut. Indulge me for just a short while, PI's. Worked so hard to get to this point.

Meantime, send large autumn themed photos so we have a nice thumbnail and masthead to greet us at front door (main page) to The Parlor. Thanks!
