Nicole, Jill, thanks for feedback. I keep forgetting that FB has the advert. option which is fairly inexpensive. I've used it before and it works well. Thing is, sometimes it's hard to create ad as it's necessary to follow prompts which are usually limited and confusing. But, it's what's available so I may just go with that and a few e-mag placed short articles. You helped me jog the gray cells. Thanks again!
If anyone is interested, our Facebook Cozy book club is reading Vicki Delany's We Wish you a Murderous Christmas. This is the event page if anyone wants to join! https://www.facebook.com/events/99690...
I just got approved for a Miss Fisher mystery book from Netgalley! So excited! I've never read any of the books but really love the tv show.

This was another title I wanted to read for our Christmas pick but then remembered we read her first book last year. Just wanted to change things up a bit. If I can't get over there in time, let me know how you like it.

I too love the film versions. The author was interviewed and said she wouldn't change a thing on the book to movie adaptations.

Nicole wrote: "I just got approved for a Miss Fisher mystery book from Netgalley! So excited! I think that's one of the goals I'll make for myself. Along with reading five Agatha Christie books.
I haven't been on the board for a little while, since I wasn't able to get the month's books for discussion. And time things...
I should be back from time to time this month, but Happy Holidays to us all!

Has anyone read anything from Kathleen Ernst? I won a book from her on the Killer Characters blog! I guess I'm on a lucky streak because I also just won the book Out of a Dying Pan by Linda Reilly. Fun times ahead!!!
Never read anything by Kathleen Ernst, Nicole. And you must've been good for you are winning! You need to buy a lotto. ;-)

Woo, hoo. We'll never be short on reading material, Jill. Thanks for the list. Looking at the authors now. ;-)

I'm not worried through....lol...
Ok I'm off to start my secret santa book that I received from another one of the groups I'm in. I'm so stoked to read it!

Right now I'm reading Custom Baked Murder. I just finished The Silence of the Elves. Really cute Christmas cozy.
You PI's are making a killing. Pun intended. ;-) Anything (title) that really stands out, Jill, Nicole?

I got two actually. One is Mrs. Grant and Madame Jule
and the other is Lilac Girls
Well, I feel like a real bonehead! I was agonizing over the fact that I was so far behind in my Goodreads challenge of 150 books in 2016. I thought I was doing so well! It seems like I'm reading all the time (haven't watched tv in MONTHS) and yet I was always 10 books behind. Well, silly me forgot to set the START and FINISHED dates on some books so they weren't recorded in my challenge totals! Ha!!! I went through and changed a lot of them (not all though since I got tired of clicking) so now I am up to 147/150! I will definitely reach my goal. Now, if I just did that in the first place I wouldn't have been trying to read like a crazy person in the last week of the year!
Why not read like a crazy woman the last week of the year, its going to be cold wet, and miserable. Staying in and reading in your warm jammies, under your favorite blankies with a warm drink surrounded by my dogs laying next to me sounds like the perfect way to end the year. At least thats what I'm going to do the last three days of the year.
I'm sure I'll read quite a bit once our Christmas festivities are over. Tomorrow I must shop for presents!
lol...I did that tonight...lol...and yesterday I put the tree up and half-assed decorated it...lol...I decorated the front and part of the sides, then called it good. I put the garland on the mantel and put up like three of the things that goes on the mantel and called it good. And I hung the stockings and put the mistletoe up. Tonight I got the Merry Christmas Wreath put on the door and called it all good until next year, if I felt like putting everything out....that's it, other than hubs wrapping the gifts with me probably Christmas Eve before Mass and cooking Christmas Dinner, which I really cut the menu down on it this year, I'm calling it good for 2016

LOL I've a half assed decorated tree this year too. Front, sides done. Back up against the wall. I think it's the theme for 2016.
The reading time out sounds good, Nicole, Jill and you PI's. I have about four books I'd like to tuck into. Hot chocolate, blankies and well behaved pets (ha ha ha) most welcomed.

Anyone familiar with author Brendan DuBois and his works?Watching a rerun of a quiz show from a couple of years ago on which he was a contestant.
No Allison I just saw him on a tv show. He said he had written 16 books so I googled him. He wrote a series where the protagonist is Lewis Cole. I never heard of him and was just curious if anyone else did.
Ok, so I decided to not cancel Kindle Unlimited just yet.I remembered there are several books that I want to read that are on there and I just found another one, The Woman on the Orient Express by Lindsay Jayne Ashford. Ahhh....so many books, so little time (yes, I think that will be written on my tombstone!!!).

It looked pretty good. Speaking of murder on trains...I've been reading our side read:
and it is very reminiscent of the famed Agatha Christie train mystery.
Allison, just unwrapped my copy and can't wait to tuck in. Woman On the Orient Exp. sounds good as well.
I've Marlene D thread going. In a few days would you consider posting a thread for Death Takes A Holiday? No heavy lifting required. Section off chapters if you want but not necessary if you don't have time. Just so we have a place to discuss it.

Wasn't it nice of The Nutmeg Inn, in Vermont to give us permission to use their photo as our masthead pic? Sent our link to Shelly at the inn. Maybe she'll peek in and visit with the PI's. ;-)

Sure, I'll take on Death Takes A Holiday...give me a day or two and I'll post a thread for folks ready to "jump on board".
LOL - and I haven't even had coffee yet this a.m.

I've come down with the sniffles!! Hopefully that's all it is, although I started to lose my voice today and my staff at work said that I didn't sound good! 13 people called out sick today and I'm sure several will be out tomorrow as well. I guess I'll lay low for a few days and rest up so the only activity I'm anticipating this weekend is reading a lot (and maybe a bit of laundry).

Great excuse to snuggle up and read, preferably with some hot tea at your side.

Something going around, Allison. Not sure if the flu's arrived or if it's the winter cold spread. (Not sure I shared but right on heels of hurricane we dodged, I came down with pneumonia. Chest xrays, antibiotics, down for month+...ugh. You don't want that! Yep, I soon got my pneumonia shot). I'm sure that's not the case in your situation but either way, please take care.

Can we start a thread for free books on Kindle or Nook? I found a freebie this morning and I recommended it to a couple of people but I am not able to send that recommendation to "everyone"...maybe if we had a thread to post a link to the freebie just 1 time? Folks could look and decide if they want it or not. Just a thought...
Happy belated birthday, Jill. Seems we owe you a birthday month pick. If I recall right, you were promised a title selection for your birthday and as I had my head somewhere else for the occasion, I think it only fair that you should be able to pick title for Feb. Would everyone be okay with that? So sorry, Jill! Hope it was a happy one!

I like those two also Nicole, and another author I like is Catherine Coulter She writes both romance and has a lot of suspense/thriller series as well. Just make sure you read what the book is about because of the two different genre's that she writes for. Lisa Jackson is good as you are finding out, Chevy Stevens is good, most of her books take place in Canada. Linwood Barclay, Preston and Child, Tami Hoag, I really, really like Iris Johansen, Meg Gardiner, There's a lot more but these should get you started...lol
