Heather, if you need a book recommended by someone you've just met, does meeting on the internet count? Because I just compared the books that you want to read with the ones I've read, and I can highly recommend The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, Room by Emma Donoghue and And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. I gave all of those 5 stars.

For my book translated into English, I was tossing up between Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky and My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante, but if you need more ideas, you could check some of the Listopia lists, like https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1....

If you didn't read it when it was a group read, the 100 Year Old Man... book was originally written in Swedish. This was part of the Popsugar challenge for 2015 so I used it for that.

For books 100 years older than you... anything Shakespeare, anything Jane Austen, Jane Eyre is one of my favorites, I think anything by Charles Dickens. You can add Date Pub (don't use the "ed" because that'll just give you the edition publication date) to your To Read list. Sort by that and see if you have anything 100 years older than you (that's why I did to give you suggestions).
