2) Read a non-fiction book by or about someone who you consider heroic.
I read Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by the incomparable Elizabeth Gilbert. I find her heroic because she is so brave to be her authentic self, pursue her writing without asking it to support her financially and putting her art in to the world, in the face of haters, humiliators and shamers. She even breaks some of the so called golden rules, (aka trite adages) of creativity, like not to blindly "pursue your passion." She dares to put her "secrets" to creativity out into the world, puts her own ego in its place and seems to truly let go of the outcome.
