Where do you think the unknown location will be in CoHF?
I agree with clary. The demon realm.
They do go to Idris, too. Pandemonium was mentioned in TID, and it'd be an epic battle between good and evil if it were there.
It would be a pretty kick-butt battl
It would. Imagine it - Jace surrounded by his heavenly fire amongst the darkness of the daemon realm. Actually, thinking about it now, it has to be there. Cassie said the backdrop on the cover is a major clue as to where the place in question is. She also said something like "It is a battle between light and dark" or something like that.
There is Jace's heavenly fire on the cover, right? The backdrop is shrouded in darkness. Light and dark.
Yeah, and think of how many times it's been mentioned in the series. It just makes sense.
Kaylee~ act first, wonder what the heck your doing later. wrote: "I agree with clary. The demon realm."Pandemonium is supposed to be the demon city within the void. You could be in the demon realm and not be in Pandemonium technically. I do think it will take place in the Void. Maybe Pandemonium maybe not.
Yes I would think. Alicante is a city, the only city I think, in Idris but there are downworlders who live in Idris but not Alicante.
Yes i'd be very surprised if it doesn't play a part and i'll eat my hat if we don't discover who Magnus's father is. My money is on Samuel (Lilith's consort). Anyone betting differently?
I've no idea who Magnus' father could be. I'm thinking Lucifer or Satan. Or are they the same thing?
Clary Speakman wrote: "I've no idea who Magnus' father could be. I'm thinking Lucifer or Satan. Or are they the same thing?"Yes they are the same. I did initially think Lucifer but thought that was too obvious.
I keep thinking the void, on the off-hand against the other places. But wasn't it said that if people entered the void, it was kind of like a one way system?
So how would they get back?
I'm sure CC will think of something. Demons find a way to cross over so i'm sure there will be a way. Sebastian is part demon so maybe he will play a part.
Maybe, but then again I think half of the fans of TMI won't want Sebastian involved in a helping way :') The majority all want him dead :')Maybe Magnus's dad has something to do with getting them there and back? :)
ME too. I'm also part of that 1%. Sebastian is in my top 3 of all the books so far
I said 'half of the fans' not 99.9%. I know there is a large fan base out there for Sebastian/Jonathan Morgenstern and as I said in past comments. Each to their own opinion :) He isn't one of the characters I like, never has been, but that's my look on it. Just like maybe some of my favourite characters may not be yours. :)
No judgement here :)
I didn't think he was that sexy in City of Glass. He just seemed like an evil, cold-blooded killer. And I hated him with a passion - I know, hard to believe, right? But when I read City of Lost Souls, I learned so much more about him, about his father beating him, and how happy he seemed when he fought beside Clary and Jace in that shop, and how many times he'd saved his little sister's life - and I literally fell in love with him.
Even when he tried to rape Clary, I thought it was … sexy. That didn't make it right, though. But by the end of the book even Clary was feeling a twinge of sympathy for him
I don't know why, but he's one of those characters to me that I just don't like and I'm the type if person who wants to like every character in a book :') But with Sebastian, even from City of Glass when he walked Clary back to Amatis's, I thought he was shifty and it grew from there. :(
What makes it worse and even more confusing for myself and probably all of you is that: I actually liked Valentine, despite his crazy antics to make everyone believe they're incest, drain everybody and then kill Jace. (The latter I was pretty pissed about mind.)
I despised Valentine. Just because he created the Circle, he craved more power. He was greedy with his power, if that makes sense
Yeah I get where your coming from. I don't know, he's the only bad guy I liked. Apart from Camille (Which I don't know where to place her though, if she's good or bad) I like her :')
I think Camille is that type of person who believes she can succeed in getting what she wants. Because she's an old vampire, she thinks she has influence over others, like Simon in CoFA. When really she is truly terrified of losing everything. Yeah, yeah … She's a vampire, she has nothing to lose …
But she does. She fears losing her status and power.
Raphael is her constant worry, because he is the only one who threatens that, who can take that away from her.
Still, Camille is a hard one to pinpoint if she is strictly good or strictly bad …
Maybe she's a balance between both
I like her, but I expected her death coming when it did. I think she has both good and bad in her, but knows how to use both to her best interests. Nothing lives forever, which is shitting me up for CoHF, because Magnus might die :( With him living for so long :/
I don't believe Camille is dead. For one, there was no real evidence to say Maureen had, in fact, killed her. And for another, it would be expected from Cassie; she knows how to surprise us. I think, if my theory is right and Camille is still alive, she might play a major role in CoHF.
As for Magnus, I do think he'll die. Not because he's over 700 years old, because age doesn't make it okay for anyone to die and say "Oh, he's been around a long time. It was time for him to go." I mean he might die saving Alec
It'd be cool if Camille was still around, but can you imagine the conflict with her, Magnus & Alec? :')I don't want Magnus to die, he's one of my very favourites! :)
I think Alec is going to die, I've said it since the end of CoLS. I don't want him too, but I imagine it coming :(
I want to see what Maureen has to do with CoHF, that'll be interesting.
…Or Alec might die saving Magnus. It could go either way. It would cause a massive tumult between Alec, Magnus and Camille, if she were still alive. I think Alec is jealous of what once was between Magnus and Camille.
Also, I think Maureen is working for Sebastian
I think Maureen is in it with Sebastian too, but I'm not sure whether she'd be able to hurt Simon? :) As for Magnus & Camille, Magnus left Camille by smashing lips with Will then just leaving. If only Alec would believe that though, but then he'd probably think that Magnus would prefer Jace. Since what happened with Will?
I've never taken to Maureen. I mean, her sweetness seemed too good to be true. When you think about it, it all could have been planned.
Maureen was the band's only fan, a fan who just happened to get injured and Turned into a vampire by Simon, who later claims she slaughtered Camille, leader of the New York vampire clan.
There's something going on there …
Now you put it that way, it does make you think. Then again, I can't imagine little ole' Simon being in on it. Considering he was the one who bit her :/ Maybe the younger they get turned, the more rampagey they go on? :')
If Camille is still around and kicking, say shes left Maureen "In charge" in a fashion- Well Maureen wouldn't be none the wiser. She'd be like the pawn in a game of chess?
Imagine if it came down to a head to head match with Maureen and Simon? :O
Well, if she killed Camille like Maureen says she did (which, I think, Camille insisted she say that and then flea from New York, so Raphael could not get to her and take charge of the clan) then she'd take Simon down like a dear caught in the canines of a lion.
I don't know how she'd deal with Simon, because after all she had like a MAHOOSIVE crush on him when she was human, and I can't imagine all that going down the drain because she sprouted fangs and craves blood. If Camille has really fled, I don't think it will take long for Raphael to find her again. Hell! He found Magnus's father in the past. (As Cassie's snippets have revealed.)
If he can find him, he won't have trouble finding Camille.
My point exactly. If the entire thing with Maureen was planned beforehand (of course, Simon would have no part in it, because he is loyal to the Shadowhunters) then she would have had no lovey-dovey feelings toward him, because they'd have been false
I don't know, I think it depends on how far back this little crush thing has been going on. If it's been years, I don't think she will know how to harbour false feelings. Especially from such a young age. Plus I can't imagine Simon ever hurting her, despite everything. He felt bad for biting her in the first place. I think he'd be stuck between a rock and a hard place really.
She will have a bigger part in this, the same with Rebecca- Simon's sister. I don't think Cassie would introduce those characters and just give them a cameo appearance.
With Jem/Brother Zachariah, I can understand a cameo appearance, like with Tessa- because they were full on characters in TID and were just crossed over.
But with Maureen and Rebecca, I think something deeper is lurking.
I'd like to see some accend, like Sophie did. :)
I've just had this crazy thought in response to something you just said. The chapter entitled 'Simon's Sacrifice', could mean that Sebastian is holding Simon's sister captive and he has to 'sacrifice' something in order to save her …
OMG! Yes! Or if not his sister, his mum? She knows kind of about him, despite the memory thing Simon did.
But what could he sacrifice
, he doesn't have the mark of Cain anymore, so he's pretty much screwed :(
I don't think Cassie would ever sacrifice or kill off a cat! He'll! We've had church forever and Chairman Meow! :)
No killing cats, it's cruel! :') I don't think Simons cat will die or anything, but just thinking outside the box- imagine if his cat was a shapeshifter or something?

Oh, don't get me wrong, I've always thought Sebastian was freaking gorgeous, especially in CoG.
Laura wrote: "Maybe, but then again I think half of the fans of TMI won't want Sebastian involved in a helping way :') The majority all want him dead :')Maybe Magnus's dad has something to do with getting them ..."
I don't necessarily think it will be in a helpful way. Maybe something along the lines of him crossing over and them somehow taking advantage of that ability.
MissMorgenstern wrote: "I despised Valentine. Just because he created the Circle, he craved more power. He was greedy with his power, if that makes sense"Me too. He was the TMI version of a racist, like Voldamort in the Harry Potter books. all that pure blood crap.
Just my opinion remember= but I don't think Sebastian has a good bone in his boat, he was bred on demon blood. Which has practically consumed him. Honestly, I look forward to seeing the glimpse if him as a normal shadowhunter in CoHF, but how will Clary react?
The only sibling she has, who has tried getting jiggy with her, tried killing her boyfriend and is overall trying to take over shadowhunters as a whole.
I think it will pull a few strings and break her heart to see him how he should be.
Heaven forbid it doesn't happen, we've already seen him die once, but what if that snippet of "I killed your boyfriend" is Jace.
I cannot see that going down well with half the characters, as well as half the fans?
That snippet …'I just killed your boyfriend. Thought you should know'
…it was fan made. Fortunately.
And Jace doesn't die, nor does Clary
Well that's put my mind at rest.. I think. Now it's more worrying who these six people are who die! :(
I think four of them are main characters, if that helps. Which it doesn't … it just makes everything worse …Maia, Jace, Clary, Julian and Emma don't die, because they're in TDA.
That leaves Simon, Alec, Magnus, Luke, Jocelyn, Jordan, Maureen, Kaelie, the Seelie Queen, Meliorn, Mayrse, Robert, Raphael, Camille (if she's still alive), and Sebastian.
Take you're pick :)

The void- but then again it was said that it was kind of a one way system.
But it could also be one of the places on the map Gabriel Lightwood was looking at in Mr Sallows shop in Clockwork Princess?;
The Thorn Mountains
The Silver Sea
Or the mysterious country with the purple sky.
:)
