Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments That's an interesting thought. Jordan's love for Maia is as strong as Jace's feelings for Clary. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for her.

I. Am. Literally. Burning. With. Envy. Right. Now …
Where did you find your boyfriend? Because wherever it is, I'm hopping on the train and getting my sorry ass down there to go hunting for Sebastians'.
I cannot believe you just said he is a practically a combination of Will and Alec!

I know. Will is mentioned often in CoFA and CoLS when Alec questions Magnus on his past love life and stuff.

Alec and Jace are like two separate puzzle pieces; they stick together, and they won't be complete unless they're together.
Having one without the other is like having fries without salt and vinegar! They just don't work.

message 152: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) I don't think Maia would make Jordan kill him, but I do think he'd do it to boost his own ends. By having someone he knows and who trusts him indefinitely on the inside and at the top :)

First person to ever tell me they envy me. Ever :')
That's pretty much what he is Will and Alec rolled into one. Big shock? :')
They lurk in unexpected places, search every nook and cranny! Your Sebastian might be right under your nose! :)

He does! I can't wait for more Alec stubbornness to come up! :')

Yes! They compliment each other very well. Just like Will & Jem did :) except the places are reversed in Jace & Alec's case; because Jem was the glue that kept them going and Jacr is the glue this time :)

message 153: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments I'm actually having second thoughts about Jordan. He seems … nice?
I'm on chapter 7 of City of Lost Souls, and he doesn't seem the type of guy who'd betray everything he so desperately created a long time ago, after attacking Maia. He joined the Praetor Lupus to change his ways, so I actually don't think he'd go back on everything he's changed …

I am utterly, seriously jealous of your love life. I know jealousy is a worthless emotion, but it's necessary when your bloody boyfriend is mix between William Herondale and Alec-freaking-Lightwood!
Not fair.

Yeah, Jem was like, Will's nanny. Not nanny - I just don't know how to word it. Jem guided Will when the boy wandered off the rails, which was often. And Jem was always so calm and controlled, whereas Alec is just pure stubbornness.
Jace is practically Jem when it comes to Alec

message 154: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) I forgot all about the Praetus Lupin... Maybe they have a big party in CoHF? But I still imagine Maia as head of Luke's pack or even maybe joining with Jordan? :)
He's not so bad, even though he had the hots for Clary :')

Do. Not. Be. Jealous especially me of all people :)
He has one two many of Wills traits, but has the Lightwood's stubbornness down to a T. :')
It's weird really, never ever did I think he'd be like either of them. I kept pinning him as Simon :')

But I'm more like the female version of Jem mixed with Simons nerdyness and Tessa traits :)

Nanny < that made me giggle! :')
Jem was pretty much Will's guardian angel in human form. They were each others saviours to the very end :)

Jace is modern day Jem :') "Alec you best not be texting Magnus 'I think ur kewl'" :')

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Haha.
You just made me laugh when you said "Maybe they have a big party in CoHF?"
Did you mean part or party?
I mean, it'd be cool if Magnus threw another of his awesome party's. But I doubt, with Sebastian sending them a dead Angel and a promise "I am coming", they'd be in the party mood.

I am exploding with envy right now.
Walec - Will and Alec - is the definition of a perfect boyfriend.
*throws another tantrum*

To the very end.
Oh, God. That made my heart ache!

I think "If you're texting Magnus 'I think u r kewl' I will kill you," was Izzy

message 156: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) I just burst out laughing at my own mistake! :')
I did mean part, not party. But they could always have a little party, even in the war! :) And Sebastian's "I am coming" could be the late RSVP to Magnus's party :p
Always think on the bright side! :D

Probably doesn't help that my boyfriend has the name Alexander either :')
Walec! I love it! The best one I've heard is Waywood- I end up a giggling mess!

It made my heart ache writing it! Anything Heronstairs and I end up feeling one too many emotions! :(

Well if it wasn't we can just pretend he did :') plus I think he does, because then he breaks the phone :')

I wonder what happens to Maryse?

message 157: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments I think they've attended at least one party in every book.
City of Bones - Magnus's apartment.
City of Ashes - does the Seelie Court count?
City of Glass - the Celebration in Idris.
City of Fallen Angels - the Ironworks party.
City of Lost Souls - the club where Clary and Jace got a little carried away.
City of Heavenly Fire - probably Sebastian's funeral.

I doubt Magnus would send Sebastian an invitation to his party. Unless he didn't send him one, and now he's pissed and the entire 733 pages of CoHF will be about Sebastian chasing Magnus across the world because he didn't get an invite.

What about Wayworm? ;)
It just popped into my head, you know, with Will and his love for the word "Lightworm …

Oh, yeah. Jace smashes Alec's phone in CoHF. I remember reading a snippet.
"You broke my PHONE!" Alec said furiously.
"Guys don't let other guys keep calling other guys," said Jace. He frowned. "Wait, that came out wrong. Friends don't let their friends keep calling their boyfriends'."
"So you broke my brand new phone?" Alec demanded. "Thanks. Thanks a lot."
Jace smiled serenely and lay back on the grass. "You're welcome."

I am so confused right now.
I've just gotten up to the part where Izzy and Jocelyn visit the Iron Sisters, and it says Izzy has black eyes instead of blue. She is the only one who has different coloured eyes in the Lightwood family.
I'm having second thoughts on who her real father is …

message 158: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) That is very true. I would say that Seelie Court was more of a business meeting, with the Seelie Queen taking it too far by pushing the so called "siblings" together.
I don't think I want Sebastian to die, but at the same time I do. I don't want him too because I don't want to be introduced to a new evil in TDA :(

Yes! Then killing off everyone who got an invite along the way, until he gets to Magnus. Then he summons his dad, to tell on Magnus for not inviting him to his super cool party! :')

733 pages is way too much emotions to deal with god knows how many words on each page! :(

Wayworm! I love it! :')
Waywood was the OTP for Michael Wayland and Robert Lightwood :)

I can't wait to see the complete scene, breaking phones is so not cool. But I would be crazy slapping Alec for ringing and then putting it down.
Then Magnus & Alec need their heads banging together! :')

The one thing i can answer! :D well that Cassie answered here: http://cassandraclare.tumblr.com/post...
Then again Jace Herondale & James Herondale are the only Herondale's with golden eyes! :)

James Herondale- I think I'm in love with :')

message 159: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Oh, God. I hate the Seelie Queen. Not just because of what she forced Jace and Clary to do in the Seelie Court, knowing in their minds they believed they were brother and sister, but because in CoFA, she knew what was going to happen with Sebastian binding himself to Jace.
What I don't understand is why Clary hadn't figured out the Seelie Queen was working with Sebastian then, but instead she only just realized before Sebastian tried to rape her.

Maybe Sebastian is the evil dude in TDA?

I can just imagine that happening. Sebastian storming off in a tantrum because he didn't receive an invite.

I know. 733 pages is like … wow! I love long books, though.

I really hope Malec rekindle their relationship. They're one of my favourite couples in the series :(

Well, at least that's cleared up. See, this 're-read is making me pick up on minor details that I otherwise wouldn't have spotted.

Yeah. I hear James Herondale has Will's dark hair and Jace's golden eyes, and probably their sexy personality as well

message 160: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) Yes, the Seelie Queen and Sebastian working together. I kind of saw that coming, they are both as cunning as one another. Unfortunately they work well together! Then with the Seelie Queen listening in through the rings and Sebastian knew all along. Then smashed the ring:/
I think Clary didn't notice at first because she was more pre-occupied with trying to separate Jace and spending time with him. Everything else went out of the window! :')

I think he makes it through like I've said before, but that would be like 7 books with him as a bad guy! YEESH!

Yes, Sebastian tantrumming would be hilarious! :')

I love long books, but this one is going to be extra special because all these characters are our babies and we've grown with them! :) 733 pages if conclusion!

I so badly want them too sort themselves out. They are as bad as Ross & Rachel from Friends :') I can imagine if something happened while they were apart and they started saying "WE WERE ON A BREAK!" :')

Yes, I'm noticing that reading City of Bones again. It's nice to read the book though, because it is so different from the film. :)

James Herondale- dark hair, golden eyes, can turn into a shadow, got bullied in school then left and met Matthew Fairchild & became parabatais :D I cannot wait to meet this guy
And Lucie sounds like she looks so much like Tessa :)

message 161: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments About those rings …
I know the two both Clary and Simon wear hold a telepathic ability, but there is a third ring? Is the third ring the one Sebastian wore?

I suppose. Jace is her top priority in her eyes. Everything else was kind of swiped from her mind.

Well, it would specifically be 3 and a half books with him being the bad guy - City of Lost Souls, City of Heavenly Fire, Lady Midnight …
I mean, he was dead throughout City of Fallen Angels, and he kind of was the evil guy in City of Glass, but at the beginning, it was Valentine who everyone saw as the evil villain.
I could do with more Sebastian, if I'm being brutally honest. I just can't seem to get enough of him.

I hope it isn't 733 pages of, like, bloodshed and no sex whatsoever. I need Clace sex … and Malec sex … and Sizzy sex … and Clabastian sex …

Haha.
Oh, God. I've just gotten the most bizarre mental image of Alec and Magnus on the Jeremy Kyle Show, taking a lie detector test.
Alec would be like "You … you cheated on me?"
"We were on a break, Alexander," said Magnus. At the look on his face, Magnus added quickly, "It was no one you knew. Just some faerie I bumped into …"
Jeremy Kyle: *dies*

Wait - James Herondale can turn into a shadow?

I know Clary & Simon used them to telepathically talk, but I think the Seelie Queen kept the third to listen in on their conversation. Then report back to Sebastian.

Yeah, even the whole “whatever Jace feels, Sebastian feels” went from her mind... If you know what I mean? :') So she must have been pulled under deep with Jace.

Well I guess all I can say is I guess every girl likes a real life bad boy! In this sense a real-life-fictional bad boy :P
I don't know how I'd cope with all over again in TDA, no offence to Sebastian- He makes a brilliant bad guy, but I like the introduction of new characters! More people to like! :D

I think it will be 733 pages of betrayal, then travelling, then a big fight, then a conclusion. With lots of funny, sex related innuendos in between, as well as “half-way there” sex scenes. Especially with Clace, Sizzy, Clabastian and Malec sex. I cannot see Cassie writing out an actual sex scene. :')

LMAO! That would be epic! :') Oh god, I want this to happen to bad.. like a random spin-off or something! :')
I think Jeremy Kyle would just walk off the stage at the point of seeing Magnus in leather-clad pants, a netted vest top and lots of make-up and glitter! :')

Yes! I inboxed you this the other day! You must not of got it though! :( He can turn into a shadow because he has a little bit of demon-blood from Tessa been his mother :) Then he got bullied through school and left because people picked on him because of it :(
So I am personally going to hunt down these bullies and beat them into the next century! :D

message 163: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) Then he ended up as Matthew Fairchild's parabatai :)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Yeah, I knew the rings belonged to the Queen's father, but I didn't know which of them was the third.
Yesterday, when I was reading CoLS, I swear I caught a glimpse of Pandemonium and what happens there in CoHF.
"I had a dream," Magnus said, his eyes distant. "Of a city all of blood, with towers made of bone, and blood ran in the streets like water …"
It seems too much of a coincidence for that to have no meaning whatsoever.

Don't hate me for saying this, but next to Sebastian, Jace is literally a sloth! Like, seriously …
Sebastian is gorgeous, and even the way he moves "Sebastian stood in the doorway. He leaned against the frame, elbow and hip." I think even that is sexy.

Yeah, I'd prefer if it were a new villain in TDA instead of Sebastian. Everyone knows most of what he's capable of, but with a new character, no one will.

Well, Cassie did say CoHF contains her hottest scene yet :D I couldn't help but think of Jace and his heavenly fire, and I linked the two. So hopefully we're going to get some Clace sex.
I really want Clabastian sex. I mean, come on, they're barely related. Sebastian has demon blood, Clary has Angel blood. They're only half related. And it'd be such a steamy scene …
Okay, I'm going to stop there before I get carried away …

Haha.
I could just imagine Magnus walking out with no pants like he did in CoB. That'd be comical.

Of course! I forget about Tessa having faerie blood.
*facepalm*
That's just made James Herondale a whole lot sexier

I would of assumed the Seelie Queen would have had the third ring to keep in contact with Sebastian, since they were all inside a little bubble, as I like to call it.

If that is what Pandemonium is going to look like, it is going to be one gorey as hell book! :) I don't think it's coincidence. Or maybe since they all have to flee Idris, that is why- because it turns out like that? :)

That made me laugh! :') I don't hate you, I do think Sebastian has more etiquette in the right senses, Jace is a cluts in my head, he is pretty much like Harry Potter in my head. He always just gets lucky when something clever or good happens. Then he has the Jack Sparrow trait, of no one sees when something brilliant happens. But I will give you that with Sebastian, he kind of just knows what he is doing, and pulls the energy from everything and everyone in a room! :)

The raised eyebrow thing and the smirk are what I really like! I tried getting my boyfriend to try and do it. Oh. God I couldn't stop laughing, I'm pretty sure only fictional characters can make that look sexy! :')

Yeah, I'd like him to redeem himself good, and save someone’s life, that we unexpected. Then I'd just wanna hug him :') But a new villain, I would prefer, I don't think I could with Sebastian’s badness been dragged out even more. The poor guy.

I can very much imagine your fingers itching to go into more detail about Clabastian sex :P I know it probably sounds weird, but I would really want the hottest scene to be of a same sex couple, just for the diversity. Plus how many homophobes it would piss off, and show that people of the same sex can do it just as good! :')
But I can see it been Clace, because everyone’s anticipating it! :') Can you imagine if it was Jocelyn and Luke? :|
Or Tessa and Jem! Now that I wouldn't mind- lots of Jem :P

Oh god. That would be brilliant! :D I don't think people would know where to look. Then there would be Alec sat there rolling his eyes, mumbling about how he wants to sleep with the whole audience and that why he dressed that way :')

Yeah, Tessa and her warlock magic/blood stuff.
I'm excited to see what her daughter Lucie has as a gift, I just know she’s a writer :)

I'm slightly a little bit-ish in love with James :') Once I saw he turned into a shadow, it went through the roof! :D
Then I found a picture of him with glasses, and I was hooked. :')

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments I wonder who else is a member of their little bubble. Maureen, I think, and Camille.

Oh, bloody hell. I hope Idris doesn't turn out like that when Sebastian is finished with the place. Imagine, though. It'd destroy Jace, because that's where his childhood memories are held.
I can see Idris being invaded again. Valentine managed to do it once before, and he wasn't half as powerful as Sebastian.

Yeah. That really irritates me sometimes, though. Jace always seems to know exactly what to say, and leaves everyone else looking like an idiot. Why can't Simon say something smart when Jace is with him? It never happens.

Just the way Sebastian holds himself gets me drooling. Not literally, but whatever. And when he carries Clary after she's knocked unconscious when she's attacked by the Dravak demons. Oh my God! I've just passed that bit in CoLS …

It'd be different for the hottest scene to belong to Malec or Aline and Helen or something, but I think it'd going to be Clace as well.
Out of all the romances there are, I don't understand why everyone is literally drooling over them. I mean, yes, Clace do share some very … hot … mouthwatering … moments, like the dirty sexy club scene in CoLS, but yeah …
Ugh! Jocelyn and Luke would make me physically sick.
Tessa and Jem, on the other hand *wiggles eyebrows*

He had glasses? That's so adorable! He'll be like a combination of Simon and Jace and Will :')

I definitely think Camille is part of their little bubble and Raphael- I don't like him, he's a shifty character.

Well in the Synopsis, it says they have to flee, so I'm guessing some crazy shit goes down! :( I know, I don't think Jace would have any mercy if Sebastian killed his childhood- He'd just turn all Judge Dredd on his ass! :(
It's a weird feeling I have, I don't want Jace to kill Sebastian, but I still want him either dead or put in his place. I think Jace has been glued to him like a leech, through the strange bond. So I don't think it's fair he kills him. Its a strange feeling :')

Oh don't even get me going with Jace and his smart mouth! When Simon was with Clary, and Jace was TOTALLY JEALOUS... and Jace kept trying to give Clary the stele and she said she didn't want it. Then Simon was like “Ha-ha, she doesn't want it” and then Jace got clever and said that was his best comeback... HOW ON EARTH DID SIMON NOT KICK HIS SORRY LITTLE ASS. :|

I can't remember that bit! :( But he does hold himself together well, just like his father. He did the same, I had the weird attraction towards Valentine. It was weird... but I still wanted him dead. :') I think if they ever made Sebastian into a character- They woman would love him all of a sudden- because from his description, he is all good-looking and mysterious- so that would mean the actor would have to be hot. AND that is the only reason people would like him then. :(
We know the real Sebastian! :)

It would be very different for those guys, but we all know it's going to be Clace, however much we wish it wasn't. They are the main romance throughout the whole books. I do not understand either, I am with you on that one, sure they make a great couple- but there’s too much of them.. if that makes sense? Like they get great scenes, like you said the one in CoLS, but we need more of everyone else. To balance it out, so we don't grow to hate their mushy-ness! :)
My reaction too, wiggling eyebrows and smiling mischievously to Tessa and Jem :P

I'll send you the picture through inbox if I can :) But yes, he has glasses on and it's the cutest/hottest thing ever! I have to wear glasses myself all the time, so I'm naturally drawn to these characters. Yet I was pissed when they made Simon get rid of his! :( He should be a hot vampire, with glasses! :)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) My arms are flailing around maniacally right now:

Alastair Carstairs who is in The Last Hours was who Elias Carstairs passed the Cortana sword down too! :D
So he did take Tessa's advice of passing it down to his own children!
I'm so so happy :)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments I'm not sure about Raphael. I think Maureen and Camille are working for Sebastian. I think maybe that's why Maureen told Simon she killed the clan's leader, to get Raphael off Camille's back, because if Raphael thought she were dead, surely he'd give up trying to kill her.

I think if anyone was going to kill Sebastian, it would have to be Clary. It'd seem ludicrous if he were to die at Alec's hands, or Isabelle's, despite him killing Max.
I think, because Clary is his sister, if she were to be the one to end him, it'd have more meaning and a feeling of betrayal on his part.
If that were to happen, his last words will be "You are exactly like me."

Haha.
I remember that.
"She said she doesn't want it. Ha-ha."
Jace looked at him incredulously. "Ha-ha? That's your comeback?"

Don't get me wrong, I adore Jace's ability to fire insults at others without even thinking, but when Sebastian challenged him in CoG, I think he finally met his match, and inside I was secretly reeling.
I loved Jace in CoB. He seemed most witty and random then.
"Is this the part where you start tearing off pieces of your shirt to bind my wounds?"
"If you wanted me to take my clothes off, you should've just asked."
I could hardly breath when I read that …

I haven't heard anything of City of Ashes since they announced the postponing of it. But if they do get around to it, they'd better get Sebastian's character perfect!I know he's in City of Ashes for only one or two pages, when he appears in Clary's dream where she dances with him in Alicante, but still.
Conor McLain though.
*faints*

I know. Cassie's writing is rare as it is, because you barely see gay couples and lesbian couples on novels nowadays. That's why people admire her, because she's supported them with her unique writing and helped them come out to their parents.
And for her to take a step as massive as making the hottest scene in CoHF with Malec or something, it would definitely increase her fan base.

Oh gosh. I can't wait to meet this guy. He sounds enchanting! I'll have a look at that picture now:)

I imagine it'd put strain on Simon's eyes if he were to wear glasses when he doesn't need them.
I suppose him abandoning the glasses was the first step to the blossoming of his character

message 170: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) Maybe, but then again would Raphael believe Maureen? Especially since he will know what Camille is like- having fought her for the position for years. Surely he must expect it and not even trust Maureen considering she's just changed gone senior psychopath.

Yes, I'm expecting Clary to kill him- considering he does at all. Purely because she is heroine throughout all the books, she's suppose to vanquish all evil. Just with help from other sources.
Then again, I cannot imagine her wanting to be deemed just like him- despite her being his sister. Although it can imagine they would be his last words and send her into turmoil.

Jace has a very good talent under his belt for firing insults, comebacks and thinking things up on the spot. A talent I very much envy :')
But I agree, himself and Sebastian are cut from the same cloth. They were brought up by the same person, taught the same things- the only thing setting them apart was houses at either end of the valley & the demon and angel blood.
Yes! I fell off the bed laughing of that, tears welling in my eyes from laughing too hard! Just casually comes out with stripping himself down.
Now knowing all the characters- I half expected Alec to storm off, if it was wrote differently! :')

They need to think his casting over hard! He is a crucial part to the storyline, so it can't just be anyone.
However, the way City of Bones turned out- it wouldn't surprise me if they just leave him cut out all together and wait till City of Glass :/
They ruined the 1st one, so my hopes aren't so high for the second.
The warped ending had screwed the storyline.

I love her books and stories because of the diversity and the same-sex couples. I'm obviously not gay myself, but I will be anybody's corner who is. They shouldn't be treated differently from anyone else, Cassie makes them part if something bigger. So something as small as their choice in love interest shouldn't matter.
Oh... I'm going to stop before I go off on a tangent ranting :')

I want a pocket sized James Herondale! Or just steal him... Whichever :')

I get the whole vampires don't need glasses thing, because they have perfect vision.
I guess with me it's kind of a more personal choice- I get really excited when there is a character who has to wear them constantly. I took to Henry Branwell so well because of it :)
In a way then, they're just like me :')

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments I don't think Raphael would believe her. She turned feral in CoLS, and started slaughtering mundanes at random. She killed Nick as well. Raphael even said he'd kill her himself if the Praetor Lupus didn't stop her.

Yes, I can definitely imagine those being his last words. They'd play on her mind, just like Sebastian would have wanted.
Poor Sebastian, though. Imagine how betrayed he'd be if his sister killed him. To him, she's the only one who is 'just like him', even though she's not.
I'd bawl my eyes out!

Even Simon, though. He challenges Jace, mainly on Clary's part, I think. Especially in CoB (Simon was in love with Clary, and he got pissed because she 'shacked up with a dyed blond goth wannabe'), CoA (Jace continued to verbally attack him because he was the one who was jealous with her dating him), and CoFA (when Simon was trying to gather information about what was stirring between Jace and Clary.)

Yeah, the City of Bones adaption sucked. I hated the casting. And people were saying Rahael wasn't in the movie because he didn't appear in the book? But he did appear in the book, so I was seriously confused.

I admire Cassie's complicated storylines as well. With all their twists and surprises, not the simple, boring shit like Twishite!

I am exactly the same.
I'm always looking for someone I can relate to. That's why I fell in love with Clary in CoB - she has red hair, I have red hair, so therefore, I don't feel alone. I keep thinking, because Jace, Simon and Sebastian seem to have a thing for redheads, maybe they'll come and kidnap me or something :)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) MissMorgenstern wrote: "I don't think Raphael would believe her. She turned feral in CoLS, and started slaughtering mundanes at random. She killed Nick as well. Raphael even said he'd kill her himself if the Praetor Lupus..."

I think if Maureen was to die, Raphael would be the last resort for killing her, I think in CoHF the Praetor Lupus will have a big part to do with it, and I think they will be the ones to take her down. Also, if Camille was in hiding as you suspect, I honestly think she would turn to Magnus- he's one of her oldest friend/things & they were past lovers. I can't imagine Alec been to pleased, but you know.

I have a gut feeling he is not going to die, just get a few blows to his body :') But I think if he was to die, it would be by the hand of the least expected, such as: Mayrse- he killed her son, as well as bonded himself with Jace. Jocelyn- she could still feel guilty for bringing a 'monster' into the world.
Also, I can imagine a lot people know he’s Valentines son, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people take out their vendettas for Valentine on Sebastian.
If Clary killed him- I think he would be pleased in away, because all along he's said they're alike and now he has proof. Even if it is at the death of himself.
It would be shock, but I don't think I'd cry. I'm not enough of a Sebastian fan.

Jace and Simon should be related. They practically argue, bicker and banter with one another as if they are brothers- constantly bitching about one another. I think he challenges Jace with Clary, because he knows what they are bother capable of- he knows Jace is a player, in so many words. And he knows Clary could kick his ass, but she's just as vulnerable. Then along with the fact that Simon has loved her all his life, does not go well into the mix. Simon is the big brother she never had.

Magnus is the best with Simon, when he keeps calling him Sheldon. Along with an assortment of other names that are not 'Simon' :')

It sucked, it sucked so hard! -.- The casting was fine with me, it was the way it was filmed that pissed me off :/ Yes! I kept looking out for him and trying to guess which one he was! He was in the book, so I was expecting him in the film. I kept thinking he was the creepy looking vampire at Magnus's party who kept smiling a deranged person.

I have never read the Twishite books, and I do not intend too. :') Cassie's were the first ever books I read, and they got me into reading. :)

I do that in almost every book, but not every book I can find someone I relate too. I couldn't go off anyone in Cassie's books for hair colour, because I change mine so much :') I related to Jem, Tessa and Henry in TID. Then in TMI, I related to Simon- because he is a lot like me, minus the sarcasm. I cannot be sarcastic for the life of me. Then Magnus- He kind of gave me hope that I cold be that free one day.
You're Sebastian or Jace or both will come steal you in the night, lock you up in the Institute and never let you leave... again. :P

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Maybe Simon kills Maureen, if she were to die, and he'd be like "I should've killed you the first around."
I think something dreadful is going to happen to Simon in CoHF. With the Mark of Cain gone and Raphael saying "When that is removed, Daylighter, there will be a line of all those waiting to kill you. And I will be at the head of it," I can see some serious shit going down between them.

Linking to the Sebastian issue, I think Lilith is going to play a massive part as well. "And as your army grows, Jonathan, so shall I grow." She becomes stronger with every new Shadowhunter that drinks from the Infernal Cup.
Sebastian must have an assembled army, if he's seeming so ready with his promise I am coming.
Speaking of Sebastian, I have just come across this on Google images, and I burst out laughing:
Sexy and I know it.
Eh, when I walk
By, Clary be lookin like she bout to cry
Ah, I kill to the beat
Slaves on the ground kissing my feet, yeah
This is how I roll, demon blood, yeah
I'm outta control
Alright, c'mon Jace it's time to go
No Clary, DAMMIT, stop stealing my bows

Vamps, come look at this body (x3)
Eh, I-I-I like my sister
Racing to the Sacred Site (yeah), this is what I see (okay)
Lots of Shadowhunters that wanna kill me
And Clary's got the sword, and she ain't afraid to use it, use it, use it
Clary stabbed us and I know it

Yeah. And as Simon said in City of Glass, "If you hurt Clary, I'm sure she's capable of killing you herself. Possibly with a variety of weapons."
Jace seemed pleased by the idea.

Oh, gosh. I've just passed that Mark in CoLS about two hours ago. "Alright," said Magnus. "Quiet down everyone. Sherlock has a plan."

So did I! I thought that guy would turn out to be Raphael because he seemed to appear the most out of the other vampires. And when Clary went to rescue Simon, Simon said they don't want him, but they want Clary and the Cup, which was not the case in the book. I don't see, if they do happen to make City of Ashes, they could get around that.
Unless they said the vampires were working for Valentine, which is why they were trying to get the Cup.

Oh, I've read them. About three years ago. They were the first actual novels I ever read. And they made me want to crawl into a hole. They were so depressing to read. Nothing compared to Cassie's writing.

Tessa was my favourite character in TID. I love her passion for books, and the courage she had to stand up for others. She was an amazing character, and such a good role model, really.

Well, I wouldn't mind that
Maybe I'll go out and put myself in grave danger just to see if they'd show up and whisk me away to their dimensional apartment :)

I thought that theory over too, that Simon kills her. Since he brought her into that situation, it's only right, he takes her out. Quite literally. I know something bad is going to happen in CoHF to Simon, considering the chapter Simon’s Sacrifice- That cannot mean anything good, not sacrifice is ever good :( If Raphael kills him, heads will roll! :')

Yes, I think Lilith will have something to do with the summoning of Magnus's father, or however they are going to get his dad into it. If Sebastian and Lilith band together, there will be no stopping them. She’s the mother of all demons, and his just as bad- with the whole word ruling determination he has!
I think between the time of CoLS & CoHF, he's recruited more shadowhunters with the dark cup. That’s how his army is being built, but he needs some of our other well-known shadowhunters, because of their abilities.
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! I LOVE IT! :D I just burst out laughing like crazy! :')

Can you imagine Jace been a sadist and getting off on pain? Yeeesh, that would be kind of creepy! :( I think it would be a fair fight between Jace and Simon though, like once Simon got his vampirism strength and agility under control and knew how to harness it.

I love him with all the different names! I was talking to my mum earlier about if Cassie kills Magnus heads will roll. She turned around and asked if he was the main character.
My reply was pretty much- “He may as well be, he enters a room and commands attention. Not to mention he is a glittering, free-wheeling bisexual who is a cross between sonic the hedgehog and the childcatcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, according to Simon.” :')

He was always there, so I just assumed he was Raphael. I don't know how they will make City of Ashes, it's all messed up. To start with- where was the storage room and piano wire? Instead we got a climbing wall with fairy lights. -.- And where was the five-dimensional door in Madame Dorothea's. Where was the foresaken in Clary's apartment?
There is no way they can stick to the story, they've buggared it all up. :(

The three bits I liked in the City of Bones movie was: When the Institute was revealed and Clary said “This isn't a dump”- I cried. Then When she went into the library- I cried. All happy tears, but nevertheless I cried. Then thirdly, Hodge's speech in the library- I can say that word for word. :')

I've never read them, I cannot take the films seriously. I only watch them to giggle at them all :') Oh and Jasper- Jackson Rathbone :D

Tessa was my favourite character in TID. I love her passion for books, and the courage she had to stand up for others. She was an amazing character, and such a good role model, really.

I love Tessa, she's amazing and has so much spirit and faith in everyone else. :) Then when Magnus was saying she was lucky to find two people to love. Oh I hit rock bottom- an emotional wreck.

They may just turn up. Then again if it was me, I'd be thinking they were glamoured and start talking to thin air :')

I read past the bit in City of Bones yesterday when Clary walks into Jace on the piano and he says “Alec, is that you?” Oh god I cried.

Call.me.tictac | 337 comments I'm really scared for simon... He's like one of my favourite characters and ever since I saw him in the CoBs movie I just love him more...
But I do honestly think that he may die...these are why i think this...
Cassie a while ago said that Simons band would finally figure out a name for the band and it will be sad ;( *a tribute to Simon himself*

She also said that a character would die for another character... Could Simon sacrifice himself for Isabelle, clary, or even jace?? *remember in CoA when Simon needed blood, and would if died if not for jace who by letting simon drink saved his life and nearly lost his own ... :,,(
And lastly simon no longer has the mark, and even though he is still a vampire, he's not invincible... I also don't think it would be fare if Simon did survive the war... Cause honestly he will just have to watch all his loved one die of old age...and that I think will kill him more *if u get what I mean***

Simon is a very loveable character. I can't imagine them naming the band after Simon, considering half of the crazy names they come out with, but if he was to die. I think they would do some kind of tribute, but then again he's a vampire so I don't know how that would go down.

I don't think it will be Simon that sacrifices himself, but something of himself. I think it will be his immortality. You don't need to be immortal to be a vampire, you can just die of old age.
It would be nice for Simon to repay the favour to Jace- which I think he would do on behalf of Clary.
It's not fair for him to survive the war? Well Magnus and Tessa are immortal too. They had to leave loved ones behind. Simon knows he immortal and knows it will happen either way- whether it be through war or old age- he won't have them forever. Nothing lasts forever.

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Guys, I've just finished City of Lost Souls, and I still haven't really picked up anything that could link to CoHF.

But there are a few things, though.
I think Simon will lose his immortality, or have it taken away from him. In CoLS, Camille said there is a spell in the Book of the White to reverse immortality. That was the one Alec was hoping to use on Magnus.
Or if that spell isn't used on Simon, it may be used to cure Jem. In the Clockwork Princess epilogue, Jem did say it was Magnus who'd found a cure for him.

Oh, dear God.
When Clary said to Jace "Read to me", and Jace picked up A Tale of Two Cities, and on the inside of the book it said With hope at last, William Herondale.
I was in tears. I couldn't even breathe.
I was like "Will … That was Will's. And you're - you're touching it."

And then, in the epilogue of CoLS, Clary was like "Were you ever in love? Before you become a Silent Brother? Was there ever anyone you'd die for?", and Brother Zachariah said "Two people. If you do not believe me, ask Magnus Bane."

Why do books have the power to destroy me?

Okay, out of curiosity, have you ever heard the song Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood & The Destroyers? I was listening to that song whenever Sebastian appeared, and it made him seem so much sexier! That's like, Sebastian's song …

message 178: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) I think some things that were in TMI and TID link into CoHF, I can remember reading that Cassie couldn't put anything into Jem's POV, because he'd give too much away about CoHF :)

I think the book that Clary and Jace retrieved in CoG- The Grey book or the White book was it?- Well I think that has a lot to do with CoHF. I think that will have VERY powerful spells in- that will come into contact in CoHF. I do believe Simon or Magnus will lose their immortality, I'm not sure it can be taken away by force. Only by free will.
The Silent Brothers found Jem a cure at the end of Clockwork Princess- That was how he was able to go with Tessa, right? :)

I can't really deal very well with the inter-linking of ancestors and descendants- I become an emotional wreck. It is always happy tears and smiles, but never the less emotional.
When I read that scene, it was more of a “OH MY GOD, HE HAS FAMILY! LIKE ACTUAL FAMILY!!” :') Since I didn't know who Will was at the time.

Stoppit! You're getting me all emotional! :( I don't cope very well with Jem and his love interests-mushyness! :')
Clary best get her act together and question Magnus Bane! And we may find out Magnus's real name in CoHF. Since he apparently made up “Magnus Bane” by himself! :P

I think books are just trees that are getting back at the readers, for being cut down! :')

When Hodge is talking about “Yesterday you were just a normal girl. Now your whole life has been turned upside down. There is only one thing you need to know- The stories you heard as a little girl about monsters and nightmares, legends whispered around camp-fires... they're all true.”- I piss everyone off, for saying it at the same time. :') I need a medal for reciting it by heart XD

I haven't :( But I have listened to Hell by Disturbed... and that always makes imagine him breaking into an institute, taking everyone down by force. Then a big brawl break out :')

P.S loving the add on to your name! :D

message 179: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Yeah, I read that somewhere as well. That just proves the epilogue of Clockwork Princess is after City of Heavenly Fire. But I've always wondered if the epilogue of City of Heavenly Fire is after the epilogue of Clockwork Princess...

I imagine the spells in the Book of the White are ancient and powerful. The Grey Book is the book with all the different runes in:)

It'd be beautiful if Magnus were to lose his immortality. When he broke up with Alec, he said "I thought about it myself. Being immortal, watching the people you love fade and die... I wanted to grow old with someone, because it was the only thing I'd never done. I wanted to be with someone I loved - and I thought that that someone might be you, Alexander."
I cried so much. And that witchlight rune-stone - why was it flashing different colours when they kissed goodbye?

I couldn't remember reading anything about a William Herondale when I read them the first time, but now, since I've been taking my time with re-reading them, I've picked it up, and cried!

Wait - he made that name up? That's insane! I couldn't imagine Magnus as not being Magnus!

That line was like, the entire of the City of Bones movie trailer, with All I Need by Radiohead playing in the background. I loved the trailers; hated the film.

Oh, and thanks. Couldn't resist :)

message 180: by Laura Jayne (new)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) Now that is a complicated set of writing, but it could very well be true. Cassies writing is complicated, so I could understand that the epilogue a could be switched around and in different places. :)

I think The White book has a lot to do with City of Heavenly Fire, because of how powerful the spells are, I'm guessing the reversal spell for immortality is in there? :)

I would give anything for Magnus to become immortal and grow old with Alec. I would cry and squeal with happiness! :)
There scenes of love and commitment are heart wrenching and never fail to take a place in my heart.
My own little theory of the colourful witch light is that because of all the love that radiates between them. All the magic and love. I'm a romantic and sappy person. :')

Yes, I'm re-reading City of Bones and I keep stomping in and out of my room, telling my mum how much they frigged up the movie. Then my mum said "The book is always better than the movie" :')

That is my reaction. Can you imagine him with a different name like Eugene or something? :') He suits Magnus so much! :D

It was my favouritest of quotes, now I just get excited every-time I see "All the stories are true" in City of Bones :') Since that's my tattoo as well.

No worries :D

I love Malec so I hope they stay alive but I think one will live, one will die:(

At first when I read CP2 I didn't cry because I didn't realize what it meant. I then read it again because of COHF, then I cried a little because I get what it meant to Tessa and because...(scratch that).

"Life is like a book and I haven't read all the pages yet"-William Herondale (love that quote)

Laura Jayne (lauraajayynebooks) The Infernal Devices completely stole away and into a place in my heart. The feels and emotions I got from those books, were out of this world.

I would love Magnus & Alec to stay together, grow old together, anything. Just a life of happiness together! :)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 1379 comments Have any of you guys seen the playlist for City of Heavenly Fire?

Apparently all the songs - and there is only one verse out of each song - mean something to the story of City of Heavenly Fire.

There's a song called Breakable:
Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts?
Just a cage of rib bones
And other various parts
So it's fairly simple
To cut right through the mess
And to stop the muscle
That makes us confess

That doesn't sound promising …

But you know Lilith who in C.Cs is known for bringing back Seb from the dead and him having her blood running though her veins is like an actual demon ...like she is mentioned in the bible and other stuff, anyways this series she is know as the mother of stillborn, *meaning she can't have babies without them becoming stillborn, so she is Blame for all babies that are born dead.. But she looks at Sebastian like he is her own son... So does that make him the.... son of stillborn o.O....OR as I like to say the prince of incest (Jamie lannister, is the king of incest for me...those of you who watch GoT will know what I'm talking about)
