rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Elizabeth Emily I'm using this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... for The Short Life of Bree Tanner (I'm about to start now). We just have to mark that it is this book since we are also using the thread for Life and Death.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Mystery It would be so fitting, and it isn't like she deserved any less then eternal punishment that horrific for all she's done!

message 112: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Yes! I mean, reading Fairest, I was baffled by her ability to convince herself that she was doing the right thing. There is something seriously wrong with her.

Gayatri | 977 comments @ mystery @ rachel that would be a suitable punishment. She is absolutely horrible

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Not too bad, Connie! I had a great first two weeks and have been kind of slumpish ever since... slowly getting back into it. You?

message 118: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I'm doing okay, I can't read much during the week because of uni so I'm trying to jam as much as possible into my weekends. So I'm not doing as well as I could be but university comes first!

message 119: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments School should ALWAYS come first! I have exams from Monday onwards so I'll probably be slacking off too... hopefully it'll pick up for both of us soon.

message 120: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I finish for christmas on the 14th of December so I'm planning on just bombing through as many books as possible at the end of december

message 121: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Quick question what book is it, in the beginning there is some kind of polar plunge with the athletes at the and then the lead girl jumps and to save the guy because she thinks he's drowning??? Then he might give her a ride home afterwords, may be in a BW? Does this ring any bells with anybody??? school,

message 122: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I posted an update of how I'm doing on my blog, I didn't realise that I had already completely finished 3 series!

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Connie- Fantastic job! You've read so much this month you should be so proud. And I love the idea of a half-way progress check. I might do a post of my own!

@Berit- I have no idea, I'm sorry!

message 126: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Scott | 2367 comments Hooray, got my first book up! And it was a 5th in the series buddy read, so a pretty good way to start :) Now that school is finished, I have to see how many I can get through in December...

message 127: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Victoria- I found it hard juggling exams and reading this month too! But I'm glad you got your first book read. And wow, 10 points is a good way to start.

message 128: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments Is it just me that is finding it weird not having a team to talk to this month?

So I'm probably just going to post here a lot more because it's nice talking to people about books

@Olivia: I've finished 4 so far and I'm planning on finishing another tonight! You?

Nope, I've been finding it weird to not have people to talk to either. :( It's kind of lonely actually.

I also miss some of the accountability I feel to a team. I find it helps me read more. D:

message 130: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I miss the organisation a team usually brings! And you get to know people a lot better when you're in a team together! Competition really is healthy sometimes :P

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Connie wrote: "I miss the organisation a team usually brings! And you get to know people a lot better when you're in a team together! Competition really is healthy sometimes :P"

Exactly! Me too! I usually try to be a serious team as well because I find they are much more competitive and it gives me more drive to read! :)

message 132: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Connie & @bookbuyer- I've never participated in a team challenge before because I don't know how much reading I can get done during school months (depends on the amount of work I have etc.) so I don't want to let the team down. But it sounds like so much fun! I really want to try it one time. Maybe in Jan? I have a break all that month. We'll see.

You should definitely join! If you are worried about how much you are able to read you can always join a 'fun' team. Some people on those teams are only able to read one book and it's no problems. :)

message 134: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments Rachel, they're so much fun!

I used to hate the obligation I felt but it improved my reading so much!

message 135: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Bookbuyer- Oh, I didn't realise that! I'll look into it then.

@Connie- Really? Okay. I'll definitely give one a try then!

I'm trying to stay in the top ten as well. I've never been in the top ten and I really want to this time. It is not easy.

message 138: by Tati (new)

Tati I'm missing the groups chat as well...

I've been reading, but I haven't posted my reviews in a while, so I have no idea where I'd be in the ranking

message 139: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I think I've hit a slump

But I also like winning :P

I'm very competitive

message 140: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I miss the team interaction as well! I've never had a reading slump, my reading is pretty consistent, just enough to get me near the top, but never at the top, LOL! But it's all good, I never reread and I rarely if ever read books I don't want to read.:-)

message 146: by Katrina G (new)

Katrina G | 4550 comments I was doing really good to start off with, but then school went a little crazy on me. I have all my finals next week, so after that I'm looking forward to doing nothing but reading. (And going to work when I have to)

The Secret Fire (The Alchemist Chronicles, #1) by C.J. Daugherty and Splintered Souls (Flames of Time, #1) by Erica Lucke Dean both were the first books of series and had fire.
