~ October Challenge: Reading Between the Wines ~
It’s that time again…Wine Harvest! Pick your favorites and read according to the type of glass in which it is served.

Rules: Pick your reading level for the month of September, selecting from the following categories (you may choose a category for a wine glass more than once, if you desire). If you find another connection to the glass style, you may use that, too.

Remember, you may have two Reader’s Choices, or more, if you have more than three books that fall into the other categories. Also, you may use the “Spell-it-Out” option and/or the Birthday Babes' "Wild Cards."

Feel free to choose more than one option (i.e. some of the categories, plus spelling out a word of your choice).

Duration: October 1st to 31st.

Levels:
1-2 - Easy
3-5 - Medium
6-9 - Harder
10 or greater - Hardest
Categories:

Alsace: Read a book where the protagonist is tall and slender, or is English, German, Dutch, Frisian, or Scandinavian. Or the genre of the book is Gothic.

Bordeaux: Read a book that has an X in the title, series name, or that of the hero, heroine, or author.

Burgundy: Read a book with a burgundy bookcover. Or where the protagonist is a politician.

Cabernet Sauvignon: Read a book where the heroine is “full-bodied,” voluptuous, or rubenesque.

Chardonnay: Read a book with a green bookcover, is set in a New World, or is about someone’s “rite of passage.”

Coupe: Celebrate! Read a book that is the end of the series, or has you caught-up in the series so far.

Flute: Read a book where the protagonist is musically inclined. Or where they attend a wedding celebration.

Hock: Read a book set in England or is a medieval sub-genre.

Madeira: Read a book that has an island setting. Or where the protagonist has “fortified” (super) powers.

Port: Read a book that is set in a harbor town or cove. Or is about a sea captain.

Sauternes: Read a book that is at least 15 years old. Or features a character that is 15 years of age.

Sherry: Read a book that is an epilogue to another book.

Standard Red: Read a book with blood depicted on the cover. Or has a bright red cover.

Standard White: Read a book with a white cover.

Stemless: Read a book that is a “standalone.”

Solo Cup: Read a book with a collage setting. Or where the hero or heroine is considered a tramp.

Tokaji: Read a book with a sweet romance, has a topaz-colored covered, or is set in Hungry or Czechoslovakia. Or where someone is noble.

Tulip: Read a book with flowers on the cover. Or with a protagonist that likes gardening, works in a flower shop, etc.
Spell-It-Out Option: Choose a word that reminds you of October. Read books with titles, series names, authors (first or last name), character (first or last name), that begin with letters that correspond to letters of the word you choose. You may ignore the indefinite and definite articles (a, an, the, etc.).
Example of Spell-It-Out:
W. - Worth, Lenora - Her Holiday Protector
I.   - Irresistibly Yours, by Lauren Layne
N. - Nancy CoCo - All I Want For Christmas is Fudge
E. - Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #5 - House of Whispers, by J.L. Bryan
