Thanks so much for the picks. I joined the group and this challenge so that I can branch out to different types of genres. I found lots of interesting books that I will be adding to my to-read list.

Thanks

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Pam

We have a lot of books in common and you have a ton of great books on your TBR, so I really enjoying picking some great ones for you. I hope something sounds intriguing.

1. Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison is an amazing book hiding behind a cheesy cover. I love how Pia and Dragos interact and built their relationship. Or check out a short but fun story with Love at First Date by Susan Hatler. Ellen is a planner and she's about to learn you can't plan love.

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison Love at First Date (Better Date than Never, #1) by Susan Hatler

2. Kristen Ashley's books are like crack to me. I shouldn't even like them, much less love them (as I usually hate the uber-alpha male), but once I start one it is difficult to put it down. So here is one of my guilty pleasures - The Gamble. Or check out a Scotland castle with a bit of time-travel and vampires with Master of Ecstasy by Nina Bangs

The Gamble (Colorado Mountain, #1) by Kristen Ashley Master of Ecstasy (Mackenzie Vampires, #1) by Nina Bangs

3. Truly, Madly by Heather Webber is a great cozy/paranormal/romance book. The characters are fun and Lucy's twist on the family power/curse is useful. I didn't see any of Quick's older historicals on your shelf, so I thought you might like a tale of flowers and knights with Desire by Amanda Quick.

Truly, Madly (Lucy Valentine #1) by Heather Webber Desire by Amanda Quick

4. Another cheesy cover hiding greatness - On the Edge by Ilona Andrews. Rose is struggling to support her younger brothers in a place between magic and the normal world. Or check out the Cupcake Lover's group with some quirky characters in Fool for Love by Beth Ciotta.

On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews
Fool for Love (Cupcake Lovers, #1) by Beth Ciotta

5. A paranoid author dies and stipulates his possible heirs must find the killer which leads to an alliance between Evie and Max as they try to prove her innocence in a very quirky background in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evie by Marianne Stillings. A fun cozy with some very weird relationships is The Diva Runs Out of Thyme by Krista Davis. I love the chapter quotes.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evie by Marianne Stillings The Diva Runs Out of Thyme (A Domestic Diva Mystery, #1) by Krista Davis

6. I haven't read this, but have heard great things about it (and its on my TBR) - The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Of check out what happens when you accidently become a goddess in Divine By Mistake by P.C. Cast

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss Divine By Mistake (Partholon, #1) by P.C. Cast

7. I'm not big on westerns, so these both take place in the US. First there is a gifted military man with amnesia trying to win back his wife he left years ago with Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti or the start of my favorite YA series about kids from many different patheons (Valkyries, Spartans, Amazons, etc) being trained to take on Loki's followers with Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep

Forgotten Sins (Sin Brothers, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep

8. Open Season by Linda Howard is a great suspensful romance as Daisy tries to spice up her life and ends up seeing something she shouldn't. Or check out an oldie, but goodie cozy set in an amazing mystery bookstore with Death On Demand by Carolyn G. Hart. Annie and Max have a great relationship and probably only Eve and Roarke have more books.

Open Season by Linda Howard Death On Demand (Death On Demand, #1) by Carolyn G. Hart

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Hi, Karla with a K! I had great fun with your picks (some overlap, but not too much), hope that you find something that you like.

1. Set in NY. From your TBR, The Rosie Effect (Don Tillman, #2) by Graeme Simsion The Rosie Effect (Don Tillman #2) I liked this book, perhaps not as much as the first.

2. Set in Scotland or a book you consider a guilty pleasure. On Dublin Street On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young is both, set in Edinburgh and a guilty pleasure in that…well the writing isn’t fabulous, but there’s something about the characters and settings that sucks me in almost every time. There is some steam in this series, though, fair warning (I guess that’s part of the guilt). https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

3. First in a series, from your TBR. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7..., the first in the Heather Wells series. Size 12 Is Not Fat (Heather Wells, #1) by Meg Cabot Lots of fun; mystery with romance.

4. Book with an HEA (happily ever after ending) from your TBR, Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2.... Love Kristan Higgins, and this one is a lot of fun.

5. Unconventional character/couple: I loved this Georgette Heyer book (very clean, btw), T The Convenient Marriage by Georgette Heyer he Convenient Marriage, which is very funny and features an unconventional heroine (who is not beautiful and stutters and has wonderful character). Heyer wrote quality romance, and reminds me of Austen.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

6.Recommend a longer book. From your TBR, at 448 pp, a spooky looking book for October: Ghost Moon Ghost Moon by Karen Robards https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...

7. Romance set in the American West: Animal Magnetism (Animal Magnetism, #1) by Jill Shalvis Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8..., which features a group of veterinarians out west and a funny woman who runs an animal shelter.

8. Red, green and white on the cover: Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1) by Tessa Dare Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare. I’m reading this one now and liking it so far. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

I'm sorry if my comment sounded bitchy! I really didn't mean it too! I hadn't read the description of the Rosie Effect since I already knew I wanted to read it, so I was caught off guard. I've had people ruin other books/movies I wanted to read recently, so I just took it as another person doing that. I should have read the description of the book before I commented.

I am soooooo sorry if I hurt your feelings in anyway and if I took the fun out of the challenge for you!!!!!!!!! I didn't mean to.
