Rosaline laughed, Emmy's head whipped in Salem's mother's direction"What's so funny?" Emmy asked curious

Salem looked at her mother closely. "So tell me mother," she said in the overly calm voice of someone on the edge, "What did you expect from me?"

Salem laughed. "You think I'm not choosing this? You really don't know me," her laughter was bitter and slightly amused. "I can stop whenever I want to." She proved it by totally relaxing. Her energy disappeared inside herself and even her eyes were calm. "Better?"Damien finished styling his hair and looked in the mirror one last time before picking up the thick manilla file again. Dave growled and grabbed her wrist roughly, jerking her towards him, "Then I guess you can take her place. Redheads are brats anyway."
Why did I even take karate for four years of my life if I'm not going to use it, Shannon thought and executed a not so perfect roundhouse kick to Daves jaw, but it did the trick. He stumbled back and gave her the opportunity to punch him in the nose, and kick him where it hurts.
Dave groaned in pain but stepped forward and kissed her, pinning her down with his body.
"Get off her." called an icy voice from the entrance of the alleyway.

Shannon turned her head and tried to get him off of her, but they didn't teach you how to get a roughly 200 pound man off of you in karate. She heard a male voice and thanked the stars, maybe this Dave guy would actually listen.
Ben lunged at him, tackling him to the ground.
Dave swung at his jaw but Ben dodged his fist and rolled to his feet only to kick Dave I'm the ribs. Dave got up and started kicking at him. They fought for about 5 minutes until Ben kicked him so hard, he would probably never have kids. Dave lay on the ground whimpering.

Ben nodded, "No problem. Just glad you're okay. And how did you both get involved?" he asked, looking at her.
"I don't know how the other girl did, but I tried to help and I guess he liked brunettes better than redheads," She said shrugging. "Well, I need to go sanitize, but it's nice to meet you...uhhh..."
"Shannon," She said and smiled. "I'll see you around."
Ben nodded, "Well Shannon, that was pretty heroic of you." he half-smiled at her.
"Thanks, but it takes more than flattery to woo me," Shannon said then waved a little and left, trying to find the nearest store.
"Ummm... Okay? Have fun cleaning up." he called after her, his voice filled with sarcasm.
Shannon glared back at him. She saw a gas station and ran in and grabbed some Clorox wipes. She ripped open the package and started wiping her face down.
"You gonna buy that," The cashier asked looking at her warily.
"Of course," Shannon said then paid and left, she didn't need more people staring at her as she washed saliva off her face.
