"Thanks." she said, and half-smiled at him.

She almost sighed. He looked cute when he grinned like that, and it almost made her forget Zack.
"Oh, no!" Gwen exclaimed. "Is she alright?"

"So I'll see you around yeah?" Declan said nodding
"Yeah, when isn't she?" Rife asked smiling
"Yeah..." Dani said faintly.

((Hey want to send our ladies to the rune room again?))

She laid back against the pillow and counted the tiny holes in her ceiling.
Dani turned the other way and walked home.

In between one step and the next Emmy's vision began to blurr and double. She leaned against the nearest wall for support. Sagging, she slid to the floor and was gone before she hit the floor.
Declan dissapeared before he hit the shadows.

Salem slipped into sleep and found herself in the room from before. "Oh hell no!"
Dani went home and sat sown at the edge of the bed, her was spinning. He was back. He couldn't be back. Why was he back? Dani shook her head, shook the thoughts about Zack away and turned her thought to the messenger...

Emmy whirled and glared at the walls
"You're kidding me!" She yelled
"Actually not." Her mother said calmly "Why do you hate this place so much?" She asked genuinely curious
Emmy rolled her eyes
"It's like a cage I can't escape." she growled

Declan appeared in a shadowed road and turned up the neck of his jackett. He bent his head and walked down the street like he had many times before.
Emmy looked up at the sound of Salem's voice
"So you got us both again?"
Salem's mother came forth as if the shadows condensed and made her
"Emmeline, you two being apart for so long made this room, well not what it used to be."
Emmy's mother spoke again
"And you being captured and tortured didn't help your mental state any."
"Oh and the fact that the Shadows needed me to get into this room to use the power had NOTHING to do with it?" Emmy asked sarcastically

Salem looked over at her mother. She wished she could see her more often if even if she was confusing. "What do you mean, mother?"

Salem's mother looked at her daughter and smiled softly
"Rosaline. Just tell the girl. they need to know anyway." Emmy's mother told her.
Emmy raised an eyebrow
"tell Salem what?"

"Aloysia, do you seriously believe that they should know this?" Rosaline asked looking at her.
"Yes, Rosaline I do." Aloysia said firmly
"Then spill!" Emmy yelled her eyes turing silver. She had no idea where the anger at her mother was comming from but it was there and it was powerful.

"Emmy calm down first please," Salem pleaded. She just wanted to know.

Emmy shook her head quickly and her eyes faded back to black slowly.
Rosaline smiled knowingly
"See Aloysia? You're daughter is too volitile, even she knows it."
Emmy balled her hands to fists at her side
Aloysia sighed
"Emmeline." She implored

"Are you guys ever going to tell us?" Salem said, getting upset.

Aloysia nodded
"And your daughter is Impatient, so leave my daughter alone Rosaline." She said at her then she turned her attention to Salem and Emmy
"The truth is, you two won't make it past your next birthday."
Emmy's eyes widened
"And what you did with Patrik today Salem? That was supposed to have killed you both."

Salem's eyes darkened. "What do you mean we won't make it past our next birthday? As in we die?"
After she'd calmed down a little bit she answered their question.
"I saved him."

"Yes. As in you die." Rosaline said evenly
"We know you saved him, that's the point. It should have killed you both what you did. But somehow, you all lived."
"I wonder why that is." Rosaline said silkily directing it at Emmy
"Yeah, it's my fault that Patrik and Salem lived. How could I have been so thoughtless? Salem saved him and it was a huge sacrifice on her part." Emmy growled

Salem frowned. "No it wasn't Emmy. It wasn't a sacrifice. I didn't lose something without gaining something back...and why are you guys upset about us living?" she asked, glaring at the mothers.

Aloysia sighed
"It's not that. It's the fact of what happens when you accedentally escape fate's clutches."
Emmy laughed
"When did you ever believe in fate?" she asked spitting out the word "You were more of a free will person."
ROsaline looked at Emmy
"You learn things here. Things that you can get when you accept the fact that you two are special and one of you needs to open the power of this room."
Emmy looked wary
"And which one of us would that be?"
Aloysia almost looked sad
"I think you two already know that."

"That's my girl."
Emmy sighed and looked tired and almost childish again
Aloysia looked at Emmy
"Yes, Emmy. It's you. Salem isn't-"
"Shut up." Emmy said deathly quiet
"What-?"
"I said Shut Up." Emmy repeated in the same tone.

"Emmeline-" Aloysia started
"I just want to know one thing. Was anything you told me about what happened to you true? Was-" Emmy made a noise that killed the words in her throat
Rosaline went on when Aloysia could not
"You're right Emmeline. Salem's not enough, as you say."
"You never answered me mother." Emmy growled
Emmy could tell by the look in her mothers eyes that she didn't want to.

Emmy looked at her mother darkly and when Aloysia spoke the sound of Emmy's world crashing in around her was almost audible
"You have to understand Emmeline, I did what I had to do. There was no other way, I needed to get your father back. I couldn't loose him, I just couldn't. When he was captured on that raid..."

((kay, and which mom is which...I'm kidna confused?))

((Aloysia is Emmy's mom and Rosaline is Salem's mom. Ik it is pretty confusing))
"You gave yourself in for him" Emmy finished "You willingly gave yourself in"
"Emmeline, it was more than that." Aloysia said eyes pleading with her to understand "I had a history, a history that your father was going to pay for. I needed to try to save him from that."

"You didn't just give yourself," Salem said quietly but intensely. "You gave your daughter. Did you even think of her? Did you think of what they'd do to her?"

"I didn't know about her." Aloysia said quietly "If I had-"
"if you had I would still be in the same exact position as I am now." Emmy said each work filled with poison "You knew that you were pregnent with me before they even started the experiments. You didn't even do anything."
"I thought, I was immune to the Shadow weapons, it stood to reason that you would be too.."
"That's such bull. You didn't think!" Emmy yelled at her

She let go and pulled on Emmy's mother's energy. "Bitch."

"You're getting better at that." She managed to get out
"What happens to me once I unleash the power of this room?" Emmy asked suddenly
"You hear them whispering to you? They nag and pull at you, even when your awake." Rosaline said smoothly
"How do you know that?" Emmy hadn't told anyone that much

"My mother wasn't the most perceptive person alive. She wouldn't know if I screamed it in her face. But Salem you can hear them right? It's like music in an IPod headphone"

"What exactly did they do to me?"
Aloysia looked at her
"With what they did and what they just did to you when you were captured, you're a walking time bomb."

"No Salem, things, like people, don't change. They are what they are and that's the end of it. Emmeline and you have a set fate, as does everyone else in that house that you all are living in. How do you think it's so hard to get there? It's in between worlds Salem, you know who put it there? Emmeline did, by accident."
Emmy had stopped listening and started running her hands over the walls.

"God bless your soul 'cause you're hellbound if you can't figure that out!"
