Kamiko My respectful self: They are totally entitled to their opinion
My defensive self: So what? Annabeth haters are rude

Oh yeah, no one messes with my family! Haha I gotchu

Lol it's like you can read my mind. That's exactly what's going on in my brain. I'll probably go schizo soon like the gods.

Rachel Jackson But after a lot of thinking. I decided that I'll let my respectful side take over. ( unless of course some really rude comments are made then ill automatically go defensive) . Because the beautiful thing about this series and the seven is that they're flawed. Each one of them isn't a perfect hero. They have they're positives and negatives. So every fan will really connect to one or two of them and have a strong dislike for someone else. Heck I've met people on goodreads who don't like Leo! And there are of course the legions of Annabeth , Piper , Jason and Frank haters. But there are a LOT of people who really love these characters. I think I've never met a Percy hater though.
Wow I got pretty philosophical didn't I? I think it's the cake I just ate. : D

Ya totally. :)

message 206: by sim (new) - rated it 5 stars

sim Yeah exactly! I've also seen many people hate Leo! What the heck is wrong with them? I can't even understand what the reasons might be! Is it because he's scrawny and a son of Hephaestus, Leo haters? Because I just can't think of any other reasons! Leo's totally awesome!

Kathryn Leo is my favorite! I mean I love Percy,I will always love him, but Leo is like another love. HE'S SO COOL! He's like all fire, witty comebacks, and has a freakin awesome tool belt. How can anyone not love him. He's like the comedy relief for the crew, and really nice. Sorry for my ramble but I tend get defensive quickly

Kathryn I can see how he could be annoying in other peoples eyes but I don't see HOW they can see it, if that makes sense. Sure he is joking most of the time but as he has told us it is to hide his pain, and even when the crew thinks its not a good time for it but he does it any way it lightens the mood. So I don't know,I like it

Kathryn Ohhh yeah like, okay i understand he's like that one friend that is annoying but you love, right?

Kathryn Haha...mmaaaaybbe....

message 212: by Ananth (new)

Ananth That means it's a yes. But do you know any Hazel haters?

message 213: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko No, but I like Leo he's just not one of my favorites

Kathryn I've never met any Hazel haters but I have met Hazel tolerators which annoys me. Hazel is freaking kick-A,shes not my absolute favorite female character but i respect her and her amazingness

Kathryn YAY

Kathryn I don't know, probably because you said I couldn't have said it better.

Kamiko Yeah, I did say that

Rachel Jackson Ananth wrote: "That means it's a yes. But do you know any Hazel haters?"

Hmm no. I think she has a very likeable personality. She is strong and sweet. So I think most ppl like her.
But you never know.

I think people who really love Frank don't like Leo much automatically cause Leo is pretty mean to Frank in MoA.

Yeah, possibly. I can think of another reason...there are some people who don't like characters because they aren't good looking (bullshit if you ask me. Personality is what matters more). Maybe some Leo-haters don't like him coz he's not good looking enough? It's stupid but could be true :/

Well I think people hate characters because if their decisions. I met a lot of fangirls who met Jason because he chose Piper over Reyna and I was like WTH?? But they were like 'Of course he'll chose an Aphrodite girl!!' Like can't they see the bigger picture?????

message 224: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko I don't like Jason because he challenges Percy when Percy could beat him blindfolded. The terrain doesn't matter, it's the fact that Percy has faced a lot more. Heck, he's faced things even the gods are afraid of. Annabeth and Percy make the perfect team. Wisdom and strength.

message 225: by Neha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Neha Uhh...so what? Ok, Percy is strong and Annabeth is strong. But Jason is strong too, and a very capable leader. Everyone got its own strengths right? And..I don't remember when did he challenged Percy exactly?????? That was a EIDOLON inside him!!!!!! In fact is there any Single Line in HoH in Jason's POV where he comments about his leadership being shared by Percy? Any line which suggests that Jason despises Percy or something????

message 226: by Neha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Neha And I'm not despising Percy or Annabeth AT ALL. I admire Percy SO much, because of his way of solving problems (and having a knack into getting problems lol :D) and I admire Annabeth for the way she uses her wisdom as well as weapons! They're both really great! But I Also admire Jason for his leadership abilities and his approach to make things right for everyone (aka selflessness). I could continue if my fingers weren't hurting...:P

message 227: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko They don't despise each other and they keep wondering who would have won in a fight. Jason's a very capable leader, but there would be only a few select situations of when he would be a leader of the 7. Like, Annabeth and Percy were incapacitated. In The Mark of Athena, there are a few lines where it suggests they're wondering who's more powerful. I didn't say I hated Jason, exactly. I just think Percy and Annabeth are WAY better and more powerful at times. In a fight, though neither would get out without quite a few bruises and...*cough cough* a concussion *cough cough* Jason. He gets those a lot. I read a head cannon where Percy gives Jason a blue brick for his birthday...

message 228: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko I rarely type that much.

Kathryn I agree, Jason is powerful and all but, never there when you need him, always there when you don't

Kathryn He hasn't really proved himself to me yet I guess

message 231: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko Yeah, he's done amazing stuff, but there's always one important test a character goes through. Like, Frank proved himself(not that I doubted him, he's awesome!) in The House of Hades, just like Hazel did, nu meres times. Percy and Annabeth proved themselves, I guess, but Hazel and Frank did it the most, since we've already seen what Percabeth can do...sort of

Uh duh! Percy is more powerful than Jason. But the same is for Leo or Frank or any of the other six.. I don't think that's the reason for disliking Jason.. Anyways I'm kind of psychologically attached to each of the seven so I favor all of them no matter what ^_^. The way they face problems..everyone has their different approach and it really inspires me!

message 233: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko Does anyone feel that The Heroes of Olympus is the worst demigods have, therefore more interesting than PJO? Just wondering...

message 234: by Neha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Neha Kathryn wrote: "I agree, Jason is powerful and all but, never there when you need him, always there when you don't"

I think if Jason wasn't there for Nico at That time, Nico would still be awkward around others... Now that Jason helped him, Nico seems to be more open.

message 235: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko I agree with you, totally. I like Jason, but I'm all Greek.

Well Heroes of Olympus is a journey of a whole lot of character development. None of them were bad in the past, but they've certainly got better

Dang I knew it! I'm from Camp Jupiter :D

message 238: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko I feel so bad for Nico. Think about how bad it must've been in the 1930's. Like, people are jerks(please excuse my language) about it now, back then, they hadn't even given equal rights to everybody. It must have been horrible keeping it in

IKR! Poor Nico. But Nico doesn't need anyone to feel sorry for him (I know this because I kind of know what he has gone through), he just wants people to respect him, or give him some space, or at least don't judge him on the basis of what he is and fully accept him. Sorries are overdue...

message 240: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko I've been wondering, if Percy and Annabeth would do anything for each other, than why isn't Annabeth's fatal flaw loyalty, too. For that matter, why isn't the 7's fatal flaw loyalty?

message 241: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko I guess you can have more than one fatal flaw.

I think fatal loyalty only applies to Percy in Annabeth's situation. Fatal flaws are only the most serious of all flaws, and you can only have one, I think (I don't think its actually ever clarified). Annabeth's weakest point is, generally, hubris; also, the other seven have very different faults, although they all share a very strong sense of loyalty towards one another, as they seem to be an unrelated (for the most part) family.

message 243: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko They would die from guilt if someone died, especially Percy

message 244: by Ananth (new)

Ananth But I think Jason's fatal flaw is hubris.

Kathryn HAHA! thats kinda really true

message 246: by Kamiko (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kamiko Totally. He feels like he always has to be the leader, being the son f Jupiter.

Kathryn And I know he has defeated a lot of things and helped in the Titan war but does he even remember all of that? Isn't all erased from his memory? He shouldn't feel like he should be leader of he doesn't remember being leader.

Matthew Kathryn wrote: "And I know he has defeated a lot of things and helped in the Titan war but does he even remember all of that? Isn't all erased from his memory? He shouldn't feel like he should be leader of he does..."

By MoA he remembers it all again. Juno mentioned in TLH that his memories will return with time, and 6 months pass between those books.

Kathryn Ok yeah I wasn't sure if he remembered all of it or only a little. Thanks
