The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Hi everyone! This is my first time playing this challenge, but I feel like I've been on some other teams with Belinda and Steph Ann before. :)I'm good with Belinda being captain and I like Split Second Readers the best for the name so far.

Just a heads up too girls: I'll be rolling about 5pm my time tomorrow arvo which is midnight US central time - not long now!!
Morning teamies - just an FYI we will be on vacation from Sat Feb 15 > Sat Feb 22. I will try to figure out my book asap on Fri 14. We may have only spotty internet access. Not sure yet as we have never been to this resort. It says internet access but some only have in the lobby - which can be a pain. I will make sure I complete my review at some point during that week before the next roll. I'll have all sort of books avail to me on my iPad while on vacay. Can't wait! Must get away from all this Chicago snow - I can't take it anymore,lol
I'm in central Illinois, Melissa, and I'm so jealous you get to get away from the snow for awhile! I'm so sick of it! I'm also getting tired of these days with -20 windchills. I have a doctor's appointment first thing tomorrow morning, but I'll check in with what I'm going to read as soon as that's done! So excited to get started! :)
I know - it's been a horrid winter - however if I remember back to my childhood we usually had really bad winters and they have been very mild over about the last 10 yrs. I guess I shouldn't complain. I'm just so grateful that hubby wanted to get away from work after the holidays!! It's working out well. The kids will only miss a couple of days that week due to days off school. Win- win!!

Review: Josie is called to the hospital to pick up her husband who left her high and dry two years ago. She just wants to see him so he can sign the divorce papers from there short marriage. Too bad he has amnesia from taking a hit to the head after taking out three thugs. Shane Dean can't remember anything from his life. First night at Josie's place three men come through the guest bedroom window and Shane incapacitates them. Beginning of a great suspense thriller. Shane has been raised in some form of military camp with his brothers and he's learned to not share anything with anybody. He views Josie as soft and must be protected. Will he win back his wife's heart or is he the bad guy and Josie shouldn't trust him?

It was a recommendation from another GR friend Pat. It was fabulous. I just recently read book 1 of her Dark Protectors series which was good too >>

Review: Naomi suffers a horrible loss and decides that her life in the spotlight in Hollywood isn't all it's cracked up to be so she decides to come back to her small hometown in Georgia and try to right the wrong from years ago, when she broke up with Jake before she left town. In the time that she's been gone, he had moved on and had to deal with his own loss. Can time heal all wounds and can he forgive her enough to try for a second chance at happiness?

Review: The Winner's Curse was a very interesting book, but I'm a little conflicted with the love story I'm supposed to be behind. I loved Kestrel and pretty much everything about her. I thought she was a great, empowered lead - except where it concerned Arin. I never liked him. I understand he did what he had to do to free his people, but I never liked his character. I also didn't understand the romance between him and Kestrel; they didn't really have that much contact with each other. The descriptions and prose in this book were beautiful and I am interested to see what Kestrel's choice at the end of the book brings, but I could do with less Arin in the next. Will definitely be reading the rest of this trilogy though.

Review
This was a really quick, enjoyable read. The reason I'm giving it 3.5 stars rather than 4 is that there were parts that fell a little flat and made the story lose its fast pace. Other than that, I really have nothing negative to say. I loved Beezle, the popcorn loving gargoyle, and hope he continues to have a big presence in the other books. Looking forward to reading book 2!

They always seem to come around so quickly!
Steph Ann - I've had black wings in my TBR pile for soooo long! I must get to it.
