I knew it :D Bet you have lots of crazy er stories. I've worked my entire career in a nursing facility. That was not the plan when I started out but totally fell in love with it. I've been the Medicare Reimbursement RN for the last several yrs. M-F, weekends off, no holidays. Works great with kids and hubby's schedule.

1st in series, book 10 of series or stand alone - alternate: 2010

Finished: 11/2/14

The are a great quick read. Lots of action, adventure and a touch of history with a strong heroine thrown in. This one sees Annja leaving on the hunt for Gengis Khan's final resting place. Can she decrypt the code, avoid the bad guy and survive the locals? A nice twist on the ending too.

Has anyone heard from TheButterflyEffect? I hope her book is going okay.
Hi sorry My weeks been a bit hectic but I've started Unwind. My review will be up tonight.

Week 1
First Roll: 5-5 (10)
First in the series, tenth in the series, or a standalone
Alternate: 2010
-First in the Unwind Dystology
Finished: 13/2/14
Rating: 5/5

This book was absolutely amazing. I'm honestly still trying to get over all the emotions I felt while reading it. The characters were amazing, the plot was amazing, the writing was amazing, everything was just absolutely amazing. This is dystopian at it's very peak. It really and truly was deserving of the hype it got.

Ok - I have a couple of different ways I can go with our roll. I have to wait for Scavenger Hunt and my RRRC team challenge theme to be announced. I will make my final pick and post later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Choices at this point are:

We'll see what I finally go with....

Love the pick, Belinda. Granuaile gets a lot of time in that one.
Melissa, I think you have to take the total role when choosing books. Since Belinda rolled a total of 6, this week's books have to #6 in the series or the alternate for the space which is "2003." I don't think you can read a #1 in the series this week unless it was published in 2003. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Jenne.
I'm still debating my book but will have it picked by the end of the day!

copied and pasted from Jenne's original rules post for SS -
For double digit numbers, for example you land on spot 48 you can read either a #4 or a #8 in a series.

I need to read and review that sometime soon as well, Christal. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it!
For this week, I'm going to be reading

That's good to hear! I really enjoyed Aguirre's Sirantha Jax series, so I'm looking forward to starting another series of hers!

Week 2
New roll = 1 & 5
Moving from space 10 to space 16
Series book #1 or #6

Have a great week if I'm unable to check in for a while. Will try one way or another to have my review posted by Thurs. Even if I have to find a Barnes & Noble out there, lol

No, Christal ... it is NOT what you roll ... it is what SPOT you land on. Since you were on spot 10 in week one and rolled a 6 you are now on SPOT # 16 - so you read # 1 in series, # 6 in series, # 16 in series, a stand-along (substitute for #1), or the alternate for spot # 16.

Melissa already cleared that up, but thanks. :)

Week 2
Roll: 1-5
Move from 10 to space 16
Read: A Beautiful Mess by T.K. Leigh
(book 1 in the Beautiful mess series)
Finished 2/16/2014

I've been seeing a lot of blogs posting about the release of book 2 in the series, so I thought it was a great time to finally read book 1, A Beautiful Mess, and get it off my TBR. I finally get what all the buzz is about Alexander Burnham!!! If I found myself in the same dangerous situation as Olivia, I'd love for my rescuer to be someone as hot and alluring as Alexander! I love that it wasn't just a steamy love story though, there was danger, and suspense and lots of angst mixed in with all the hotness!! I wasn't thrilled that there was a cliffhanger at the end, but with book 2 already being released, it was just a matter of me downloading that one and continuing on with Olivia's story! Ah, now to have to wait for book #3 to come out!

Roll: 1-5
Move from 10 to space 16
Read:Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley
Book 1 of Shifters Unbound
Finished 2/16/14
Rating:4stars
Sorry I can't post the book on my iPad.
Review: sorry this is short and sweet. I really enjoyed this book one of this series. Some things worked well. Some things did not work well for me. Interesting concept for shifters. Kim Fraser has a shifter client she is attempting to defend. She has to go into Shiftertown to meet Liam Morrissey. He is to give away no information and send her on her way. All bets are off once he meets her and his protective, alpha nature comes out to play. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Roll: 1-5

I'm a big fan of Ann Aguirre's Sirantha Jax series, so I figured it was time I tried one of her other series. Boy, am I glad I did! This book had my attention pretty much from the first page. It moved very quickly and ended in a way that had me anxious to start book 2. Definitely looking forward to the next one!

Finished: 20/2/14

The start was a little slow with all the running and hiding but the ending! Wow! I couldn't put it down! There was, as always, tears, snorted laughter and reading of lines out loud to my husband. I seriously can't wait for the next one!!! Exciting times ahead for atticus & Oberon!

Review: I am always on the lookout for great new Urban Fantasy series and Night Owls just might fit the bill. The story started out a little rough around the edges and had some growing pains, but I was completely on board by the end. I really enjoyed the dynamic between the group of main characters and think a lot of fascinating stories could come out of this world. Read more...

:0) Thanks! Can't wait to see what number we land on next so I can start planning my weekend read!

Will update later today - on my way to work
Week 2
Roll: 1-5 (16)
First in the series, sixth in the series, sixteenth in the seres or a standalone
Alternate: 2003
-First in the Under the Never Sky trilogy
Finished: 20/2/14
Rating: 4/5

This book definitely exceeded my expectations since I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. There were two POV characters, Perry and Aria and both were very interesting sympathetic characters. It's a dystopian (which if I can read a dystopian for next week I'll have a theme), but the world was very interesting and different. It didn't feel at all like a Hunger Games rip off.

Maybe next week I won't wait for the very last possible minute to get it done. Here's hoping!

Damn! I was hoping for 11 (to land on space 27) so I could read the new cat & bones (book 7) which finally arrived in the mail yesterday :(
Will decide what to read later tonight

Review: Another great book by Patricia Briggs. She has a way of making you love her characters. Charles and Anna are sent to Seattle by Bran to meet all the Alpha/Packs of Europe to discuss/negotiate coming out to humans. Things don't always go as planned especially when you have a Fae involved. Interesting how Anna keeps being underestimated. Can't wait for book 3.

I enjoyed this next in The Alexanders series. You'd definitely want to read book #1 first to know a little bit about Raina and Nick because this one just jumped head over teakettle into the reasoning for the new status of their relationship.
I didn't really like Raina too much in the first book - we never got enough of her story to understand why she acted the way she did, so it was nice to get to hear her story so I could begin to understand and like her.
So far the only part of the series that seems bit out of place is the random bits here and there about Raina and her sister being bi-racial. It honestly wouldn't have changed the story in any way if that tidbit was never revealed or if it wasn't even a factor.
Book 3 is on my TBR and I look forward to continuing on the series.
