I'm doing a little segment on the 18th century right now, so my next few books are Pamela: Or Virtue Rewarded by Samuel Richardson; The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling by Fielding; and The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman by Laurence Sterne. I know basically nothing about any of these books, so I'm kinda excited. Hope they don't suck?

I'm about to start Agaat, a novel by Marlene Van Niekerk. Set in South Africa, it is one of those dynastic books where a woman looks back on her life and the events & people that shaped it.

It's 576 pages - so I'm looking for a chaser book (to read when I need to put this one down). Short stories might be nice. Maybe Kazuo Ishiguro's Nocturnes.
