Today my dad offered me "Chasing fireflies", by Charles Martin and "Skylight Confessions", by Alice Hoffman. I'm looking forward to read them!

I literally just started The Help, which came in for me this week from my library queue. I also picked up And Then There Were None, my all-time favorite Agatha Christie (or it was 20 years ago!), but I need to read The Help first, as I won't be able to renew it.

:DDD
The next two books on my list once I finish with Franklin's City of Shadows are:- David Anthony Durham's Acacia (which I've been reading on and off lately)
- Elizabeth Gaskell's Wives and Daughters
I also plan to do a bit of re-reading so I have Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Bronte's Jane Eyre sitting in mind as well =)
Up next for me is either Angels & Demons or Coffee And Kung Fu.On audio, it will be The Masque of the Black Tulip.

Tears of the Moon by Nora Roberts
Untamed by Pamela Clare

The Titan's Curse was great. If you've read the other Percy Jackson novels before it, you will definitely enjoy this one too.
Still working on Anna Karenina.. it is very slow going. Next I have The Red Tent, Elizabeth I, and Vanity Fair. Although I am looking foward to getting involved in August's book club read as well.
Hey Robin, you got a heavy reading list going on!I read Anna Karenina and enjoyed it, but I read it over the summer a few years back.
The August book club read - me too. I may just wait until Monday to start something new once the polls are offficially closed.
Rita wrote: "I usually have to follow a heavy read with something light hearted"Me also. Maybe even catch up on some magazines for a day or so.

Snow Falling on Cedars- by David Guterson

I am reading Outlander and I don't know if I will read the next book on the serie next. It all depends. If it keeps dragging and dragging on the same things, I will probably give it a break and go to the club August's selections.

I thought White Oleander was great. Much better than the movie. Not that the movie was bad, but the book had a lot more details and backstories
Thanks Amy and Liz! I already finished The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox... kind of disappointed. I just started on The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette A Novel and am loving it already! Thinking of tackling Miserynext!
I'm either going to start reading Ink Heart or the Thirteenth Tale. I don't know if I want to read the mystery-ish book or if I want to turn into a kid again and read the fantasy book...I've still got plenty of time thought! I haven't even made a dint in The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie

I've been on a mystery kick lately. Then it's The Time Traveler's Wife.
i've got pride & prejudice lined up to be read next. i'm considering trying to read the shack again after that. the first time around, i got about 30ish pages in & had to put it down.
I'm just starting The Family Nobody Wanted, and Frankenstein. After that I'm going to read Carpe Demon which appears to be Buffy meets soccer mom? wierd :)Lauren, you should read Marked, and then tell me if its any good. I got a free copy from work and I'm curious!

Yeah I think I might have to flip a coin to see which one I am going to read next...I've got plenty of time to decide though...I've still got something like three hundred pages to go on my current book!

I read the first two, and took a break. My 10 yr old read lightning thief but not interested in the series : (
Change of plan: before Linna's The Unknown Soldier, I'll be reading McCarthy's The Road, Larsson's The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest and Orwell's 1984.
I am going to start Dr. Zhivago with some of my goodreads friends after my Great Tooth Pulling Ordeal tomorrow, and then I want to start in on the Time Travelers Wife since it won!!
I hear you . I had a session with the dentist...Still not finished ugh. Maybe I will re-read Dr zhivago. It has been many years since I last read it.
Jo wrote: "Ive got the road but havent got round to reading it yet "I've heard many good things about it and some opinions to the contrary. So far, maybe a little longwinded but the language and the descriptions (even in translation) are beautiful.
I'm still finishing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and I have Girl with the Dragon Tattoo checked out, and the Book Thief checked out, so I need to do them next. If people would quit recommending so many books, maybe I could work on my TBR pile! (ha ha!) So many books, not enough lifetimes!
The language is pretty much the same as the original, and the zombies are woven through it. It's pretty funny hearing them discuss fighting zombies and training in martial arts as if it is part of everyday Victorian life!Fi - Yes, I would! I've read a wider variety of books since joining all of you!

I'm going to read Lupa's Fang and Fur, Blood and Bone A Primal Guide to Animal Magic soon. I've been meaning to for a LONG time and I hope to get the chance soon, I just need to stop reading about Satan for a day or two.
Gerald's game is mind-trippy. If I remember correctly, this book made it very difficult for me to sleep at night without a little light on somewhere...
during AND after having read it.

lol, I have the same illness. Never enough time for the ever growing reading pile.
Lori,I know! I am trying to be brave! I had all the lights on in the house last night waiting for my boyfriend to get home (yes... I was at home reading on a Saturday night... don't judge- haha) But I was still reading of course, even though I was scared out of my mind! I just finished Misery by Stephen King and moved on to this... I think my next read should be not quite so torture-y! Ha!
