When I finish WiW, I have the following books lined up to read. They are all from the library and have due dates, so......1. Fatelessness by Imre Kertész;
2. The Space Between Us A Novel by Thrity Umrigar;
3. The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly;
4. The Girls by Lori Lansens;
5. Olive Kitteridge A Novel in Stories by Elizabeth Strout;
6. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz
Karen, I have read Book of Lost Things and Brief Wonderous Life... both are very good books! I hope you enjoy them!
So Many are Next:The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
When the Morning Comes by Cindy Woodsmall
Crossing Over One Woman's Escape from Amish Life by Ruth Irene Garrett
I also loved The Thirteenth Tale and Book of Lost Things!! I wish I would have read slower on both books but I just couldn't!! Savor them if you can!
Starting Stephen King's The Stand now! Excited about this one for some reason! Not sure what I will read next! I keep changing my mind! Maybe The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins!

Karen, [book:The Girls|47076] is one of my favorite books. I highly recommend it.
After i finish Chopper i think i will either go onto:
Marked by PC Cast or
Blood Sucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
Marked by PC Cast or
Blood Sucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
Next book on my list will likely be Daniel Silva's The Confessor unless I feel like reading fantasy and thus turn to Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule =)

Be careful starting Marked because those books are addictive. I had to go out and buy them all and devour them. Have you read You Suck A Love Story by Christoper Moore? It's kind of a sequel to Blood Sucking Fiends but I read them out of order. Both are really good, but You Suck is hysterical.
Lauren wrote: "Reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! May read The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner next!"in the last couple of days, i've heard a lot of good things about The Red Necklace... it's on my amazon wishlist. i hope you like it!
i think my next book (once i finish the 5 or 6 i am reading concurrently) will be Life As We Knew It. i am in the mood for some nice YA lit.
Just starting The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner! Next up will probably be... Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides!

I figured that the Marked series would be addictive so i decided to start on something else.
No i haven't read You Suck by Christopher Moore yet though i think eventually i will read all of his books. I've only read a Dirty Job so far but absolutely loved it so i don't think after i finish (and start for that matter) Blood Sucking Fiends it will be too long beforfe i pick up another one of his.

I'm debating at the moment what book to read next...there's Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice that I can re-read but I also got Irene Nemirovsky's All Our Worldly Goods today in the mail that I could start reading. There's also Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule that I could start reading but it's not high on my list because it's over 800+ pages long and considering the amount of research I have this semester, it might not be such a great idea...
Hoping to start wolf Hall next but my book club needs me to read a book about a body part so I might have to fit in the heart of the matter by Graham Green before that one..
Just finished The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland and loved it. The next few coming up are:The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
Uglies
The Black Tower
After I finish the book I'm currently reading, I'll have reached my 100th book this year which was my goal. So now I plan to pick up some of the fatter tomes on my shelves. Probably The Historian or The Pillars of the Earth.
The Pillars of the Earth is one of the best books I have read. In fact I read it twice, in the 1980's and then again this year.
I just finished City of Thieves by David Benioff which I gave 5 stars. I was going to start The Thirteenth Tale, but I just remembered I loaned that one out, so I sat down and wrote down the next 10 books on my list. I have made myself a promise that no more books will enter this house until I at least finish my top 10 TBR:1) Skeletons at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian
2) Shuttler Island - Dennis Lehane
3) Something Missing - Matthew Dicks
4) The 13th Tale - Diane Setterfield
5) The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood
6) Best Friends Forever - Jennifer Weiner
7) The Angel's Game - Carlos Zafon
8) Last Night in Montreal - Emily St. John Mandel
9) Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
10) Firefly Lane - Kristin Hannah

Thanks Michelle - that sounds like the perfect place for me!!
Well I said I was going to read Comfort Food, but instead I ended up reading Slow Dollar and have moved right on the High Country Fall So I will probably read Rituals of the Season next and that will finish up the Margaret Maron books I have out of the library. Then Comfort Food.
Toss up at the moment between Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule and Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 1-4, even though I am reading two other books at the moment, hehehe xD
I recommend the book that educators across the U.S. are reading because President Obama's next problem after health care is education... so get yourself ready the spitfire arguments... read, "The Silent Crisis Destroying America's Brightest Minds by Sharon Rose Sugar.
Amy, welcome to the group. I see that you are new here, and may not realise that you are posting incorrectly. I noticed that you recommended a book in the "Promote your stuff here" thread, as well as here.
These are not recommendation threads. Are there books that you are planning to read next? This thread is for people to list the books that they plan to read ....

I think I will soon be reading:Mr. Vertigo -- Paul Auster
Friends and Lovers -- Eric Jerome Dickey
Songs for the Missing -- Stewart O'Nan
I was in the bookstore to buy World without End by Ken Follett when I totally fell in love with just the cover and summary and idea of the novel "Certain Girls" by Jennifer Weiner and I thought I just had to have it so I needed to choose which to buy because I onlyhave money to afford one but both of their prices fit my budget. I couldn't let go of Certain girls so I have it.Now, I nearly finish reading almost a crime by penny vincenzi because i need to for I really am looking forward to reading certain girls.
That's what's next in my list.
Certain Girls and After the kiss by Joan Johnson.
After Courage of Fear my next 5 Should be as follows: 2- The Kind One - Epperson
3- Pretties - Westerfeld
4- Shiver - Stiefvater
5- The Year of the Fog - Richmond
I have rediscovered the joys of audiobooks. Listening to The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier at this very moment. (Great narration by Frank Muller.) Also borrowed John Lennon: The Life by Philip Norman on audio from the library.I'm going to get through a lot more books this way. :)
Right now I'm reading Splendorby Anna Godbersen, I'm enjoying the series a lot more then I expected to, depending on when I finish, it'll be either Shadowland or The Weight of Silence next. After these two i have to find a way to pick between The Angel's Game, Prophecy of the Sisters, or my first time reading Pride and Prejudice. All are preety different from eachother so it depends on what I feel like reading at the time. =)
When I've finished with Penelope Lively's Consequences I'm starting the graphic novel Waltz with Bashir with Charlaine Harris' Dead until Dark to lighten things up
I've been slacking off lately. Whenever I snap out of it and finish Death with Interruptions, I'll move on to Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, Vonnegut's Mother Night, or The Road by Cormac McCarthy...maybe. I've been quickly adding to my "to be consumed" stack, so there's a lot to choose from.
When I finish Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore I plan to read Angle of Repose by Wallance Stenger. But I might fit in an Anita Blake book first.
When I finish "The City of Golden Shadow" by Tad Williams, I plan to start on "Sarum" by Edward Rutherford for an AP Euro and English project, and probably have "Blue Bloods" by Melissa de la Cruz
Starting Blood Sucking Fiends tonight then i think i'll be onto either The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest or My Brothers Keeper. Not sure yet.
Most likely going to read either, 'manhood for amateurs' by Michael Chabon, or 'I Captured the Castle' by Dodie Smith, or for door number three "David Copperfield" by Dickens.
Once I finish Forster's Where Angels Fear to Tread, I'll either read Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere A Novel or Jill Mansell's Rumour Has it for a change of pace =)
Christy wrote: "or I might read Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. I'm kind of undecided!"i just heard that Shutter Island is being released as a movie in 2010 - stars Dicapro.
i just got Mudbound from the library. haven't read a word yet, but it has gotten some good reviews, so i am keen to start it.
