Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19219 comments Welcome Wolkenlos!

Really looking forward to your reads. The Beth Revis books sound interesting

message 7: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments Thanks Rusalka! I would not recommend the Across the Universe trilogy for adults though. I thought those were really more fitted towards teenagers. But everyone is different :D They get very good reviews.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19219 comments I sometimes get a YA/Kids book hankering, so I'll keep an eye out though. Look forward to see what you think of the series :)

And The Knife of Never Letting Go has been on my radar for ages!

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments Welcome to YLTO and to our chunkster challenge, Wolkenlos!

message 10: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3266 comments Welcome Wolkenlos! Your list has all new ( to me) books which makes it extra fun. Have fun with this challenge.

message 11: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Welcome! I added the first book of the Beth Revis trilogy as well as The Knife of Never Letting Go to my TBR list. Thanks. They both sound very interesting and are new authors for me.

Since you have the 2nd G.R.R.Martin book on your list, I assume you already read the first one. I have finished all 5 and am W-A-I-T-I-N-G with the rest of the world for the next one. :)

message 12: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments Yes Cherie, I already read the first one last year, and I'm two thirds into the second, but I still find it so hard to differentiate between alot of the characters. I guess I'm just not that much of a fan of the books than most people. But I'm excited for the third book because everybody raves about that one so much :D

message 13: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments I started listening to A Game of Thrones but got lost with all the characters. I still want to read it though.

The Knife of Never Letting Go looks good, too. I'll be interested in your thoughts on it.

message 14: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments I thought the Knife of Never Letting Go was a nice YA book! Really fast paced, with a unique storyline and lovable characters. But it's got a huge cliffhanger at the end of the book so only read it if you are committed to read all 3 books of the series :)

message 15: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Yes, I thought the 3rd GoT was great. The characters get easier to remember as you go because you go back to them a lot. Some more than you want to and others, not enough. Always a new surprise when you least expect it. Some real shockers too!

message 16: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments You have some great books listed! I recently read The Ocean at the End of the Lane and it was really good. And I love The Game of Thrones books. The author Patrick Ness keeps popping up recently but I am yet to read any of his books - I have The Crane Wife on my audio TBR and The Knife of Never Letting Go is on my wishlist but I'm having a break from YA for a moment.

message 17: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments I updated the first pages :) Nearly finished with the challenge! What an accomplishment! A few books I'm currently reading on there, but I get to them!

message 18: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments Have you finished sections, Franzi? If so, you need to report them in the "I'm finished a section so GIVE ME A BADGE". (You'll find the thread in the top of this folder.

I noticed that there are a couple of books crossed off. I'm not sure if that designates that you've read them. Just a reminder that the sections must be read in order. You can read the books in each section out of order, but you can't jump ahead to books in other sections until the prior sections are complete.

message 19: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments Looking at the crossed out books again - have you crossed them off because you've decided not to read them?

message 20: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments The crossed out books are the books I started but haven't finished (stopped completely), so they don't count into the sections. They are just there so that I keep track of what I read.

So I finished the first three sections and nearly finished with the fourth, but not quite :) I think I'll report to get my badges after the fourth section.

message 21: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments I went ahead and posted your first three badges. It's easier for me if you report after each section.

Here's your wall! https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 22: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments Oh, ok! Thank you very much for the work you put into this, Janice :)

message 23: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments No problem. Great job on finishing 3 sections. :)

message 24: by Franzi (new)

Franzi (abookparty) | 14 comments I'm finished :)) What a great reading year!

message 25: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60025 comments Congrats, Franzi!
