4.5 stars. If you put The Time Traveler's Wife, The Lake House, and The Butterfly Effect into a blender with an extra helping of sweetness, you'd come out with something similar to Time Between Us.

If only we were separated by this distance. But we're not. We're separated by this distance plus seventeen years.

Funny thing is, I wasn't a huge fan of Time Traveler's Wife, yet I still loved Time Between Us. It was just what I'd been looking for in YA/NA contemporaries ever since reading Anna and the French Kiss, but hadn't been able to find. Maybe there was nothing extra-special about the writing or the story, but the simplicity is most likely what appealed to me the most. There were no love triangles, no extra helpings of cheese, no simpering heroines, no annoying tendencies. This was a love story in its purest form, and I fell hard for the telling of it.

I was able to overlook a pretentious name like Bennett Cooper (the names by themselves are fine, but together it looks douchey), or to even skip right over a mention of a borrowed pencil feeling like a connection worth mentioning. The reason why is because the silly little things were simply that - little details which didn't detract from the greater story.

All of my time spent reading this particular story felt like time worth investing. As I got closer to the end, my nervousness grew to a point where I didn't know how I would be able to handle if these two sweet people were not able to be together.

Testing fate, toying with it, may not have any obvious impact at first, but eventually something has to backfire.

It's not often that a love story comes along and manages to get me as invested as this one did. I loved every moment of this journey and am looking forward to book 2, even though I think this book ended at a good point.

If you're looking for a love story which is so beautifully handled, with less silly/manufactured angst, and two characters who feel as if they could be genuine, then you'll want to give Time Between Us a go.

This book received SO many raving reviews, and I feel like I'm the odd one out. But to sum it all up, I just didn't get it. I think this book had a lot of potential, but there were just too many holes and inconsistencies.

Out of all the young adult time travel books I have read, I think this book impressed me the least. And you know that a book is unmemorable when you sit down to write a review a few days later, and you have already forgotten a lot of what you have read.

Since I'm not sure how much I can explain without making the whole review spoiler-free, I'm just going to hide the rest of it.

I'm not sure how I feel about Stone's concept of writing the time travel range to be within Bennett's life span. On one hand, it’s more realistic, well, as real as time travel can be. But on the other hand, it kind of defeats the whole wonder of the concept because history can be so interesting. So since we can’t live in history, we have to rely on the story that is taking place.

To me, the storyline was just meh. Neither Anna nor Bennett were really exceptional. They were kind of bland, and the romance wasn’t one of those that just totally sucked me in. On a side note, neither one had great relationships with family or best friends that made the side stories interesting. I can see how Stone attempted to show us the consequences of changes, but those side stories just made me dislike Anna for how selfish and bratty she can be.

So going back to the story, there were so many holes in book that I just don’t see how everything added up. What’s so special about Bennett, and why does he time travel (obviously NOT hereditary)? I don’t understand what happened to his sister. How did he “lose” her and how is he supposed to “wait” for her? Also, what were the consequences of Bennett helping his father?

And the biggest question of all… Okay, so Bennett is actually 17 in 2012, and he is a baby in Anna’s time period. So I’m guessing he disappears from 2012 when he time travels? Okay, so there are two parallels? So the big question is, at one point, there is ANOTHER Bennett that shows up. So I’m guessing there is Baby Bennett, the Bennett Anna is in love with and the future Bennett all in one time period? So does that mean there is yet ANOTHER parallel universe? How many are there?

And I see NO way that Anna and Bennett can live happily ever after. Like I said, I’m still not sure if Bennett disappears from his time period or not. So he comes back. Yes, they solve the whole Anna taking her trip situation. But what about future events? There are no consequences from this time? How in the world is he supposed to stay with her?

Books like “The Mediator” by Jenny Carroll/Meg Cabot (yes, it was cliché, but it was cute) and “The Clearing” by Heather Davis (I was actually moved by this one) made an impression on me. And I’ve never read “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” but I’ve watched the movie.

With this book, the basic story was too bland, and the overall concept made no sense for me to enjoy it.

LOOK!! A 5 STAR! LOOK IT'S BEAUTIFUL REALLY UGGHHH PURE FEELS RIGHT HERE



Where do I even start???! I just LOVE this book so much. I miss this kind of feeling towards a book. When you love it so much you can't help but gush and gush about it. That's what I'm about to do right now. So please, be ready for that.

So. Time Between Us is a love story. A time travel love story. I don't really have a good record on time traveling books, I think the last book I've read with the same plot line is The Here and Now and uhhh, I didn't like it. At all. So I'm not really expecting anything in here. But it surprised me. And now I'm head over heels. From the Prologue, I know that I'm going to like it already. I just know. I was invested instantly. It's the kind of Prologue that will not let you close the book up until you're halfway through or you're done. The writing is captivating. The characters are (thank the bookgods) easy to relate to with realistic voices. No one is annoying. No one got on my nerves. Everything flows easily and it's not hard to get lost inside Anna's head. (She's our narrator)

Okay so, Anna lives in 1995 (trivia that you're probably not interested in but I'll say it anyway: I was born that year. HAHA) Okay, so Anna is running in her usual route at 1995 when someone caught her eye. A guy that is sitting in a bench is looking at her oddly.. like he already knew her. And that bugged Anna. So when the guy showed up in her school and introduced himself as Bennett, Anna knew that this guy is hiding something and that somehow, she can't stay away from him. She's actually interested about everything about him.

You know, it's not a secret that I'm very picky about MC's. They affect my reading a lot and sometimes even though the plot is great, but the MC is downright annoying?! I'll just DNF it. But Anna is so darn likeable. She's so sweet and genuine and very.. lovable. Like, it's really hard not to be mesmerized by her. Bennett on the on the other hand is not that different. He's so... asdfghklrhfuhfubye. I cannot even describe it.

I just know that, GIRLS, THIS IS THE KIND OF GUYS YOU SHOULD BE SWOONING OVER.

Now, the plot. I don't know if it's just me but I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to genres like these:  fantasy, paranormal and especially, SciFi, which is the genre of this book. When I learned that Bennett is the one who can travel through time, I already want an explanation..Like, how?? How can he do that exactly? Is he some experiment from a lab? Is he some math genius who studied time stuff? WHAT. Good thing, our main character isn't some dense dimwit and she knows how to ask the right questions. But I was really disappointed when I got some answers. Yeah, maybe that's my super little problem with the book. I just want some explanations, you know? But my love is over powering my doubts so...

Overall, Time Between Us is a gorgeous read. Some may call it simple or not extravagant but  it made me smile, made me believe in the power of love and made my heart light and singing (pure gushing, I warned you). Everything is wonderful and stunning, pure and striking. Time Between Us is not a book to be overlooked, make a time for it!

One of the most gorgeous romances I've read in 2012.

Summary: Anna is a 16-year old living in Evanston, Illinois in 1996. Bennett is a 16-year old time-traveler who exists in San Francisco in 2012. At the beginning of the novel, a woman (whom we can easily presume is 32-year old Anna) goes to Bennett in San Francisco and gives him a letter. As you can already tell, this is a love that will be fraught with problems.

Anna and Bennett meet for the first time in 1996 when she sees him appear and disappear on a track (Anna's a runner). He tries to stay away from her, but he can't. It doesn't help that he knows that she must be the Anna from the letter, or that he's not actually there to meet her.

Review: For the first hundred pages of Time Between Us, I kept thinking, "Oh, this just seems like the YA version of Time Traveler's Wife." It started out pretty slow for me, and I didn't feel like I connected with Anna, who seemed very ordinary compared to her fun, sassy English friend Emma or her music-loving buddy-who-wants-to-be-more Justin.

But then Bennett shows up, and Anna starts interacting with him, and yes, time-traveling with him and falling in love with him, and I realized that maybe that was the whole point. Anna *is* normal, but she's also adventurous and loyal and rash and beautiful. She's not the most popular or out there girl - but she's strong and independent and pretty awesome.

In my opinion, an excellent time travel book that didn't have me confused with the "when" in the story. There wasn't a time stamp before each chapter started, there weren't 473957292 versions of the main characters floating around.

There was an amazingly swoony boy and the girl he absolutely adores. And it was phenomenal.

Also? Dibs on Bennett. :D

If you are an avid reader you know that there are some books that call for you. Books that you see on the selves of some library or someplace on the Internet and they try to seduce you, they creep into your mind and you feel compelled to get them.

I felt the same about this book. I saw the beautiful cover and I knew that I had to have this book, I read the description and I knew that I needed to read it.

To be completely honest, I had 2 previous attempts to start it before I finally read it from cover to cover.In the beginning I simply didn’t get into it the way I wanted, but the book kept calling until I picked it up again a few days ago and I enjoyed it just the way I hoped.

That’s the reason I had to take down a star and a half, because when I stop reading a book something is missing, and when something is missing I need a whole lot of awesomeness to make up for it. And if you like to know, the second half of the book is pretty great – after all I read the second book right after finishing this one.

The Bad:
I don’t usually start this way, I like to tell first what I love about a book, but in this case it is needed – I want to explain why I felt the need to take a break from this story before finally reading it in full.

Think.. Well, think ‘new guy’ and ‘average girl’… The girl feeling attracted to the guy, him keeping his distance even though showing bits of interest. Then the boy saving the girl and, at first, not wanting to explain it, because the situation is a bit out of the ordinary. You see where I am getting with this, right? To the sunset and beyond, if you get my point.

So my problem was that the beginning felt a bit (well, maybe quite a lot) cliché. And when I noticed that some things were repetitive (as seen in various other stories) I said: well, this is not a book for me. I put it down and waited for a better moment to read it.
And it came.

Because the thing is that it gets better, maybe the author didn’t chose the best (or the most original) way to introduce us to the story, but what she had to say was worth trying to ignore all those bells ringing in my head.

The Good:



This is a love story. A story about two young people that were never meant to meet, but they did, they managed to bend the rules of universe and fall in love against all odds. They both reached (one for the other) through time and they made their story possible.

This is a time travel story. One about a young boy that wandered through time and finally found a place where he would like to stay forever, a place that didn’t want him back, but a place where he lost his heart and where he would do everything in his power to come back to.

This is a self-discovery story. One about knowing your limits, and pushing them for the ones you love. One about growing up and being responsible for your actions. One about changing your destiny all over again. One about making choices, about not giving up hope, about fighting for what’s important to you and you only. One about learning to love and learning that love might not always be enough. One about opening your mind to what seems impossible and opening yourself to the world.

The Characters:

What I liked the most about this story is that it not only focuses on the main two characters, but their interaction with other characters as well. And I loved to see how their actions had a great impact on those said characters.

You see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ of various sides of the story. And I can’t say much about it right now, but this is what I like to read in a time-travel story: how things are, how they can be changed and the result of this action (even though sometimes it might be subtle). Sometimes you win some, but you also lose some in return, the question remains.. is it really worth it?

The Conclusion:

3.5 stars. Even though we had a bumpy start, this story won me over.
The concept behind it is great, the characters really sweet, there’s quite a bit of action going on and it leaves you with the need to know what comes next.Luckily, I did also receive an ARC of “Time after Time”, the new book in the series (from Benett’s point of view) that sends us forward into the story.

Have you ever read a book that filled something inside you that you didn't even know was empty, opened your eyes to aspects of your own life that needed reexamining? Have you ever sat for long moments after finishing a book, letting the emotions it brought to your surface swell inside you until they crash over you, like a wave? Have you ever missed the characters you were reading about, because they meant so much to you? If so, then you know what my experience reading Time Between Us was like.


I knew I had to read this one from the first synopsis on Goodreads: "about a girl who meets a boy who can hold her hands and take her anywhere." Then came the gorgeous cover, which I was in love with...and THEN, finally, the moment when I started Tamara Ireland Stone's novel, and was at once completely and totally invested in Anna and Bennett's story. Although the story is only told from Anna's point of view, both she and Bennett are such amazingly beautiful characters - each flawed in their own ways, yet also incredible identifiable and relatable. There was never a moment when I didn't feel like I KNEW Bennett and Anna. While I was reading their story, they were as real to me as people I pass on the street. Watching them interact, every minute between them pulsed with a heartbeat, with meaning, with love and longing and loss, and it was just fantastic.

I've read several time travel novels (and I'm definitely the biggest Doctor Who fan - I - know) so it's safe to say that I adore all things time travel. But Stone puts a new spin on what we think we know, and I really enjoyed Bennett's explanations of what he can - andn can't - do, as well as watching Anna try to piece it all together. I felt like I was in Anna's head, figuring it out along with her. The pacing of Time Between Us was so balanced, between revelations and slower moments with Anna and her family or friends, or Bennett. Stone gave those various relationships time to develop sweetly, and it led to fuller characters, and a sense of belonging on my part, as a reader. I felt like I was being given a glimpse into Anna's world, and I cherished that.

I read Time Between Us in a matter of hours, at once wanting - needing - to know what happened next, yet also wanting to savor each word. The characters were all real, as mentioned, and I loved watching Anna interact with those around her. I can't even really put into words my love for Anna and Bennett. From their auspicious beginning, which is beautifully explained later, to Stone laying the foundations for their friendship, and ultimately the deep sense of caring between them, I was falling for their relationship just as much as they were for one another. Anna and Bennett are an extremely poignant example of a first, sweet love where two people are good for one another, though not without their failings. My heart broke for each of them, separate and together, more than once, especially at the threat of time keeping them apart.

What I liked best about Tamara Ireland Stone's magnificent debut novel was the character growth. I'm a HUGE fan of characters who grow and change over the course of a novel, and both Bennett and Anna certainly did that. I cried more than once for and with Anna as she struggled to see what was right in front of her, and to learn to be truly brave, and my heart went out to Bennett, too. In the end, they both became incredibly strong people, and as I closed the last page of Time Between Us, I had tears drying on my cheeks, cherishing their love and their decisions and their courage.

I won't soon forget Time Between Us, or the lasting impression Anna and Bennett's story made on me. It's been about two weeks (at the time I'm writing this review in August) since I finished it, and I'm still wondering what Bennett and Anna will be up to next. Stone's debut novel is a truly beautiful one, filled with heart-wrenching moments, and yet also, there is hope scrawled indelibly across the pages, too.

10/2012 Review

Okay here is my dilemma. I wanted to LOVE this book, I love the idea of time traveling and falling in love with someone from the future (or the past for Bennett’s case), and being with someone who you weren’t suppose to even know let alone fall in love with. My problem is I only liked it… that shouldn’t be a problem to like a book, right? But it is…

I couldn’t put this book down; I read it in two days and even stayed up till 3 am to finish reading the book. I couldn’t wait to find out what happens next and I really couldn’t wait to find out how it ends. I loved the characters, loved Anna’s best friend Emma and the entire storyline. I knew they would end up together (as all YA books end) but was dying to know how it would work out since Anna lives in 1995 and Bennett lives in 2012. But that is where the problem lies, it just ended and they lived happily ever after not explaining at all how. How did he make it back? How will he be able to stay? What about the real him in 2012? How did the 30 year-old Anna find the 17 year-old in San Francisco in 2012 in the beginning of the book? No answers were given. Maybe I was expecting too much from a YA novel but I just think there are too many questions left without answers. There is so much more of a story to tell and I think that Tamara Ireland Stone has way more writing material to give to us then let this story and the characters go. Because I loved the characters, I loved the story, I love the idea but I just didn’t like how it ended leaving so much opened. I felt like a relationship ended and I didn’t get the closure I needed. Does that make sense?

Like I said, there is so much more on this story I am dying to find out, like what about Anna’s best friends Emma & Justin? What about Bennett’s family and the real Anna in 2012, who is now in her early 30’s while Bennett is 17… I am dying to know more about Bennett’s sister Brooke (which is why he went back to 1995 after all) and his family… they were mentioned but that is it. And of course his Grandma... I want to know more about her too.

Like I have said, I liked the book A LOT… 90% of the book was amazing but the ending felt like a bad breakup with no answers to why I was getting dumped when I thought we had the perfect relationship. I think I would give this review a higher rating if I knew there was a book two with this storyline and characters, as of now there is not so I will stay broken hearted with all my unknowns.

I give Time Between Us 3 Stars. I just need MORE and I am left with to many questions without answers to give it more of a higher rating even though I want it to be a 5 star book.

So here I beg Ms. Ireland-Stone PLEASE give me more! PLEASE bring back Bennett and Anna, PLEASE writing a book two and let me have my happy ending, PLEASE fix my broken heart!

I am a sucker for anything time travel related. Because of this, I had a feeling I would love this book. AND I DID! !

I loved Anna and Bennett. The prologue completely hooked me. While reading and enjoying the story unfold, I was constantly trying to piece it together. And the ending was perfect!

I am both nervous and excited to read the next book. Sequels are always tricky for me. They have the ability to mess with my happiness from the first book. I’m hoping that won’t be the case with this one.

I enjoyed the Time Traveler's Wife, so thought I'd try reading another time travel book. I absolutely loved the main character's development throughout the story. The two main character's energy together was such a beautiful story. I absolutely LOVED them. There were some twists near the end that truly caught me off guard but made the story even better. Loved it!

Primero y principal, al leer la sinopsis, me hizo acordar mucho a la historia de "The time traveler's wife" pero no, a pesar de algunas cuestiones es una historia totalmente diferente. Ésta es la historia de dos personas que no tenían que conocerse . Ahora, comencemos...

En Time Between Us nos encontramos con la historia de Anna Greene,una atleta,hija única que sueña con conocer el mundo. Todas las mañanas, antes de irse al instituto,sale a correr por entretenimiento. Un día de invierno, ve a un chico sentado en un banco mirándola como si la conociera. Cuando ella decide acercarse a hablar y preguntarle qué es lo que hace ahí, él desaparece. Desaparece sin dejar rastro de su partida, pero si indicios de que estuvo sentado ahí(huellas en la nieve). Ahí comienza a volverse todo muy raro. Cuando Anna llega al instituto, todos están hablando del nuevo chico que acaba de ingresar,su nombre es Bennett Cooper y es el mismo chico que estuvo mirándola mientras corría. Anna le cuenta de su " raro encuentro" pero él no entiende de que habla, ya que le asegura que no la conoce y que es la primera vez que la ve. Ella se siente confundida, ya que está muy segura de que es él a quien vio sentado en el campus,entonces quiere averiguar quien es este chico y qué es lo que oculta. Anna y Bennett comienzan a acercarse a medida que los días pasan, conociéndose más el uno al otro, hasta que un día Bennett,para salvar a Anna de un asalto, tiene que,finalmente, revelarle su secreto.Su secreto es que él viaja en el tiempo y su época real, dónde él realmente vive, es el año 2012.

Antes que nada, por dios. La época en que trascurre la historia es 1995, una de las mejores épocas de la música. La autora menciona bandas como Pearl Jam hasta el primer "casette" de Foo fighters. Diálogos como "¿Donde estabas cuando Kurt Cobain se suicidó?" Esas cosas fueron las que aumentaron aún más mi interés por el libro.
La historia es muy linda, me gustó mucho. Disfruté como se va desarrollando todo, sobre todo el romance. Pero lo que más disfruté fue cuando mencionaba esas cosas que pasaban en los años 90' y se comparaban con la actualidad.Quedé maravillada

El libro está narrado en 1º persona por Anna y es muy fácil de leer cuando la historia te engancha es difícil que apartes el libro a un lado (yo lo leí en una noche, con eso te digo todo). Aunque si te aburre de entrada de seguro no te la pasarás bien. A pesar de que exista algún que otro cliché yo creo que la narración,por parte de Anna, es muy entretenida y buena.

Los personajes, me gustaron mucho. Anna es increíble, independiente y lo único que quiere es irse, viajar por el mundo aunque a veces se comportaba como una idiota y eso provoca que te den ganas de abofetearla. Pero en los últimos capítulos, al ver como ella cambia ante varios sucesos, te dan ganas de abrazarla y decirle "¡Bravo!".
Ahora, pasando a Bennett *suspiro* Bennett. Es hermoso, desde las cosas que puede hacer, hasta las cosas que dice, me encantó. Tiene un perfíl misterioso y las cosas que hace por Anna, uff sin dudas es mi personaje favorito.


Time between us Es una historia sencilla,fácil de leer y muy entretenida. Hay algunas cositas que quedan "colgadas" como la parte final, ya que no te explican detalladamente como se resuelve todo. Pero está bien, era lo que esperaba (juro que estoy harta de finales que no son felices, ¡mierda!). Me emociona y me alegra que en octubre se publique "Time After Time" que es el libro pero desde el punto de vista de Bennett(♥). ¡Genial, lo único que puedo decir!

Anna runs at the track at Northwestern every morning. One morning she sees a guy smiling and watching her and then when she turns around he is gone. That guy happens to be the new boy at school Bennett. Strange thing is he swears he has never been to Northwestern and wasn't watching her. Anna knows she saw him and swears he recognizes her name but keeps pushing her away. Bennett runs hot and cold but Anna feels very drawn to him.

While working in the book store Anna is held at knife point and then Bennett grabs her and then they are in the park. He comes clean that he is really from San Francisco in the year 2012. In Chicago 1995 where they are currently living he has only just been born. Weird! Anna could go visit baby Bennett! As soon as he finds his sister, who he accidentally lost in time, he will have to return. Anna wants all the time with him she can get even if it only is a few weeks.

Time travel in this book allows Bennett to choose where he goes, anywhere in the world, anytime during his lifetime. He takes his clothes with him lol and also he can take anyone he wants with him. Anna who has always wanted to travel loves this and I would too! They have romantic dates on beaches on tiny little islands. They spend the night in Italy and then Bennett brings them back to right when they left. The possibilities are endless! Bennett Except that Bennett has been kicked back to his time period when he stays in one place too long and just might be kicked back again. Bennett also has rules he tries to follow and he tries not to change the future too much although he admits he used his powers to become rich! And well who could blame him?

Anna wanted Bennett to help change some things when her best friends Emma and Justin have an accident. I loved Justin and felt bad for him at times because I knew he liked Anna but was happy it never turned into a love triangle. They were both really good friends to Anna as she went through some tough times with Bennett. Bennett was really sweet and always wanted to do what was best for Anna. He knows their relationship could leave her broken hearted so I think that is why he was so hot and cold at first. But in the end he was willing to give up a lot to be with Anna and so was she. This was such a sweet romance and reminded me of The Time Traveler's Wife but don't worry it has a much happier ending. :-D

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this information. Tell him to leave? Tell him to stay? But I don't have time to consider any other alternatives because he scoots closer and brings his hands to my face, and I fall back into the bookcase as he kisses me with this intensity-like he wants me to be here, and if he kisses me just long enough, deeply enough, none of what he just said will actually be true.

Al principio me costó un poco meterme en la historia, pero de repente un día me di cuenta de que quizá el "problema" era la traducción. No digo que sea horrible, la traducción, no lo es, pero en mi modesta opinión hay construcciones un poco raras. Dejé el libro y me lo compré en inglés y me ha encantado.
"Time between us" es una novela súper romántica con un aire muy cinematográfico y con momentos muy dulces. Personalmente, el tema de los viajes en el tiempo me cuesta un poco cuando no son en plan "Outlander", es decir, cuando no hay varios siglos de diferencia. Eso de que un protagonista pueda estar dos veces al mismo tiempo y que se altere el pasado pero luego haya dos futuros paralelos me pierde un poco, pero confieso que la explicación que le da la autora en esta novela me ha convencido.
La novela está narrada en primera persona, es el personaje de Anna el que nos cuenta cómo se enamora de Bennett, un chico que puede viajar en el tiempo. Me habría gustado que Bennett hubiese llevado la narración en algunos capítulos, conocer mejor su perspectiva y sus sentimientos por Anna y por su familia. Él es, de lejos, el personaje más interesante.
El hecho de que la historia de amor pase en 1995 me ha encantado y todas sus conversaciones sobre grupos de música y películas me han hecho sonreír. Creo que la autora podría haber hecho que la relación entre Anna y Bennett fuese más intensa y dramática, pero no sé si se ha guardado esta intensidad para la segunda novela que sin duda voy a leer.

Time Between Us is a refreshingly unique love story that falls into a YA sub-genre rarely ventured by authors in this space. I’ve had the opportunity to read a few time travel books, and have enjoyed them quite a bit. However, to find one in my preferred YA genre is definitely an exception. It seems to be a sub-genre that YA authors choose not to tackle, so when I came across Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone; I was excited to dive right in. I truly enjoyed this book and found it both matchless and engaging, which provided the perfect fix for what I was hoping to experience. Loved it!

Anna and Bennett are from two different places and times. Anna lives in the city of Chicago in the year 1995, and Bennett is from the present time living in San Francisco. Therefore, logic would dictate that these two characters should have never crossed paths. However, Bennett has a unique gift that allows him to travel through time and space, and after a series of events, he and Anna meet and ultimately form a relationship that forces them to face the challenges of trying to stay together despite the odds stacked against them.

First off let me just say that I continue to be amazed with the caliber of writing I’m witnessing from debut authors in the YA genre. As of late, if I want to read something refreshing and unique I simply have to seek out a rookie or self published author to find what I’m looking for. This genre is definitely stepping up its game, and these new authors entering the scene should not be ignored.

Okay back to this book… I loved how Tamara Ireland Stone focused her energy on developing the story, characters and plot of her novel rather than muddying the experience with needless laws of physics, hypotheses or theories of time travel. As a reader, she invites us to momentarily suspend our reality and experience Anna and Bennett’s story without unnecessary time machines and plot devices. As a pair, they were extremely relatable and easy to fall for that I had no issues putting all logic in the back seat. I simply wanted to enjoy the adventure, so I welcomed Stone’s invitation to journey with her characters in this romantic, yet suspenseful story about love and friendship.

Now with time travel books, I often find that it’s easy to become confused when presented with two different points in time that have unrelated events happening in each. It takes a very crafty writer to keep the reader in pace with the events as they unfold as the characters move between two points in time. Stone did an outstanding job of keeping the storyline clear and distinct thus allowing me to focus on the events as they unfolded without having to wonder if I missed a blip in time or event. Well done!

Overall, I truly enjoyed Anna and Bennett’s story. Theirs is a tale of defying both logic and fate by attempting to overcome the obstacles they face to be with one another. It’s not about an unlikely pair or forbidden love… not at all. These two make the perfect pair, they just have one small barrier between them … time and space. Stone did a masterful job of spinning a tale that incorporates the elements of good story-telling, well crafted characters and perfect pacing to keep the reader both engaged and enchanted with her cast.

I can’t recommend this book enough to those looking for a fresh take on the potential the YA genre still has in store. Stone carved her mark among the YA authors that deserve attention. Enjoyed this one a ton!

Okay look!! Another unpopular rating!! Big surprise!!!! No, I'm not actually being sarcastic.. I usually LOVE books like this....

But this? Seriously? 1.5. Like.. MAX.

The only reason I read this book was because of the author. Tamara Ireland Stone. Back in 2015, she wrote one of my FAVORITE books. Every Last Word. Ahh... Most of us LOVED that book, remember?

So, yeah. 2015. Totally amazing. 2012? Not so much.... What was it? Was it because the "End of the World" was pressuring her or something? I cannot BELIEVE the same person wrote these two books. Like ugh.

It all starts out with Anna. Two chapters in... Ha. I decided I hated her. But I always hate the main character before falling in love so I was like, "Okay, whatever. Let's keep going. It'll get better." And my mom was like, "Are you talking to yourself?"

It didn't get better.

And halfway through the book? "Maybe it'll get better by the end!" And my mom started dialing some number, presumably a mental hospital. She should really be used to this verbal expression of thoughts by now. Hmm..

It didn't get better.

The characters both pissed me off in the beginning. The guy was okay I guess... But then in the middle, I decided Anna and Bennett could... I don't know.. Fuck themselves in a corner. That probably would have made the book more tolerable.

The ending was terrible. But I'm getting ahead of myself... *caaalmmminggg viiiiibes*


Firstly, how the hell does Anna have a British friend whose British English is still intact if Anna was the last one to move into town??? I mean... How does that even make sense???? Well, maybe it does. I moved across the globe, but my English is still pretty much American-sounding. But that was 4 years ago. And I lived in Miami for 14 years before that. Emma, "Anna's Brit" as she's so lovingly called, lived in that small Midwestern town her whole life, practically. So yeah doesn't make sense.

Oh, newsflash: they don't actually live in Chicago.. They live in this small-town NEAR it.

And what kind of lazy-ass name picking is that?? Anna. Emma. Besties!!! Woohoo! Go creativity!!!

Yeah, my reasons so far are personal preferences, but wait, the good stuff is coming. Okay, fine. Not that good. Still.

You know what to expect in a time travel book, right? There's your book. Predictable nonsense and irritating dialogue.

Anna is a whining bitch. And Bennett has no willpower. And together! They! Change! Fate! And! Destiny! This is so exciting!

Whoa, that's the whole story. That's it. That's the problem.
I've read that story probably a million times. It doesn't cut it.

Should we delve deeper????

1995... I gotta think like a girl from 1995.. Got it. [insert dependent manipulative bitch]. Okay I'm being unfair. They're probably not like that... But Anna..

Also what the actual hell???? Why is every YA female main character into running??? Honey, you get me up at 10am and I'll give you a prize, forget that pre-dawn running ritual shit. Why????? So she can have this "questioning my existance/ awakening" moment????

Hello, I'd like to file a complaint against copyright infringement. CUZ IT'S THE SAME THING EVERYONE ELSE WRITES. Dude, make it original, like at least TRY.

Oh... What was that? You don't agree with me? Whatever. They talked for the first time, pushed each other away, and made out within the span of like 20 pages and in the book... 3 weeks.. But ehhhh it didn't worrrkkkk. The author didn't play up the mystery of the guy.... It could've actually worked if the author had kept my interest piqued. Instead... You have this weird do-over of Twilight with them staring at each other for ages (minus the vampires).


Okay, the point is... I was bored. The biggest thing that happened... That BIG SECRET well... Read the blurb! The rest is just overdone bullshit.

But you know... The places mentioned are very interesting. I like that part. Those parts were nice. Postcards were a good idea too....

The ending sucks. Even though it involves postcards. Like no joke. I wanted to stab Anna. Repeatedly. With something sharper than a butter knife. And maybe Bennett while I was at it. It. Was. So. Bad. I can't even begin to describe it. So dumb.

Okay maybe that was the WHOLE FUCKING POINT but NOO. NO. NO. That was so stupid. Ugh. I won't even try anymore.

Oh, was I supposed to feel all your pain and agony and hurt and internal conflict???? Cuz all I got was bullshit. I said that already. Whatever.

And wait for it..... There's a goddamn sequel. No joke. Who the hell in their right mind would even.....??????????? Ugh... This is too much. Ugh ugh ugh ugh. Ugh. Wasted my time. Don't waste yours.

Loving someone from a distance is hard.
What's even harder is when distance is not the only thing that is keeping you apart.
But also TIME.



Anna was not expecting to meet the guy she saw at the track on one of her classes.
Bennett was the new boy at school and she was positive that he was the same guy she saw at the track earlier that day.
When they asked Bennett, he denies he was ever at the track and that he has not seen Anna before.
After that incident, Bennett started to distance himself from Anna.
Anna always wondered what she did to Bennett to make him act that way towards her.
During one of Anna's shift at their bookstore, a robber came in and threatened to hurt her if she doesn't give the stores earnings but out of the blue Bennett grabs her and the next minute they were at the park.
Bennett confessed that he was a time traveller looking for his sister and that he was from the year 2012.
Even though they both know that Bennett could not stay, they developed feelings for each other.
Aside from his ability to time travel, Bennett was still keeping something from Anna.
A secret that might change both their futures forever.

Time Between Us is a sweet memorable story about two teenager who fell in love in the most unusual circumstance. It was simple but sincere. The plot was simple and easy to follow but the twist in the end is what really caught me. I was expecting a sad, miserable ending probably like the Time Traveler's wife but I was happy that it didn't end that way.

I honestly loved the cover of this book. Just looking at the cover and without even reading the synopsis I would have picked this book up and read it. That is the power of a good cover. Sometimes it backfires though because sometimes good covers don't have good contents but this was not one of them.

Anna was one of those characters you'll love dearly. Of course, there are times when I was mad at her for forcing Bennett to do some things he doesn't want to do but honestly in the end appreciating her for what she has done. I like Anna because she thinks and she wasn't the typical girl who gets depressed because the guy leaves but she wasn't like that. I appreciate her being the strong girl that she was.

Bennett. I loved Bennett. Don't you just love the name Bennett? I surely do and when you read about him you'll see why. I read a lot of reviews mentioning that this book was kind of Twilight-ish but I couldn't really see that. Bennett was nothing like Edward. I like Edward too but no he wasn't as possessive and overprotective as Edward. Bennett was the type of guy you'll like not because he is smoking hot like aheemm Daemon but because he was sweet and thoughtful and yeah cute.

The additional characters like Emma and Justin were good additions to the story. I kind of felt that this book will not be as effective without their story.

I would like to say that I liked the chemistry between Anna and Bennett. For those of you expecting any hot steamy scenes from this book then I'd like to warn you that there is none of that here. There are a lot of sweet scenes though that will wish you were back in highschool. I loved the moment where Anna and Bennett were on the beach. I won't tell you which beach though. Hahaha.

I did notice some parts that confused me and hoped it was better explained. Like regarding his missing sister. It wasn't thoroughly explained as to how she just appeared and what he did to find her. Also the ending, I wasn't exactly thrilled about it either. I mean I like Happily-Ever-After endings but it just left me confused.

But still I'm going to give this book 5 stars. Why? Because this book was very well written and I'd have to say one of my favorite time-travelling book after Timeless. If you liked Time Traveller's wife, then this is it's YA Edition only way way better.

Time Between Us was a gorgeously written story that deals with falling in love, making choices and if we decide to choose things differently how would this end up affecting our lives in a major way? I’m probably not making much sense right now as I’ve just finished reading the last page of this gem of a book, but in Time Between Us Tamara Ireland Stone develops a sweet relationship between two characters and sprinkles it with a special time travel twist.

Time Between Us went way beyond what I was expecting it to be. I had recently devoured another time travel book and was in the mood for another time travel book and a bit of romance. I’m pleased to say Time Between Us delivered in these aspects and provided so much more. It had a nice mystery aspect to it with us not really knowing what was going on with the new boy Bennett. I didn’t like Bennett at all at the beginning, he constantly blew hot and cold which frustrated me to no end, and it was clear that there was something strong between him and Anna but for whatever reason he continued to be closed off and a grump about it. But I admired Anna’s resilience and thought her best friend Emma’s (who was exactly what best friends should be like) encouragement went after Bennett once more. I’m so glad that Anna did because the relationship which emerged was one of the most sweetest and beautiful ones yet.

I kind of had a feeling that there would be heartbreak along the way for Anna and Bennett and to be honest this is how I like my romance in stories to be, I want my characters to have a battle through tough hurdles and really fight for their relationship. And this is exactly what Bennett and Anna had to do. But the hurdles they had to deal with were so different to what a normal couple had to deal with. With Bennett’s ability, it was that they could only enjoy themselves so much before something out of their control could take everything away in an instant.

Time Between us not only had a poignant romance it also featured many beautiful places; Vernazza Italy, La Paz Mexico and Ko Tao Thailand, I loved having that feeling of being able to be whisked away to another place anywhere in an instant and being able to forget the rest of your troubles behind.

Tamara Ireland Stone truly wrote an exceptional story in Time Between Us. I liked how she didn’t leave it easy for our characters Bennett and Anna that they had to constantly try and savour each moment as their last. The twists thrown in I extremely enjoyed, as I was constantly left guessing until the very last page. Time Between Us was a book which satiated my latest addiction of time travel books. Now all that is left is my own Bennett to turn up and whisk me away to some place else.

El tiempo entre nosotros es la primera parte de una bilogía juvenil que tiene una historia bonita, fresca, original y que emocionará a más de una lectora. Es una bilogía que desde que la vi me llamó muchísimo la atención, que tiene unas ediciones preciosas y que al fin he tenido la oportunidad de leerla.
Esta novela, como os comentaba, tiene una trama y una historia muy bonita. La historia trata sobre la relación que se da en torno a Bennett y Anna, cómo dos épocas diferentes encajan y sobreviven juntas. Es una historia que al final se vive intensamente y que cala hondo en la lectora. Principalmente es lo que más me ha gustado del libro.
Además nos encontramos con una trama sencilla, fácil de leer, entretenida y cuyas páginas vuelan conforme se van pasando. Engancha un poco y eso también es genial. Pero lo cierto es que le falta algo de acción y de trama, pues es muy sencilla. Aunque de todos modos engancha bastante y no aburre en ningún momento.
Respecto a los personajes sin duda Bennett es un personaje muy interesante e intenso. Es el personaje que marca la trama y la novela, es el personaje que le da vida y gracia a la historia. Es un personaje muy bien profundizado y desarrollado.
Por otro lado Anna es un personaje que también me gustó. No tanto como Bennett, pero está bien como protagonista estándar y algo tópica.
El tiempo entre nosotros es una novela que se disfruta por su sencillez, por su historia bonita y entrañable y por tener unos personajes muy bien perfilados.

Anna is living in Chicago in 1995 when she meets a boy named Bennett. Bennett is from the year 2012 but has the ability to time travel. They were never supposed to meet, but now that they have their lives change forever.

I'm not 100% sure how to feel about this book, it was just average in my opinion. The characters were relateable, but I didn't really care about what happened to any of them. Honestly, I would rather have had Emma, Anna's best friend as the main character. She was funny and spunky and I just liked her a whole lot better than Anna. The story line was cute, but ultimately unmemorable to me. I didn't feel much for the romance and hated the insta love. The first half of the book was pretty boring, but it got better as it went on.

Overall, just completely average for me.

REVIEW: Sigh. With all the glowing reviews I've seen on Goodreads, I had high hopes for this one. Poorly-paced with boring characters and plenty of melodrama, Time Between Us was "okay" at best and royally irritating at worst. I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it, either. I thought about abandoning it several times, but I stuck it out because of the glowing reviews. If you are currently reading it and love it, then please carry on and ignore my review. But if you are reading it, wondering at the glowing reviews and thinking "surely it gets better," take my word for it: it doesn't. A few things I didn't like:

Nice-but-boring characters. The four major characters are all perfectly pleasant people who I might know or like in real life, but for a novel about something as exciting as time-travel, none of them seem interesting enough.

"It's all about Anna." It feels that way, anyways. I do appreciate that Anna has a life of her own separate from Bennett. She has multiple friends, a passion for running, supportive parents, and a bright future, so I never really understood her obsession with travel and worry over "being stuck" in her small town. Really, girl? You are only in high school; most people haven't done lots of traveling in high school. Her hopelessness that she'll "never leave this town" is completely silly. Doesn't she realize that after high school, it's all up to her? She's a spring-semester senior graduating in a few weeks--what does she think happens after graduation? Methinks she doesn't have as much "fight" as her friend Emma gives her credit for.

Drama. While Anna has plenty to keep herself busy, Bennett is a lot less involved in his own life and seems to live only for Anna. He's ready to leave his whole life, family, time period behind for some chick he's barely known a month. Most teen boys in a new relationship would run the other way if their new girlfriend got all pouty and dramatic the way Anna does. She really rakes him over the coals at times, all because he didn't tell her "everything." Get over yourself, Anna.

Sketchy details. I also questioned the premise behind Bennett's whole ability to time-travel. Seriously? He just decided one day to think about another place and time, and it worked? No other explanation? No time travelers in the family? No freak industrial accident? No ancient time-traveling rock? Nothing?

Slow pacing. With only one real conflict, Time Between Us barely had enough substance to sustain an entire novel. I didn't really care if Anna and Bennett could make their romance work, and I thought the stuff with Emma (if you've read it, you know what I'm talking about) missed a huge opportunity for a cool secondary (or even primary) storyline. I was more interested in the fallout of the Emma/Justin storyline than I was in the romantic outcome of two nice-but-uninteresting people. How disappointing that the story didn't better explore Emma's change of fate or the repercussions of screwing around with time.

I will say that I LOVED the abundant 90s music references, especially the lyrics to "If I Could" by Phish near the end of the story. I haven't thought about that song in forever, and I had to sing the lyrics over and over in my head to even remember it at all. Stone only includes the first few lines of the song, and it near about drove me crazy trying to remember the artist and title. Hoist was one of my favorite albums in college, and I had forgotten all about it.

Since I didn't really care for it and gave all kinds of bad vibes in my review, I think it is only fair here to include some the many positive reviews I've read. Here are two:

When I first found out about Time Between Us I was so excited. Not only is the main character's name, Anna (like me!!), but time travel?! Yes please! I've even had the pleasure of meeting Tamara at a few local events, since she's a local author, so I was incredibly excited to dive in. Not only are the characters amazingly real, but the story itself is breathtaking. It definitely reminded me of The Time Traveler's Wife which is one of my most favorite books ever, and a little bit of The Lake House. Yes, two amazing stories that also involve romance and time travel. If you're a big fan of romance and time travel then you will definitely want to pick up a copy of Time Between Us!!

I absolutely loved the characters in this story. Anna is strong, independent, intelligent, and driven. There is definitely a point where Bennett and Anna are struggling to hold on to each other, but I loved how Anna didn't curl up into a ball in the woods and cry about it for months. She really shows how strong she's become throughout the story. And Bennett... oh my God Bennett... If there was every a swoon-tastic boy in a YA story it's Bennett. He's so caring and romantic and I loved getting to know all of his secrets at the same time as Anna. Their relationship is definitely not normal, considering he travels through time, but it's romantic and easy to relate to. We can all remember out first loves :)

The story itself is just fantastic. There are so many details that make this story so wonderful. Tamara's writing style is just gorgeous. She has a way with words that really helped paint a picture of certain settings. When Anna and Bennett go rock climbing, I seriously felt like I was scaling the mountain myself. Even the dialogue is great and so true to teenagers and the way they speak. There are even a couple plot twists that I had no idea were coming! By the end I was laughing and crying!

Overall, I absolutely loved Time Between Us. It's an amazing story of love, loss, and friendship and I loved every minute of it. The characters are all amazing and easy to relate to, and I loved their growth throughout the book. If you haven't already added Time Between Us to your TBR do so NOW. I'm not sure if this book is a standalone, but I'm really hoping Tamara will write more of Anna and Bennett's story because I just couldn't get enough!!

TIME BETWEEN US was a cross between Time traveller's wife and Jumper with bit of Butterfly Effect thrown into it.

Bennett can jump from one place to another and he can also travel in time as long as he was alive at that time.

Anna lives in 1995, she has an intense need inside of her - she wants to travel the world. She craves an adventure. Her monotonous life is interupted when a new student comes. Bennett is bit weird. He has way too long hair and he doesn't really want to socialize.

Those two are drawn to each other. Not even his secret can keep them apart.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me on my toes to the last sentence. It was funny, witty, readable and gripping.

I didn't like Anna's friends. At all. They were annoying and too damn selfish. I couldn't stand them and I'm glad that they weren't there for a long periods of time.

It conveys a message. That even if you would have the chance to change some major or even minor parts of history, you shouldn't. Because even one tiny change can turn out to be a huge mistake. It could result in something much was worse. Even if it sounds as a cliché - things do happen for a reason.

I still don't really understand how the whole thing worked. There was no explanation. There's a lot of hows, whos and whys unanswered but I'm quite okay with that. It fits the whole mood of the book.

It's rare for me to add a contemporary book to my list of recommendations and, yes, I know, this one isn't strictly contemporary. There's an element of magic to it. I love the sweet romance. It reminds me of the movie Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour and if you haven't seen that one yet, add it to your list of movies to watch. Picked up book two immediately.

Anna and Bennett where never surppose to meet she is Sixteen living in Chicago in 1995. He is Seventeen living in San Fancissco in 2012.


Anna and Bennett's story is a pure pleasure to read. Tamara Ireland Stone hooked me in to her amazing time traveling love story and broke my heart within the first three pages and I didn't stop reading til the end.

The relonship between Anna and Bennett is touching and shows how well Stone can write and tell a story to its fullness.

I loved Anna's voice with in the book. I felt everything along with her and fell in love with Bennett too. Bennett is defo a swoon YA book boy that all girls (old or young) will fall in love with.

Bennett has rules for his time traveling three of them being
-Never to change an event that has happened
-Never to travel out of his life time
-Never tell anyone he can time travel

But he has broken all of the above rules. He broke one for his sister Brooke and she is lost in that time still. He is searching for her which is how Anna meets him. The other two rules he breaks for Anna first when he tells her about himself and then he changes an event that had a big effect of her best friend Emma and her boyfriend Justin.

I was so invested in this book I cried when Bennett takes Anna to his time in 2012 and she gets ripped away from him and you see Anna stugle to cope and then move on after him leaving. You really have that felling that oh no what happens if there never make it back to each other.

Time Between Us has been on my book wish-list since April 2011 and what can I say the wait was totally worth it. I loved every single second the romance,time travel,side characters and the dates between Anna and Bennett.

Time Between Us is a book that I wish I could just quote all of it because I love it so much but I can't so here are my top 6 quotes.

-"I close my eyes as his thumb slides toward my mouth and brushes my lower lip, and I can feel myself moving in closer, like I'm being pulled in to the gravity that surrounds him."

-"I don't stay anywhere.I vist.I observe.I leave.I don't ever stay."

-"I spent most of the night distracted by a time traveler who vists but never stays. An incredible,beautiful boy with eyes I can never seem to get out of my head."

-"As I look around the forest with sunlight gleaming through the sky, unlike Ko Tao, I can always come back here when he's gone. When I'm missing him, like I already know I will be."

-"I know I'm supposed to care, but I don't, not right now. I don't want to think about what he can do and where he go and when he might leave, because at this momentwe're both in the exact same place at the exact same time."

-"I'm saying....I'm completely in love with you. And I guess I'm wondering...What if Ididn't leave after all?"

Time Between Us is a must read for any YA fan a amazing 2012 debut with a rocking cover.

Such an original and believable time-travel-love story!

Bennett travels through time, and usually he does it for fum. But this time, there is a reason he has to go back, and ends up in Anna's time. As much as he tries to stay away, tries to remain unnoticed by all so he doesn't disturb "history", is there a possibility that things happened for a reason? Was he meant to come here? To meet her?
Anna goes to a private school where everyone is the majority of the students are privileged own cars and have traveled plenty. Anna is okay with the fact that her parents both have to work overtime in order to put through her school to give her the best education and she is all prepared to start her senior year, with the hopes to travel once she graduates. It is something that she has always wanted to do and fears that she may not be able to because of her lack of finances... but in the end, life is good for Anna.
When she meets Bennett, its hard to say how she feels about him. And as she bumps into him and little by little gets to know him, she is not sure what to think of him. They're relationship slowly unfolds... she continuously feels that that Bennett may be hiding things; that he may not be telling her everything... can she trust him?

I really loved seeing how independent Anna was! Even after meeting Bennett and the things they went through, she did not completely crumble but got herself together and became stronger.
Oh my, and Bennett... you will fall in love with this boy! Other than the fact that he is a time traveler, he is still such a unique and memorable character. He is not perfect, but no boy ever is. But he makes up for it, in so many ways.

As a teen who grew up in the early 90's (oh my, did I just give away my age?!), who was in high school when Kurt Cobain passed away and who thought that Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam) was a god - all of the 90's references brought me back in time as well! I felt like I was 16, 17, 18 all over again, which makes me love this book even more!

And it has to be said, I really enjoyed this so much more than The Time Travelers Wife, which was much more serious and at times lagged - Time Between Us picks up after about 100 pages or so and then it has you continuously turning the pages! You won't be able to put it down - so be careful you don't get any paper-cuts!

El tiempo entre nosotros cuenta una historia realmente bonita, original y amena. Una lectura más que recomendable para los amantes de los romances tiernos y de los viajes en el tiempo. En ocasiones la autora ha conseguido tocar mi fibra sensible -creo que la mía lo es demasiado- y emocionarme. El final me ha parecido un poco precipitado, pero al fin y al cabo, la historia ha terminado tal y como esperaba. Lo que me ha sorprendido es saber que la autora está escribiendo una continuación de esta historia, pues el final es completamente cerrado y lo veo innecesario. Pero por otro lado, no me importaría continuar conociendo más aventuras de esta pareja que tanto me ha gustado, y resolviendo a la vez unas cuantas cosas que se han quedado en el aire.

I can admit it... I haven't really read a lot of time travel books, so I was a bit leery going into this. I don't know what I was thinking. I absolutely loved it.

Anna lives in 1995 in Chicago.

Bennett lives in 2012 in San Francisco.

They were never supposed to meet.

Bennett has an incredible ability to travel through time. There are a few catches to the whole process, but as long as he stays within the years he's been alive, he's never had any trouble, and I thought this was a wonderful twist to the story.

He shows up in Chicago in 1995, seemingly out of nowhere. Anna first encounters him on the bleachers while she runs one morning, only Bennett says it wasn't him. The bulk of the story takes place during this time period and it was wonderful to relive all the things that were going on back then... the music references and concerts!

After something happens that forces Bennett to spill his secrets to Anna, they grow closer. I couldn't help but feel nervous for these two, simply because Bennett was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be and Anna was falling for him completely.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this information. Tell him to leave? Tell him to stay? But I don't have time to consider any other alternatives, because he scoots in closer and brings his hands to my face, and I fall back into the bookcase as he kisses me with this intensity-like he wants to be here, and if he kisses me just long enough, deeply enough, none of what he just said will actually be true. And as much as I know it's all true and that it's incredibly stupid to feel this way about someone who doesn't belong here-who, when he leaves, will hardly be a plane ride away-my hands leave the Berber carpet, find his back, and pull him toward me until I'm flat against the shelves. Because he's here now. And because I'm pretty certain I don't want this to stop. Ever.



After something happens and both Bennett and Anna test his abilities by changing the past and breaking his personal rules for his ability, I swear I read with a ball of nerves resting in my stomach, waiting for something to happen. I mean, they are messing with fate and I've seen that movie The Butterfly Effect. Just saying.

I really enjoyed the characters - definitely Anna, while I found myself a bit angry with her a few times, I thought she was written really well. I did find myself emotionally attached to her and her feelings so she obviously worked for me.

Bennett, once we got to know him was sweet and protective and caring and while their relationship wasn't born of the normal, he made the effort to try and give her the normal as well as the spectacularly grand and unbelievable.

One thing I would have liked to know more about is the manifestation of his ability. We get a brief explanation, which works for the book, but being naturally curious you wonder if there is anyone else like him, who has this talent as well ... where did it come from, why him... those kinds of things. I myself would have a hard time accepting the ability without doing tons of digging and trying to find out why me.

I also would have liked to know what happened with Anna in her previous life... why in the prologue does she give him the letter and what made her first choice not the right one for her.

I think what is most intriguing about this book is the idea of time travel itself and changing history... 'what if' ... what if you could have made a different choice in life, what if you could change the outcome of an event. All these things are intriguing and can't help but make you as a reader think of the way things might be different in your life if only...

Once I started this book it was hard to put down, like I said, I turned page after page nervous for these two while reading. If you're looking for a sweet contemporary YA romance than this is just the thing for you.

I want to time travel to 2012 just so I can squee with more people about TIME BETWEEN US! It's a sweet romantic journey perfect for curling up with under the covers and losing yourself. In full disclosure, I am friends with Tamara Ireland Stone, but that simply gives me another reason to love her book even more!

Anna Greene has dreamed of traveling her whole life, but she's barely left the borders of her home state, Illinois. She knows there's something mysterious about Bennett Cooper when she meets him, and as their romance unfolds, Anna will travel to places she's never thought possible.

I really loved the chemistry between Anna and Bennett, but the romance was well balanced with a touch of mystery and adventure. Anna finds herself on a heart-pounding journey at home AND away, while having to confront serious choices and consequences in her personal life. The decisions she makes are heart-wrenching and believable. I couldn't stop turning pages to find out What Happens Next?!

If I'm being a *little* vague, it's because I don't want to spoil anything before the book comes out! Simply put, TIME BETWEEN US was well crafted, a lot of fun, and will grab you by the heart strings and take you on an amazing journey!
