Aggh yes, exactly. I know the feeling! I've been working at a summer camp every day this month, plus going to my office job ... so by the time I get home I'm just SO drained. I can't get myself to read, except for like two minutes at a time, lol. Whenever I get home I just want to nap. :D Also honestly I've been really involved in some fandom-related stuff on Tumblr for the past month or so ... which is a lot of fun and I've made some awesome friends because of it, but I also haven't been very productive as a result (besides doing fan art, lol). :P

Agreed, Storm! I've been in a slump too, although yours sounds much healthier by being outside! :) I think I'm finally out of mine!

LOL, Storm, my husband calls me and says, I thought you were on your way home and I stopped to Pokemon hunt :D But I usually listen to my audiobook as I'm playing.

I'm sorry Serena! Hopefully you find a good book soon!

It can be really irritating. Like, I got a lot of books I wanna read. Just seems like I need to catch up.

In a slump right now. What's the biggest new thing in ya (by which I mean written around or after 2014) and any recommendations? (I like books with good villains but I'll take anything, just please make sure it's recent)

Hi Harold!! Great to see you again!!
Favorites for me were
and the Red Rising trilogy
Red Rising was full of really great villians!!
Hope you conquer that reading slump soon! Stay in touch, we've missed you!

Currently, I'm reading a blah horror book by a favorite author, listening to a meh audio romance book, a few pages away from a pretty decent romance ebook (but then I'll be stuck with all this mediocrity) and then there's the book club book...
I suggested that my real life book club pick a free or inexpensive book since the pandemic has closed down interlibrary loans and I didn't want anyone (including me) to have to buy a book. One lady said that the library was re-opening on March 26, so there was no need. So we chose a book that I finally broke down and bought for $12.99 and it's sooooo slow. I am so annoyed and I get angry every time I start reading.
So I don't know if this counts as a reading slump, but reading these books are not fun or relaxing. Oh, and I'm behind on writing reviews and my books from the pandemic are all due back on July 1.
Okay, done ranting. Hope everyone is doing great out there!

I feel your pain!! I hate when I get slumpy! Sometimes I think I might have liked a book I give a low star to if I wasn’t. I started pushing myself to watch some movies or shows on my streaming services or walk a bit. It seems to help get away for a little bit.
Anyway, good luck!! 💕

That is wonderful! I hope you can enjoy yourself 😊

You would think since I read 4-5 books simultaneously that odds are that one of these books would be compelling. But here I am again with a long, slow mystery book by a best-selling author. A long and slow audiobook by a favorite author. I think I need to quit this series after this book, because I don't like this adult series as much as I liked his YA stories. An interesting but slow mystery by an international author. A super slow but not bad U.K. mystery. Both of these books are well written and interesting, but just not quick reads. And a 2nd book in a YA series that is starting slowly and not as good as the 1st book. (I never know if I should mention the titles of the books that I'm not enjoying, because I don't want to offend anyone or disparage a book that I haven't yet finished.)
(And Melissa, I went for a walk today.)
Hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for listening...

Hey there, I think I am getting out of my current reading slump and my writing GRs review slump. I have been reading some, though not as much as usual, but I have not felt like writing reviews.
So my review solution is to write just a few lines when I post my finish date and if I get back to write a more comprehensive review then yay and if not, then at least I have a short review.

So I usually read 4-5 books at a time. But I'm trying to finish books for reading challenges before the end of the year...and I'm currently reading 8 books and I kind of feel like I'm drowning. :D Most of them are pretty good, but it's a lot to remember 8 plots and characters. I'm overwhelmed but not sure if this qualifies as a reading slump.
