Nools, I have several faves of theirs, including Autumn Sweater. Yo La Tengo is awesome. Standouts include (and are not limited to):

Season of the Shark

Today Is the Day

Here Comes My Baby

Tears Are In Your Eyes

and a few others that I can't find on playlist. :)

Tears for Fears - The Hurting

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Tears for Fears, wow. That sure takes me back to my college days:

"Shout, shout, let it all out..."

Your college days??? OMG! This reminds me of long summer days at the neighborhood association pool when I was in grade school. You are not that much older than I am, librarian.

message 409: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Hmmmm. Uh, I think so ....

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments "Everybody Want to Rule the World" was my favorite song my sophomore year, Sally. I graduated from high school in '84, college in '88.

Félix (habitseven) She just looks as young as you, Sally. I mean, not that you look old or anything. Oh shit.

message 413: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I like the first Tears of Fears record. All you whippersnappers caught on later. I remember listening to that first record in middle school...

Logan wrote, Today seems to be shaping up to be an "all Blonde Redhead, all the time" kind of day. Just cycled through all of Misery is a Butterfly and am currently enjoying "SW" off of 23.

Be still my heart! I LOVE Blonde Redhead. I swear I heard 23 for weeks straight when it came out. Such a lovely, lush-sounding album, cryptic and mysterious.

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 347 comments Gus, I am in love with Kazu Makino's voice. That kind of choked whisper sort of style, it really adds a delicious thin layer of dread on top of the instruments.

Gulp! Okay, okay, this is great, though! You'll be fine. You just need to prepare VERY THOROUGHLY, with research so you can ask really good questions, and PRACTICE asking the questions with someone to avoid the mumbles.

Do you have to write down the answers, or will you have a recorder, KD?

message 434: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Jackie's plan is better - do your research. I still have faith that you can pull it off. :)
