Michaela (Journey into Books) The Winner's Curse. I just couldn't connect to the characters and I just felt bored while reading it.

Michael (michjarv98) | 14 comments I was not impressed with the last 2 books in the Divergent series.
I felt the last 2 books were extremely rushed and it didn't wow me like the 1st one did

Nellie ☾ (derpnerys) | 185 comments Eleanor & Park

I didn't like Eleanor because she was a bit immature idk. Maybe I just need to give it another chance because I had to pause a lot of times while reading it.

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 31 comments I wasn't a huge fan of Graceling by Kristen Cashore. The first half was pretty epic, and all the adventuring was fun, but the romance was really weird and unsatisfying--kinda soured the whole book for me :/

Aastha (aasthap) | 67 comments Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
I had started it because the synopsis sounded quite promising but I couldn't read more than, I think about 40 pages as the story became too boring and I hated the writing method. At first it was OK and I thought I will be able to continue it but nahh! Couldn't stand the writing method and plus the story was just becoming extremely boring.

D.B. Woodling | 21 comments It's always difficult for an author to criticize another's hard work, but Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater wasn't paranormal enough for me.

message 670: by Kim (new)

Kim Lisa (readingsolvesallmyproblems) I realize neither of these are YA...

Fifty shades-terrible writing, still trying to figure out why they're so popular
Lord of the Rings-incredibly boring to me, just not my style

I also just finished the 3rd book in The Queens Thief series and they just aren't doing it for me. I don't hate them but think they're hugely overrated...in my opinion ;-)

message 671: by [deleted user] (new)

I really did not like The Fault in Our Stars by John Green at all. It just didn't strike me as being an overly great book. However, I watched the movie despite my dislike for the book and I actually thought the movie wasn't bad, but then again when it comes to reading books such as this one, I tend to get bored reading it because there isn't much 'action' I guess I can say. Another one that just came out recently that everyone is hyped about and I just wasn't wanting any part of is Passenger (Passenger, #1) by Alexandra Bracken I just could not get into it for the life of me!

I agree. I was so hyped about it too! I went out and bought it literally the day it came out just to go right back the next day and return it...

message 674: by Marta (new)

Marta I don't understand the at all the hype about Throne of Glass series, the first book was meh, the second ok but the third I simply could not finished it.
Maybe I have a problem with the author so I don't know if I should give "a court of thorns and roses" a try

DaughterOfHades | 1 comments Twilight! Definitely that one.. I am not saying it was bad.. but it was! Like I couldn't even read five pages without having to face palm myself because of those stupid lines.. didn't even bother reading the sequels! My friend was reading those books and I sat there counting how many pages Bella was crying over her breakup!

That sucks you couldn't get into it :( It is my favorite series..well one of them lol. Some books just aren't for some people though. A lot of people love "Thirteen Reasons Why" "Passenger" "Fault In Our Stars" "Vampire Academy" and "Divergent" which none of those books are any that I care about.

I feel Divergent was literally the only good book out of the trilogy

message 681: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 31 comments The problem I had with the Divergent trilogy was Tris's constant self-examination. It was kinda cool and poetic in the first book, but it lost its poignancy in the last two and towards the end, it just made her seem like a self-obsessed jerk. Her character arc was the be-all and end-all of the story, and I didn't think it alone was interesting enough to merit three books.
There were definitely some cool parts though, and I understand why people like the series :)

Maxx (capreads) | 11 comments Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.

First book I did not finish. I tend to read until the end of every book because of my respect for authors and their work but I just couldn't do it with this book. His sense of humor didn't amuse me. I found it cheesy and not at all funny.

Seriously I tend to ignore certain aspects but with this series I just couldn't. I hate Celaena, I hate what the author did to Chaol, I hate the multiple povs and multiple love interests. Just made me think Celeane was some kind of Goddess!!NO, JUST NO!!

And I totally agree with Maze Runner, Fangirl, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, 13 Reasons Why, Vampire Academy and The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, god what a depressing series.
