Who else should I become a fan of…

AAAUUUGGGHHH!
I have a cousin named Rusty.
Isn't that interesting?
Isn't that interesting?
And I have an uncle named Russell (Rusty's dad).
I think if your last name were Montambo, we'd have been onto that, sooner.
By the way, my Russell and Rusty both live in Idaho.

Serv: Her intelligence acknowledged, let us just say she was ideally suited to write about "ego." Ha!

Whatever makes you feel better.

I think it is worth pointing out that he was a very successful criminal.

Hey, anyone in the Haters Club have a counter-epithet to "Hippie"? I know we liberals tend not to resort to the name-calling so favored by conservatives, but maybe it's time to extend ourselves a bit, just to enjoy a bit of horseplay?
"Rupert Murdoch FOXes"?
"Blackwater-boarders"?
"Diebold Frontiersmen"?
"No-Fly Listers"?
Dang... nothing as succinct as "hippie." Strange, when you consider the effect they've had on a major democratic system. But then, the world was ever a crappy litmus test of human values....

But I will help you out, conservative versions of hippies:
workaholic
tax payer
productive member of society
Oh! bathers.
(Tiptoes past, looking for a safer thread)

Rusty, it's supposed to be a a counter-epithet to "hippie" like:
bourgeois
bigot
square
old maid
fuddy-duddy
or
fogy
...

Did I get all the fogginess out?

1) Lied and bullied this nation into a war with a country that didn't attack us
2) Ignored bidding protocols to give their own people lucrative "rebuilding" contracts in Iraq (can you say "Halliburton"?)
3) created FAA "Watch" and "No Fly" lists that detained about a MILLION US citizens -- including Ted Kennedy, a 74-year-old nun, and others who have verbally opposed the past administration -- at airports, even though the TSA itself complains that these lists are "useless"
4) over the past 8 years created the biggest national deficit in history while simultaneously continuing to give tax cuts to the richest among us.
5) SERIOUSLY messed with our voting system
Yeah, "Hippies" are the problem. I only wish.

2)I fucking hate halliburton: no argument.
3)TSA is useless the hold protocol is broken. But this isn't a conservative/democrat thing.
4)Obama has surpassed any damage done by Bush in just over 100 days. time to build a bridge and get over it.
5)you will have to explain this in more detail.
Wish granted hippies ARE the problem.

When you say you "think" something and are proven wrong, it's a mistake. When you say you "know" something and are proven wrong, it's a lie. This is a general rule. But it's particularly important when you have access to information sources almost no one else on earth can access. As president of the most powerful nation on earth, you can't say you "know" something, and then demand "Take-overs."
2)I fucking hate halliburton: no argument.
Any thoughts on Blackwater? Just curious.
3)TSA is useless the hold protocol is broken. But this isn't a conservative/democrat thing.
I'm afraid I must disagree. In mid-December 2001, two lists were created: the "No Fly List" of 594 people to be denied air transport, and the "Selectee" list of 365 people who were to be more carefully searched at airports. By 2007, some 775,000 names were on the lists, and our government publicly stated that 20,000 names were being added monthly. If I recall correctly, that government was a conservative administration. The TSA itself went on record saying that such a huge list was "useless" in protecting the public.
4)Obama has surpassed any damage done by Bush in just over 100 days. time to build a bridge and get over it.
Wow. The Bush administration was in power for almost 3,000 days, but after 3% of that time period, OBAMA is responsible for the problems. I have no idea how to answer this.
5) you will have to explain this in more detail.
You have no concerns about the Diebold voting machines? Just for a start.

Blackwater: Assholes. They were paid sum's of money that would fund a whole platoon, and operated without ROE's. At the same time when Military men were being charged with acting outside of the ROE's. Bullshit.

Yeah yeah Jini, story of my life - always playing second fiddle.

Tom, those all work for me. I was actually leaning toward "anti-American," but "jack-booted thug" is also accurate, and it has a nice ring.

Doni, I didn't think we were having a "heated" conversation. But I like name calling too.
Rusty, you can always play my fiddle first.

Ooo! There's your counter word to hippie. Normal.

Ooo! There's your counter word to hippie. Normal."
even 3% hippie is enough to make one completely hippie.
Rusty wrote: "Nick, can you tell me what "American" means? Apparently we're Anti-American, and if that's the case, my internal lexicon is all wrong.
"
Well... If you are American, and act like an American, then you are anti-American. Do try and act a little more french in the future.

I don't imagine you've ever seen FOX TV, by any chance?

"You think you know me. But you don't know me."

I know but still I'd love to keep my two labels separate: crazy and hippie. If you make those two synonymous and exchangeable - you loose meaning. Call me crazy, call me hippie but make a distinction between those two please!
