NICO… YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT O.o

I believe the point of dating is to see if the person you're dating is the person you want to stay with for the rest of your life. You might like each other at first, and then end up thinking you're better off with out them. It's a trial and error thing. You shouldn't just jump into a relationship without seeing if you like the person first. I believe it's a good idea.

he kissed her on the cheek and told her to give to floary so he can be cloned they wearn't together at the end

You mean which books series?
KANE CHRONICLES SPOILER:
Hmm... I didn't really like the romance in the Kane Chronicles, because they seemed definitely forced. Plus I don't like how Sadie ended up with two people who share a body. That seemed unnecessary and kinda low.

I don't see why it's wrong to kiss, hug, cuddle etc. It isn't unhealthy for you. In fact, it's actually healthy for you. When you love someone you want them to know it and you kiss & cuddle etc to display your love. These are called signs of affection. And people use signs of affection to display love. I don't see anything wrong with it. So what if it's because people do it for pleasure? If it pleases both people, then it's all right. If they both like it, then why should they not do it? It is pleasurable for both and it displays love. Why should love be thought of so much? Love is a feeling you get. It's a tug in your heart. It's not supposed to be just a choice. It CAN be a choice and it usually is but I think love goes way deeper than just a choice. I'm sure you've heard of people saying "butterflies in the stomach" "smiling unconsciously whenever you see them" "a tug in the heart" "a pounding in the heart" etc. These are some of the signs of feelings you get when you love someone. Being selfless for someone is part of love. Displays of affection is also part of love. Love is made up of many parts and it doesn't matter what you do as long as you do it out of love and both people like it. There are also many types of love. Love for family, for friends, for a loved one. I suppose admiration is also love but it is a much weaker form. Just like Nico's admiration for Percy becoming love. He realized that his feelings are much deeper than admiration. So, you want to say that his heart beats for Percy and that is considered admiration? He gets butterflies and that's admiration? No that's love. Admiration is too weak for those signs. Those signs are too deep for it to be mere admiration. That's his admiration becoming love. He loves Percy so much he hates him. That is a really strong love. To love someone so much that you hate them. Not admiration. It's love, love, love. Love is a feeling. Love is a choice. Love is selfless. Love is signs of affection. Love is hate. Love is a cause. Love is an effect. Love is SO much things. To believe that love is just a mere choice, I think it's wrong although I agree partly. Love is a choice when you take actions in the name of the feelings you get. It becomes a choice when you take actions BECAUSE of the feeling you get. So, I believe love is a feeling that becomes a choice. I believe it's a lot of things. Love is love. It's too abstract to dwell upon but it's nice to think about it and to analyze what it really means. And I believe what you say about love being a choice. But that's not all it is.

hey the thing a think he is saying is that sometimes it focus to much on that which is a valid point he doesen't say anything against it but I think he is saying that he thinks that it focus to much on that
Oh yes then I agree that people focus too much on signs of affection. But y'know signs of affection are "signs." People want a sign to know they are loved and kissing, hugging, and cuddling are just ways to display it :)
And thank you :D I was doing my homework. So boring -sighs-

My point was always that love is many things, so that's a straw man.
It is exactly my point that love is MORE than admiration.
What was described from Nico was at best, deep admiration.
Love is admiration, AND a choice to be selfless (maybe without even admiration). Romantic love is even beyond that. It means you choose to be committed to each other forever, thereby giving yourselves more opportunities to be selfless toward each other (like in marriage).
Feelings can begin love, but are not love themselves.
Love can produce feelings, but the feelings are still not love.
What romantic love definitely isn't is mere physical displays of affection tacked onto the same kind of friendship Percy has with Grover and Leo as much as Annabeth.
The attitude of casually kissing and being all touchy feely without seriously knowing you want to get married can be harmful to encourage. Of course this story is fairly corny, but in real life there tend to be consequences for that. In any case, it's not the deepest way to show your affection. It's just a shallow attitude to use each other for that. They're just kids who aren't even going to get married anytime soon.
It's teaching them to love for selfish reasons more than not, since that is what the focus is on (and it is all they can focus on, being too young for marriage).
The things they "do for each other," do not go above and beyond what they would do for their other friends. The kind of things they should do would be things like getting married or starting a family. Again, they are too young.

I usually like anything fantasy or if it's fairly epic, so I would probably like that one. I've read Artemis Fowl. He reminded me of Tom Riddle as a rich muggle, sort of.

Exactly. But that doesn't mean you have to be in romantic relationships with them.

Yeah Brown I definitely agree with the fact that feelings begin love. You're right, love is not a feeling. Only the feelings that you get can begin a love.
Niecy wrote: "@Brown. You're still not getting it. But you are putting out a strong argument. But really. The love between grover and percy and percy and annabeth is wayyyyyyyyyyy different."
Because the author tells us this. But does he show us? I'd say not, unless making them put their lips together magically makes everything different.
If you have real examples of the differences, can you tell me what they are.

Exactly. But what I mean is that is what we do in a relationship. Athena meets with the brains and everyone else loves simply because they find a mortal who they find interesting and they start dating. They grow fond of each other and they have a kid. It is kind of like real life.

Maybe I'm a girl you never know >/////>
LOL Kevin. XD My gender detecting cells say that you are a guy. XD Or are you..? o_o

You don't have to apologize for anything. Just be polite and state your reasons/opinions. It's a war zone,so I'm just waiting for certain people to explode and then we can have a tea party just you and me. But world war III hasn't started (yet) so we have to wait.

Hey, I'm the one that is waiting for WWIII.
Hey Kevin I finally finished the books I'm reading and I started on WOK. I read the prologue and the first chapter about Szeth and the king. It was really interesting and I loved the fight between them (I think Szeth is bada**) but it was also very confusing with the powers like Lashing and Stormlight. Can you explain it to me?

Even in real life, lots of relationships that people get in aren't necessarily good. It's about commitment, not just being fond of each other. Basing relationships on only the pleasurable parts isn't what it's about. I know it's accepted in our society if it's "not hurting anyone," but ultimately it's landed us with a shallow, watered down version of what love is supposed to be. That attitude IS reflected in society if you look at divorce rates, etc (I mean, 50% of marriages end in divorce). It's ridiculous, and it starts here: where we expect to get in relationships only for fun.
Yeah, I know "you're one of those people who thinks teenagers shouldn't date???" Well, I guess I am.
It's a shallow waste of time, and I don't know when love got so watered down, or in the first place why we have to put up with mushy soap operas when we just want to read about an adventure, as if having a significant other is a huge priority.
Let's just shut up about romance and enjoy being kids, why don't we?
If we're not gonna get married, it's just a mushy waste of time. No wonder it's so easy for people to make fun of romance. It IS stupid when we treat it like this.

No, it's not about opinions on how much they care about each other. I think even if they do, there's no reason to get in a relationship if they're not planning to get married and they're just kids.

No they weren't? HE kissed Holly(be it when she was a teenager and got the old hormones raging) and wanted to be with her... but the inter-species thing would not work out. Artemis would literally kill Holly if they married and tried to make a baby.
