Introduce Yourself to the Group!

I was in a book club back in high school and loved it! Me and a couple friends were even talking about starting one of our own up. Book clubs are such a wonderful experience.
And I like your ideas, I've heard variations of reading challenges, perhaps I shall try a few of these myself at some point.

The link worked great, and there are some pretty cool ideas on the list.

I started some challenges last year but family and work got in the way and I could not finish. For this year I thought this challenge interesting.
I love mysteries the most but also read romance or everything else. Books set in Scotland are high on my list.

I've just started (well, October) a book blog called Clair Reads. I'd love people to take a look :)

I'm 25, a primary school teacher in London, and I love most types of books. My favourite are urban fantasies, so I'd love recommendations.

Welcome to all of you, I hope you enjoy this group as much as I do.

first question-are we all reading something different or is there a list of books we are reading as a group??
Hi I'm April. I have always loved to read, but as I've gotten older have found it more challenging to find the time. Hoping to find more time to read this year.

Then we have Buddy Reads. People post books that they want to read, and other members will decide to read it together. Sometimes that will be just a few people, and other times there may be a lot of folks joining in.
And we also do TBR twins, when two members are paired up and they pick a book that they both have on their to-read shelf.
Lots of opportunities to read with others and share your thoughts!

I joined the reading challenge because I love to make lists and completing them in different domains of my life, and I thought I'd give it a try in my readings too.
You guys seem so nice, it's very welcoming =)

sounds like a good way to get to know people and get input on books. My challenge this year is to read 24 so I think I'm going to try this Book of Strange New Things...my challenge is also to try participate in discussions more! Thanks fo the info!

I do read a lot(i belive more than average estonian)- mostly in estonian (we have good authors and translators). Now I hear about 50(52) book challenge and descided to took part of it :) Seems challenge enough. I mostly read sci-fi and fantasy and lots of technical stuff for work related activities. So, i hope to read more different books this year.

I have loved books since I can remember and although reading is one of my favourite past times, I find that I don't get lost in a good book half as much as I'd like to. So this year, as part of a New Year's Resolution, I decided to start my first ever book challenge, after finding out about Goodread's Challenges and seeing how lovely and supportive everyone is on here, as it'll hopefully keep me on track. I like to read a whole host of genres and am always open to book suggestions, if you have any? :)

I'm Ariane and you can call me Yan. I'm 19 from the PH. Just like anyone here, I love reading. I'm looking forward to connect with you all :)
Have a great day, everyone! xxx

I read mostly crime books but last year I started venturing into different genres, although I draw the line at romance haha. I'll be doing the same this year and might set myself some sort of challenge. I tend to take it turn about between reading an actual real life book with pages and my kindle but things dont always go to plan!

Have a great day and an awesome year!

Hi Robyn! I live in McKinney and I think I have driven through Saginaw before. I don't believe it is too far from me! My friend tells me she was the same way about paperbacks and that the Kindle paperwhite is just like a book. I have looked it up and have went back and forth on if I wanted to get one or not but I couldn't make myself buy it. But she says the same thing as you though so maybe one day I will make that transition. :)
