I'm reading ebooks and in most cases they don't have covers at all (they have those generic things). Do I go by that (it'll be hard to choose 2 books ☺) or by covers GR says they have?

For generic eBook covers, I'd go by the other ones.

Well it's hard to guess what'll intimidate you. ☺
In my case it would be Stephen King (I kind like to sleep and his books interfere with that ☺).
Maybe something classic? And I don't think Pride&Prejudice kind of classic. ☺
Or start of huge series? When this challenge started I thought I could use The Game of Thrones for that one (I've read it so now I need something else).
Or book your friends didn't like very much but still has 4+ stars on GR?
Something that'll make you cry? (I'll probably go with that option ☺)
Or next book in series where you gave 1 or 2 stars for previous book or even DNFed it?

I've put it here because I heard different things from different people. Some liked it, some didn't.
I've left spot open in 'everybody read it' so if I don't read it as 'intimidating' it's going there. See, it's going to be read in any case. (it's been to long on my reader) ☺
