Renee (rjmiller) What does what have to do with hotels? I was talking about making the bed.
Deodorant? Did she need it? was it a stinky bed?

message 452: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments no her feet! She has these horribly ripe feet!

message 453: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) She needs to put cornstarch in her shoes. Absorb the sweat and the nasty. I make Kurt do it, and it's much more tolerable. Or she needs to wear socks.

message 454: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments sorry i was talking about the vommit from daisy

message 455: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh, how do we do this multiple conversation thing all the time, yet we cannot get our shit together enough to organize our work/home/writing dilemmas?

message 456: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments right.

message 457: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments and thats just on one thread, right now i think the four of us are no three threads having atleast 5 conversations.

message 458: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol I know it happens!

message 459: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) This is what I'm saying!! How is this possible? And I can't find my glasses every freaking day. I don't know why, probably cause I can't see the buggers. I squint and look at every surface with my nose nearly touching it, like I'm trying to smell them out. Then my kids take pity on me and find them.

I should just go straight to the contacts, I always know where they are. But my eyes are so burny in the morning, I don't like putting them in.

message 460: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm sorry Renee

message 461: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments i always have to splash water in my eyes first. then its ok.

message 462: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Sorry for what Annie? that I'm so blind I can't find my glasses? I really should leave them in one spot all the time, but I just forget.

message 463: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, sorry that you can't see. I can, kinda. I guess. :D

message 464: by Rita (new)

Rita Webb (ritawebb) After an evening of friendliness, there's no covers left on the bed anyway. You'd just have to remake it. Why bother in the first place?

message 465: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) hear hear Rita. Bed making is wasted effort.

message 466: by Rita (new)

Rita Webb (ritawebb) So says the woman with 5 children!

message 467: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Like I said- it's a waste of time to make the thing.

message 468: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol who knew conversations about bed making can be so interesting?

Wait..are they really interesting or am I just dying of boredom?

message 469: by [deleted user] (new)

My bed's already made . . . speaking of which I'm going to crimp my hair today.

message 470: by [deleted user] (new)

wow bed making and hair had absolutely nothing to do with each other.

message 471: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Unless you crimp your hair in bed. My hair is pretty crimped after sleeping.

message 472: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) that's not crimping, Renee- that's dog drool that has dried and been fanned by spouse farts all night. The bad taste in your mouth- you don't wanna know. Just brush your teeth well each morning.

message 473: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments wow... ok... well i will say this about bed making, when my bed is made it somehow makes my room look bigger, i think it has something to do with the vertical stripes on my bedspread. its just so slimming.

message 474: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Mine has stripes too but the room is still small. Nothing changes that. Could be because I have a camp bed, a playpen, a spare mattress and my own bed in there. maybe. Hey, it's the quietest room for nap time, I need the extra sleeping spaces for the kids. You'd think the dogs would want one of those beds all to themselves, but no, under my feet and against my back is where they have to be.

message 475: by [deleted user] (new)

Mine has squares . . . and it's purple . . . it doesn't make the room look bigger at all.

message 476: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Maybe if you made the bed it might. Maybe there is something to Lauren's theory.

message 477: by [deleted user] (new)

I do make it everyday actually . . . hmm, maybe she is right.

message 478: by Gwendolyn (new)

Gwendolyn (drgwen) Lauren wrote: "wow... ok... well i will say this about bed making, when my bed is made it somehow makes my room look bigger, i think it has something to do with the vertical stripes on my bedspread. its just so ..."

I can't stand to start the day until the bed is made and the curtains are opened...

For that matter I can't go to bed with a dirty kitchen either.

Don't know why other than it seems depressing to look at a 'tossed' room.

message 479: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I would drive you nuts Gwen. Not only do I rarely make beds, I can leave a dirty kitchen and often do. I go to bed and clean it all up in the morning, I don't know why. Maybe because my Mom was really anal about the kitchen, I'm being rebillious by leaving it messy. Who knows.

message 480: by Renee (last edited Jul 20, 2009 08:12PM) (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Ahh, it's been so long. I'm sorry I've neglected you brain. I've been so very busy. I was writing though, honest I was. Friday I wrote 2420 words. That was a good day, although I wrote it after midnight. Tired on Saturday.

The rest of the weekend I forgot to total my words, just wrote and left, wrote and left. So I've added Sat, Sun, and today together. The grand total?

It was so very close, I almost didn't carry the one, and thought I lost. But I got out the calculator and the count for the weekend is 6069 words. Yay me.

Total 2009=245,789
Total July=41,709

message 481: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) I think our bet was confusing. THis was my post:
"any bets on how big it is for the weekend? I bet it's over 6000."

And Renee also said that she thought she was over that- soooo... we both win?

My buddy gave me the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King- I suppose that would count as scary, right? It's on my list of to-reads.

But reading anything from B is against my principles. I'm busy pretending B doesn't exist.

Whaddya think?

message 482: by Lauren (last edited Jul 20, 2009 10:03PM) (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments whose B?

oh B, so drunk and confused, but yeah, no thank you, i don't think i have ever been self loathing or on enough drugs to warrant a true understanding or appreciation for what B writes. although we could be wrong and it could be brilliant literature that is a call back to Jane Austen or it could be self indulgent garbage. It's hard to call.

message 483: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I was just kidding Wendy, you'd have to scrape your corneas after that read. Did I spell cornea right? Hmm...anyway, I just made it over, so you owe me nothing kay?
Lauren, you're funny. Brilliant literature, sure.

message 484: by Rita (new)

Rita Webb (ritawebb) I've read and reread and scanned and rescanned this conversation.

SO WHO IS B?

message 485: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Who would you like B to be? Could be any of us really, I'll say um...Wendy today. Nah, she could never be B. Okay, it's my alter ego, my mini me. The me I am when I'm not being a nice person.

message 486: by [deleted user] (new)

Feels like me right now . . .

message 487: by [deleted user] (new)

Where's my alter ego?

message 488: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) **drags in two bodies, one woman, one man, both obviously stuffed and molded into furniturelike shapes. Sets one at table, one at the door.**

I don't know about alter egos, we'll have to think up some for everyone. How about that? What's the dark side of you that comes out only now and then to scare the pants off family and friends? Or in my case, as well as Lauren's and paul's, what's the bright side that seldom sees the light of day. we need to name it.

Oh yeah, meet Dave, he's a coach for some kid's baseball team. I can't say who, but he pissed me off enough to make himself a hatrack. He's tall, it works. This lovely lady here is Chrystal, she's my new chair, let's just say she really pissed me off. We won't get into details, they're irrelevant now. Her long body makes a good chair. She's happy now, really she is. She was very miserable before. Never a complaint from her anymore.

My word count today, I remembered to check it. 2978 words. I'm back on track.

Total July=44,687

2009=248,767

Tell my mom that.

message 490: by [deleted user] (new)

lol

Awesome word count Renee. My story doesn't even have that many words . . .

message 491: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I try to write shorts, I really want to, but i get carried away. Before i know it I'm plugging away at a full length book. It's not good, not when you want a few shorts here and there. how do I stop doing that? I don't even finish some, I get 10000 words or so and stop.

Oh, I'm up to 34,000 on my recent one, and a new one I started today is nearly 3000 words.
As far as I'm concerned Annie, a story is a story be it 10 words or 10000, it's still takes skill and imagination to create.
Many successful authors only write short stories, consider that. There is an art to doing it properly, I haven't mastered it. I like words too much, and characters. i love my characters. My new one is named Joy, working title KillJoy. or Kill Joy. Something like that. Kind of neat, she's anything but joyful by the way. She's a bitch. We're glad to see bad things happen to her, and they do.

message 492: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) nice furnature Renee. You needed a blond in here- have you had blonds before? I forget what color hair Eustance had- I was too busy getting creaped out by him.

message 493: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments Good work, Renee!

message 494: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Why no Wendy, I've never had a blond here. She looked nice doesn't she? I've brought some lawn chairs in case people are uncomfortable about sitting on dead people.

message 495: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments *shoots dead blonde a furtive look and sits on lawn chair*

message 496: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) don't think of her as a dead body, think of her as art. I'm pretty sure these ones won't get up and walk around like the others.

message 497: by [deleted user] (new)

:D

message 498: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments ok that made me think of a series of really bad jokes we told as kids.

what do you call a guy with no arms and no legs who hangs on your wall?

art.

what do you call a guy with no arms and no legs on your doorstep?

matt

what do you call a girl with no arms and no legs at the beach?

sandy.

i will stop now.

message 499: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I never thought of hanging them on the walls...possibilities.

Oh, I had the best inspiration today, since my headache finally vanished thanks to advil cold and sinus by the truckload. Yep, feeling fine, a little woozy but fine.

I can't wait until I have more than ten minutes, I changed the entire plot outline for Rowan, went in a new direction, and its going to be great. BIG twist, then the one I started yesterday, Joy, that one I have big ideas for. I had to write everything down, cause this has happened before, I knew where I was going with a few things and i didn't write it down, then I got stumped 3/4 of the way through. Not now. I'm really excited about Rowan. I'm thinking of calling it Bayou Baby or Swamp Rat, Bayou Baby has a better ring to it though.

message 500: by Renee (last edited Jul 22, 2009 07:07PM) (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Okay, who put the tiara on Chrystal? She's going to get a big head you know. She's a chair, not a princess. Jeepers.

I got a nice even number today, even checked twice to make sure. 2500 words today. Yay me. Even with all the little buggers running around. I wrote at 5am that's the key.
