Wow, it's hot. Good morning Eustace how's it hanging. Oh my, you are sweating the shellac right off you. Dead guys aren't supposed to sweat you know. Oh and Bucky, are you melting? No, you can't be. I guess I should put the air conditioning in here soon. I'll have to or you guys will be a puddle on the floor. I need to get some work done first, then I'll see about cooling you guys off. Or maybe I should do that now, you're kind of smelling a little funny.Happiness Hills is done for now. I'm moving along to my other projects. 2104 words yesterday. Not bad. I can do better. No kids but my own today so once the house is cleaned up I should get lots done.

Hey, guess what...I'm over 6000 words already today. Isn't that amazing. It's what happens when I leave a story for a while. The voices pile up until it just pours out of me. I might finish GAWI this weekend. I am so excited. Anyway, that's all for now. The kids want to go for a walk, and it's going to rain soon. I hope.
Man, it stinks in here. A bunch of dead bodies and all this heat--one bad combination. *opens some windows*

Thanks, I brought the air conditioner. Things should smell better soon. Is it just me or does Bucky's face look kind of lopsided? Like his eye is moving down or something. Hmmm...may have to take him over to Wendy's farm to enjoy the bonfire. I can't have my bodies around if they are going to decompose like that. I'll shellac him one more time and see what happens.I'm pretty excited about that word count. Wait until the end of the day, I'm still writing.
I'm being forced to take a break with my girls. We need to take the ferret for a walk and get Friday night movies and snacks. I did clean the house, nap with Kennedy, and make supper. It's not like I've been glued to this computer. But her majesties have spoken. So, in case I don't get back to the story, i hope i do because I'm on a really good roll, today's word count is 8597 words. All of that is in GAWI. It's nearly finished, maybe another 20,000 or so words and it should be done. I'm estimating based on chapters left and average number of words in previous chapters. To finish a first draft so quickly is amazing to me. Setting this goal of so many words each day is brilliant. I'm so glad I found you guys. Now, off to walk to Daisy Mart with the ferret.
8597? That is absolutely amazing.Is 'ferret' some sort of Canadian nickname for Labrador, or German Shepherd or something? I've never seen anyone take a real ferret for a walk.
A ferret is a small rodent-like animal that is part of the weasel family. They like to poop in corners, chase balls and polly pocket toys, and snuggle in warm dark holes. They are very much like my husband actually.Seriously though, Bandit (the ferret) loves to go for walks. He is precious, his little legs just pumping to keep up with us. He likes to dig up flowerbeds though, so we have to watch him.
I am so proud of that word count. I'm doing more today, I did some last night,but I'll just include it in today's, I think I wrote a little over 500 words when we got back.

Yesterday I wrote 6706 words. Holy cow!! I would have written more but I got tired and had a nap and it was downhill from there.

8529 words today, total so far = 200,455 words.But that isn't the best part. Getting Away With It; The Legend of Jackson Murphy, is done. Complete. Rough draft of course. But it is finished. I'm sad he's no longer going to be a part of my day.

No longer part of your day? Not true. Editing is just as much effort as writing the rough draft, if not more so. And then you know, he'll haunt you when you least expect it. You did ruin his life you know--killed off his wife with bees. What else? I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it.
I finished the first edit. After reading through it I love it even more. I'm going to work on synopsis, and blurb for it tonight. I am so excited about this one. Jack is the best character ever. You love him and you hate him all at once. You're rooting for him at the end too, or I was.When I get it back from my first few readers, I'll let some of you look at it too, if you want. I think it's too much for Goodreads. I'd have to delete more scenes as i did already. You really need those scenes to fully appreciate Jack.
I know, I'm so pleased with myself. It sounds snotty and conceited, but I don't care. Today I'm the awesomest person I know. Tomorrow, maybe not.

I suppose a little head swelling is in order since you have all these inhuman word counts and all. And this is your, what, fourth book this year? Wow!
Oh no, not my fourth this year. I've done two children books, but they don't really count as they are picture books and take very little time. I finished Once Bitten, though the bulk of it was written at the end of 2008, and then I've finished GAWI, so that's like two this year. I've started four though.
My head is no longer as large as it was yesterday, I'm coming down and anxiously awaiting your reviews.
I still managed 1058 words yesterday. I had to do something. i was getting way too conceited. A little struggling to create a new story is enough to bring a girl back down to earth. I don't have the baby today or tomorrow so I might be able to get a big chunk of Rowan done. I decided that to write about voodoo believably you need to have some working knowlege of it. I do not, so I'm still using it, but it will not be the focus of the story as I originally intended. Rowan will use it from time to time, but it will be limited to one spirit Damballah, who has taken a liking to her. This is apparently not unheard of from this spirit who has on occasion taken 'human' wives.
The horror begins when she finally 'accepts' him into her body and along with him, the dark power he represents. Then she is a one woman revenge machine. Oh the things she will do to her abusers. It should be great fun.

Renee, you could write as though Rowan doesn't know a thing about voodoo. She could just be playing around with things she has no clue about. Playing with fire so to speak. You don't need to be a trained pyro to light a few matches. Maybe she's read a few witch books--more novels than anything. Maybe there are some real witches that are watching her and she doesn't know it. Maybe this spirit thinks she's ripe for the picking and she doesn't even know what kind of danger she is in. So it starts as horror for others as she gets her revenge and then turns into her own personal horror story when she finds out she can't get out. When I was in high school, kids messed around with pentagrams and black candles and upside-down crosses. That didn't mean they knew what they were doing.
That's sort of what I'm doing Rita, she has a basic knowlege that an old woman she befriends has shown her. She knows there is a spirit, or a 'Loa' that has shown a fondness for her. So she calls him to her, using the basic skills she has. The problem with that is that there is always something required in return. In this particular case, this Loa requires use of the person's body whenever he chooses, or basically their soul. So I think I can work with that. If not I'll scratch it all and just have ger go on a rampage. Either way, it can be scary.
And no Paul, I do not have experience in revenge. I don't know what you're talking about. I'd never harm another person. Well, almost never.

Thanks Rita, I'm looking forward to seeing how I handle it too. I thought of just 'writing' it as I've done others and seeing where it goes. Then adding what I need to later. Could be interesting.
I have been neglecting this place. Really need to redecorate. Don't worry guys, you'll stay. I might paint or something. Perhaps I'll give Miguel a call. Eustace, don't look so glum. You know you're still my favorite. Miguel isn't going to take your place. I need to see to the prisoners. It's too quiet down there.I'm slowly plugging away at Rowan, while thinking of a synopsis for GAWI. It's the worst part, the synopsis. I want to write it all, but there's only room for a page or two. Frustrating.
1641 words yesterday. I'm not counting what I wrote for my synopsis, because i didn't keep it. That brings my total words for 2009, along with monday's word count, to 203,154 words.

REally? My usual average is between 1500 and 2000. That's not much is it? I don't think so, it's like 4 pages or something. but going with my superhero theme this week, I'll say thanks little lady, and perhaps one day, if you drink milk and grow strong, you too can be a writing superhero. Just you wait until I get this baby published, Then i'll get the costume too. Hell, costumes for everyone. A superhero party in my brain. fun times.

But it was Canada Day, and I had to go do the parade and park thing with the girls. Today I have nine kids here, so we'll see what happens. God, I love summer.

If you send to an agent at a time, you could be dead of old age before anything gets accepted. They tend to take three months before responding. What you have to do is send something to say half a dozen agents at once. Mention that fact in your covering letter, and say 'first come, first served...'It may well be that the fear of missing out on something good, letting the manuscript go to a rival, may tip the scales in your favour.

I'm really bored and I wondered what would happen if I left a baby at Paul's place. So that's what I'm going to do! It's a robot but a very sophisticated robot that with the help of magic can do all that a human baby can do as well as grow up. I haven't created multiples for fear of a Rozen Maiden reaction. Which has happened before when multiple dolls have been created with magic.My great great grandmother made multiples of these dolls and they will kill anything and anyone denying the dolls of attention from there orderer.

So, yesterday, again, I was shy of my 2000 words. 1143, is what I got. I'm happy with it, but I know I can write more. Maybe today.
Man I need to step up my game, and get some writing done. On Saturday I wrote 1873 words. Not all of them were usable. I was outlining a story. But I'll count them since i did write them and not much else. Sunday's count is much better 2838 words. I'm keeping a count of my July words here so I don't have to add it all up later.
So Total for 2009 so far=210,186 words
Total July=7032 words.
