Something I learned today.
That I like Matt Costa songs, thanks Nools.
I learned that I can't go two full days without a diet coke (and I confirmed over the weekend, once again, that I should not drink it after 11am... muchless 7 of them).
my tolerance level for technology problems is decreasing more and more. if a text or email on my phone takes longer than 1 second to send i am like"what the heck is going on!!!" and if my satellite radio in the truck blinks for a moment under the canopy while getting gas i get perturbed. our internet is glitchy today at work and my BP is going up.
i need some technology free time
Glad you like him, Jim!I learned that if you don't bring your cellphone charger with you, there is suddenly a marvelous and relieving excuse to not answer your phone.
"i need some technology free time""a marvelous and relieving excuse to not answer your phone"
Yes indeed, cutting that techno-umbilical cord is def freeing at times and a sheer necessity!
I learned today that sometimes I need to let my ultra-conservative Dad talk about conservative politics and I don't have to try to correct his thinking. I can let him say his piece, and simply say, "Well, I can see your viewpoint and why you feel that's important, even if I don't agree with the solution" and leave it at that. Much less strife results.
Oh! And I learned that the word spa is short for salus per acquum (Latin), which means health through water. I love that! (I've been channeling my inner Italian lately)
What I learned yesterday: Some of the best, cheapest Mexican food can be found in, of all places, Yakima, WA.
Ha! Well the population of Mexicans there is a bit overwhelming, so it doesn't surprise me that they brought the food of their culture with them.
Would you agree that this is meaningless to someone who has never been to Palm Springs?[image error]
Why in the name of all things holy is the local football team called the Yakima Bears, when they have the world's coolest woolly mammal right there in their name?
DAAAAHHHHH!!!! OMG! HE'S SO FRIGGIN ADORABLE, I COULD JUST SQUEEZE HIM (And if he hissed at me, that'd be cute, too)!
I just learned that on GR now you can follow people you're not even friends with. It makes cyber-stalking so much easier!
so if someone had issue with the Yakima mascot he could say [in the voice of Inspector Clouseau:]"I demur to the lemur"
I've thought about you as I opened the last few yogurts lately, RA. You still remembering to do what you learned yesterday?
It's great to be supplied with the answer to a question I hadn't bothered to ask. Also, I can now tell my kids how far they have to run if they get chased by bees.
I was just reading about Chestnut Honey and I was wondering if it was real honey where the bees drank from chestnut trees, or honey somehow made from/with chestnuts. Hmmm..... either way it sounds yummy.
I had honey from chestnut blossoms in Italy last summer, we bought some at a local honey/beeswax shop. I am here to tell you that was divine. The very best I've ever tasted.
That's exactly where I was just reading it, Jessica. I guess Tuscany is famous for their chestnut trees. Oh man, dreaming of a little villa in Tuscany... (sigh)
I was in Umbria, which is right next door to Tuscany. Same beautiful landscape, less tourists ;-)(though if I remember rightly, Umbria is the one province in Italy without a coastline).

Well, actually, I learned that a while ago, in theory, as I squirted yogurt all over myself a dozen times, but I just started putting what I learned into practice today.
And what did you learn today?
