Susan (Suz) (sharney) I agree Elvia! It's a good series tho, I love it..... Let us know what you think of it Anne!

message 102: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Anne, I just started Marked today... I like it so far. Much better than the YA book that I just finished, Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow.

message 103: by Anne (new)

Anne You guys were right! I finished it last night. Total brain candy! What did you think of it, Theresa? I'm definately going to keep reading this series. Evermore is waiting for me at the library, so I guess I'll start that tonight.

LilMisGrayBrisk I'm currently reading Succubus Heat by Richelle Mead.

message 105: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I am in the process of reading the 4th in the House of Night Series. It's a BIT annoying in the "teen speak" but it's still a good story so far. I didn't realize teens talked that way today...I guess I'm older than I thought! lol

message 107: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I finished book 4 and loved the ending! Good quick read - those kind of books are fillers till I get my usual authors books in lol.
I'm now reading Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs. So glad I tried this series again.

message 108: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (omgitswendy) | 8 comments I just finished Can't Stand the Heat by Louisa Edwards and oooh, boy, it was awesome!

Next: Demon Inside by Stacia Kane, I can't wait to read this one.

Elvia (elvb) I found Odd Thomas and Forever Odd at a yard sale for FREE! I took them right away since I had heard about them here. I am going to read them AFTER I shorten my library list...lol.
Anyway, I'm reading Bloodlist because I can't find Blood Bound!! I am halfway thru so as soon as I'm done I'll start my search for Blood Bound again...it's somewhere in my house.

message 116: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) Thats awesome Elvia that you found the first two in the Odd Thomas series for free! Lucky Girl

Go for Cat & Bones! I really liked it!

message 121: by Melissa (new)

Melissa O.K. I'll read that one first! I was leaning that way anyways because I've missed Bones. I just know I'll be sorry when I'm done and have to wait awhile for another dose.

message 123: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Destined for an Early Grave was the best one yet!!!! So sad it's over and now I've got to wait, but boy, it was good.

Guess I'll start Thorn Queen.

message 129: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Anne, I didn't really care for Marked. I can see why people DO like it, I'm just not one of them. Oh, well, one less series to follow. :)

message 130: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) Theresa wrote: "Anne, I didn't really care for Marked. I can see why people DO like it, I'm just not one of them. Oh, well, one less series to follow. :)"

Theresa, you are not alone on that one. I detested MARKED. My niece has been insisting I give the series another chance and read the 2nd one, but so far have not been able to bring myself to do it.

message 131: by Anne (new)

Anne Theresa wrote: "Anne, I didn't really care for Marked. I can see why people DO like it, I'm just not one of them. Oh, well, one less series to follow. :)"

I'm following too many myself! I think the House of Night series is going to go into my second-string catagory. I have several series that I LIKE, but don't LOVE. House of Night goes into the LIKE catagory. I enjoy reading them, but I don't really rush out to get the next one.
I'm reading Evermore right now. I got halfway through it, and then we left and went on vacation. I should have brought it with me, but it is a library book and I didn't want ot lose it! We just got back last night, and I can't wait to finish it!

I really liked EVERMORE. Didn't like BLUE MOON, the 2nd in the series.

message 133: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I too am following way too many series! I'm glad I've caught up with most of them so I have to wait for the next in the series.
I just finished two books from Christopher Moore, Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck: A Love Story. (my daughter thought the cover for You Suck was hilarious).
I am now reading Strange Brew.

Loved the Chris Moore books! I was disappointed with STRANGE BREW. Only really liked a couple of stories.

message 135: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I have only gotten thru the first story in Strange Brew and that was disappointing. I'm hoping the others are good - at least Jim Butcher's (love him). Either way, it's a good thing I have 8 other books at home to read from the library. I have until 8/20 to finish them all. yikes

message 136: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) The Jim Butcher was one of the ones I really liked!

message 137: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Right now I'm reading Branded by Fire by Nalini Singh. I really love Singh's work and this one is right up there with my other favorites by her so far. I love Mercy and Riley... and, of course, my all time favorite hero, Lucas, has been showing up quite a bit in this book.

message 138: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Just finished the 4th Night Huntress book and started Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz. Still in world-building phase.

message 139: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 179 comments Reading Thorn Queen, which is the follow-up to Mead's Storm Born. Living up to positive expectations so far.

message 140: by Anne (new)

Anne I finished Evermore. I loved the first 90% of the book, but the last 10% disappointed me.
I'm starting Dead and Gone, by Charline Harris. I've been waiting for this book to come in at the library for about two months!

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) Currently reading A Kiss Before the Apocalypse. At first I thought "Oh goodie, another Dresden knock-off" - but the empathy of the main character and his relationship with the dog has hooked me.

message 142: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Lynda, what did you think of Destined for an Early Grave? I have it in my TBR pile, but haven't started it yet.

Hey Jessica, Really!? So far I'm really underwhelmed!:( I'm almost 300 pages in and I'm like really when is SOMETHING going to happen... I hope it picks up soon.....

message 147: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Theresa wrote: "Lynda, what did you think of Destined for an Early Grave? I have it in my TBR pile, but haven't started it yet."

I really liked it. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and action, but it was probably the best of the series so far.

message 148: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Finished Blue Bloods and am currently reading Masquerade. Liked Blue Bloods and find I like Masquerade, so far, even better.

message 149: by Elvia (new)
