Series Read: The Dresden Files - Jim Butcher
Margaret wrote: "Me too RachelvlehcaR - just waiting on my copy from the library :)"I'll hold off until you get your copy. Then we can start together. This is a re-read for me but I can't remember much of it other than the atmosphere and humor of it. It will be a great refresher.
@Justin, I too want to read the series. I've only read the first one but it was years ago.
I listened to the audiobook of the first one but would like to read the book. Ready to start whenever you guys are ready.
Book: White Night (#9)Chapters 25-end
(view spoiler)
Overall I liked it but the books are starting to get harder to follow since they're getting more and more complex with all the history from previous books. 4 Stars.
I need to reread all of these. I've read books one and two twice, and the rest just once. I loved them all so much. You have so much more coming, Kelly. I'm so jealous of you first time readers :D
So I've already started re-reading the first book. Sorry for jumping the gun :)Looking forward to discussing with you all soon!

I haven't re-read a book in so long now. I have a to-read list a mile long. There's too many good books out there.
Did you like the TV Show?

Tsk Tsk, Impatient Man! :P
I'm going to start on the 5th like we planned. I'm looking forward to it.
I've not watched the show yet. At the time, I started it and decided to read the books first. That was years ago and I just read the books in 2013-2014, and then have been in reading mode and not watching mode lol

I liked it quite a bit. I was sad when they stopped it.
:)A few episodes claim their free in imdb. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486657/e...
Not sure how well they work.
It used to be on Netflix... I'll have to check and see. I will also check my Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime! :D
Halfway through rereading the first book. Such a fun read. I really like the pulpy, dark fantasy style, and Dresden is a great protagonist.
I had classes start today so I haven't gotten to start yet but I will be starting tonight after I work through my massive mountain of goodreads emails (I'm sure you all know how that is...lol)

I'm reading this now, Kelly. I'm at the part (view spoiler)
I've started Grave Peril (Book 3). I almost stopped after the second book again because it was tough to finish, but this one is a big improvement.
Prepare yourself. The end of book three is good but rough. Book four is where the series starts to really pick up!

Maybe a current state of affairs pre-section to the book :P I have a hard time keeping track of who's at war with whom.

I have the next one checked out but I need to get some other books wrapped up first. Trying to be better about how many books I have active heh.

The teacher thing ends up being neat. I read the next book so far and it's still a bit on the backburner but I hear it picks up a lot in the later books.
I finished
a while ago but I've been waiting for
from my library for a few weeks. I'm sure it will come in soon and I'll start it then.

Oh, that's nice to hear. :)
(book 11)I'm at the end of Chapter 35 (63%) and I'm really loving this one. It is back to classic Dresden character development.

I've got my husband started on Storm Front which is a bit exciting that I'll have someone else to discuss the series with :)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Hey,it is a bit short termed but a friend and I are planning to start the Dresden Files on the 15th March and I wanted to know if there is anyone willing to join (and with that help me to fulfil part of a Novel-Roleplay Quest) ^^
#1Reminds me of Kim Harrison's The Hollows series. I've heard this wasn't the best book in the series, so I'm looking forward to the rest, because 1/4 into the book, I'm liking it.

Are you listening to the audio or reading a copy Marla?
I liked the first few books, but it really does step up a notch after that so I do understand people that are a bit "take it or leave it" after the first book
