Great :) I'm up to chapter 14 and I am really enjoying it.
@Kristie - I just love Butters in this book!!

White Night
Just finished chapter 15
I am loving this book. Best in the series for me so far. I think because we have a touch of Polka, some ex-girlfriends, further character development with Harry having an apprentice etc. But mostly I'm totally into the mystery which (for once) is not tied to Harry being put into an impossible you-will-die scenario. Of course, I'm sure Butcher will do that to him as he always does, but I'm enjoying the back-to-basics PI storyline (Dresden style).
Anyone else pick up that Harry has spoken directly to the reader so far (2 occasions in this book). I don't recall that happening in previous books

I found this one too full of fighting and I'm sure that suits some people, but I was a bit disappointed as I really liked the last few books which have focussed more on character development. There were some interesting ideas introduced at the end (like a new love interest!) so I am keen to see how this translates into book 11

That has been one of my favourites :)

Oh I think that is my favourite book of the ones I've read so far. Butters is awesome! Also this book was nowhere near as exhausting as the others, and you're right, the development and understanding of Harry's character goes up a notch

Books 7 and 9 are my favourite so far. (8 is pretty good too)
I felt they were more about character development and mystery rather than the usual storyline of Harry being killed by 300 impossible-to-kill creatures (I may exaggerate, but you know what I mean!) I've always been much more interested in the characters and world-building than the fighting and I think these books do that very well (Although I've not quite finished the series that is available to date, I am up to book 11)

Five? Huh, they must have been *really* memorable cause I don't even remember them. *grins*

The main things that really struck me about that book were the vampires and Marcone.

(view spoiler)
I've always felt like they're one of the most creative villains I've read about.

Also, may I please pet Mouse?

@Nicole: Sorry! But you could still catch up? :)

Wait, are we talking the same thing here? I was talking about three different books in the series. Books #5, #10, and #15 -- the multiples of five -- all have the Denarians in them.
@Saphirablue
I agree with all your comments. Thomas has become one of my favourite characters and I love the development of the relationship between him and Harry
And of course... Polka Never Dies ;)

@Kelly
There are a few of us here who will chime in that have read it before. I think we are all at slightly different points in the series

I've just read Fool Moon
Matthew where have you got to with it? Would be happy to share my thoughts given that I'm at a similar stage in the series.
I listened to the 1st book over a year ago and wasn't that taken with it *ducks behind something and waits for the outrage*
This one grabbed me a bit more, but I'm still not utterly engrossed in the series.
The relationship between Dresden and Marcone entertains me! (view spoiler)
My brain got a little scrambled trying to remember all of the love interests (I mean female characters...) (view spoiler) Is there a female in the series that there hasn't been some sexual tension with?!?
Would love to be able to see the magic circles. I picture them something like:

No worries! It took me til book 4 to start liking the books and only with book 6 I started to really like them. :) (and this has been the same for a few friends who read the series long before me)

Nope. Not that I can tell. :/ (Mind you, I'm only up to book 7.)
Marcone is a very interesting character. :) (That's all I'm saying because of stuff happening of which I'm not sure anymore in which book it happens and before I accidently spoil you...)

This was the most problematic aspect of the early books in the series for me. In fact, if I hadn't been doing a BR of the series, I might have called it quits after book #3 for precisely this reason. Nevertheless, it improves from book #4.
@ Lauren I'm glad it improves! Will carry on with the series for another few books to see if I agree. Lots of people seem to think book 4 is the turning point.

Chapters 1-11
Favorite quote so far: "but corpses are inherently icky, even if they aren't animated and trying to kill you."
(view spoiler)

Mary Roach books are also like that. Though those tend to be even more icky.

Molly ends up being one of my favorite characters. I'm so curious about what ends up happening to her...

The next book is supposed to be very Molly-heavy. :)
