How far was the drive?
About 50 miles from my house to their closest branch library, but I picked up my friend, and she is about 5 miles further east... so 55.4 miles.But, now I've been checking out eBooks! Woohoo! They have video, too, but I'm not sure how to download them. I might have to go back up there and take a class on how to do that, if I can't figure it out.
It is a good think I have the Dresden Files in paperback, though. They have them in eBooks, but they are six to a set. Weird, right? So, of course there is a waiting list.
I want to answer Q's but I'm no sure I can without spoilers. :)

Shosho's Question for chapter 26-3835.I love it that Harry and Kincaid are jabbing each other about Hawaii and it was really funny when he checked Harry’s pocket for the gun. Can you believe his name is Jared? Murphy and Kincaid have something going on there , don’t they?
36.That scene in front of the fire with Luccio was interesting and what she said about posing as a nude model was suggestive but Harry didn’t get it .Will anything come out of it? Will they get together? I loved Harry and Thomas’s conversation afterward ! Juju stick :D what do you think ?
37.It seems Sanya wants to offer Fidelacchius to Murphy but Michael doesn’t agree with it! Should they do it(If they get a chance)? Is Michael right about that it has to be a calling?

13. Mantis Girl - shudder. Why does she want Gard and Hendricks dead?
**double shudder** Ugh!! I don’t know. Was she sent by some one other than her “superiors”? I’m thinking ShoSho has the right of it; she (they) ultimately wants Marcone.
14. Ok. The Denarians are signatories of the Accords. What is the significance of this? Why do they object to Marcone?
Again, I’m clueless. I’ll go with ShoSho’s answer.
15. The coin would know exactly how to manipulate Thomas - with Justine. Do you think Thomas would risk being possessed to be with Justine again?
I think Harry’s telling him that made him get a good grasp of the situation; so, no, I don’t think so. As much as he loves Justine, I don’t believe he wants her that way. Nor her inevitable demise due to his falling under the power of the coin. Thank goodness Thomas was wearing gloves! Yikes!
16. Sanya recognized Thomas as a vampire but not what Gard is. Why not?
Not sure, so I’ll go with ShoSho again. LOL!
17. What’s with Michael's "do you" Comment?
I think he’s just letting Harry know that he needs to be a little more cautious/thoughtful with the Carpenter family.
18. Harry surmises that the Denarians want to recruit Marcone. Marcone as a Denarian - very bad news! Would Marcone go for it? Why do they want him?
No, not Marcone’s cup of tea. Yes, it is because of the power he has already established in Chicago’s underground.

Ugh! This dude is a pain. I hope so.

Conversely, I think Harry is at his best in his conversations with Michael. I like that Harry can hold his own and remain true to himself, and be friends with Michael.
21. Harry is very sneaky when talking to Lucio - letting her jump to her own conclusions. Why wasn't he honest with her?
Harry, Harry, Harry! I hope this doesn’t come back to bite him in the tush. I think he did it because of what he said, that he needed the White Counsil’s backing.
22. Sanya took the coin willingly at the age of 16. What did you think of his story?
**shrugs** Nice backstory; I never really thought about it, but I didn’t even think there were black people in Russia. Love Venice! But, ShoSho could be right; it might have been too easy; interesting that he was eavesdropping and Rosanna didn’t know.
23. Sanya is agnostic. What do you think of his philosophy about the supernatural?
I think it is very interesting how he can keep his good work with the sword – and fight evil – separate in his mind from religion, or belief in a deity.
24. Do you think Harry will give the sword to someone by the end of the book?
Hmmmm… maybe. But, I’m about 80% certain he won’t.
25. According to Harry, humans en mass pose a significant threat to supernaturals. Do you agree?
Yes. They could all ban together and overpower them.

I think Murphy would make a fantastic knight as indicated by Harry's view of her as a warrior angel when he looks at her with his "sight".
Michael is right that it is a calling but I don't consider it a religious one. Sanya is agnostic. Given Murphy's profound sense of honor and duty, it would be a calling for her as well

I knew it wouldn't go smoothly but I wasn't expecting the attempt to kidnap Ivy. Those Denarians are scum!!

Ivy is so sweet with Mouse and the Otters. Yes, it is easy to forget that she is still a child with a child's needs

Didn't think is was Lash because she is gone - she sacrificed herself to protect Harry and I don't think she's coming back.

About the coins and the church, it doesn't have to be Father Forhill. It could be anyone within the church weak enough to fall into the temptation offered by the coins. The coins can, in a limited way affect things around them in order to find a bearer. Kinds like Sauron's ring in Lord of the Rings.
I'm eager to see if you love it and hate it like Shosho. I'll post Q's tonight.

4. Harry's time with Lash has paid off. Twice he avoided being manipulated by the Nickelheads. It's nice to see Harry figuring things out before it's too late.
5. Gard certainly knows how to make an entrance! Gotta love Marcone for putting Ivy first.
6. Michael! He told Harry in Proven Guilty that he felt his retirement was near. Seems he was right. Thoughts?

That surprised me. I just thought Harry acquired a new power. I do like Bob’s description of the four archangels as “Heaven’s Black-Ops.” I checked DresdenWiki Uriel may “intervene at his own discretion when it appears the forces of Evil have cheated, or interfered with mortals' Free Will.” So, I’m going to have to re-read that part and see what pre-empted its use. Definitely the first, but still needs review by me. I liked the whole soulfire being the opposite of hellfire and the idea that it is a fusion of Harry’s soul with his magic.
12. Why did Thorned Namshiel attack Arctis Tor? Do you think the gruffs were involved in the attack? And why is Mab still talking through Grimalkin?
I don’t know; as a member of the Order of the Blackened Denarius could he ALSO be a member of the Black Council? I thought of them as strictly as traitors of the White Council, but there is no reason the Black Council couldn’t be made up of traitors from various fractions. Very weird Mab still talking through Grimalkin (very noticeable on the audio). Makes me wonder.

That déjà vu feeling was a bit creepy – and worrisome, until Luccio explained it later. But nothing came of it this book – so that means a future storyline!

4. Harry's time with Lash has paid off. Twice he avoided being manipulated by the Nickelheads. It's nice to see Harry figuring things out before it's too late.
He's getting better , in the first few books ,he was just muddling through and finding things too late ,it's more fun this way

I just HATED what happened to him, I wanted him to retire and have the life he wanted with his kids , but not this way.It was too harsh for a character this good that was a bad end :(

Yes that was my first thought , he won't have Susan's protection any more . No she is not good for him because he has to hide so many things from her .and I've started to suspect her of some foul play , I don't why .

They don't object to him ,they just want him in their folds. He is a very powerful ally.

No he's better than that and he won't risk harming Justine again. That comment from Harry about the demon hurting Justine once sealed the deal.

He recognized her as a supernatural being but couldn't say what!Maybe he's never seen a Valkyrie before , it doesn't seems there are many of them around

No he's more self serving than that. He has become really powerful ,they can control Chicago through him

yes he's a bit judgemental but I still love him ,he's one of the best characters and I think they'll sort this out soon,one of them will see the light
